We had a 3 br villa at Las ventanas. I would say overall a nice place, but aspects of the service was sub par. Our butler was great, but waited for drinks and food at the pool area for 45 minutes and never came. For the price we paid I was not overly impressed . The service charges on top of the bill was absurd.

Hotel's Favorite
We absolutely loved Rosewood Las Ventanas. This was our first time staying at this property. We have been fortunate to stay in beautiful properties and luxury brands across the globe, and this property certainly stands out as one of the best. The hotel and design is gorgeous, the food is great, the pools and beach were amazing. We were between this and One&Only and we’re so glad we chose this property. We ate at all of the restaurants on property, and we particularly enjoyed Arbol (ate there 3 times it was great!). While everything here exceeded our expectations, the staff is what stands out and separates this property from its competitors. We would like to give special recognition to Waldo Hernandez who was so kind and gracious, my wife and I loved him. He has such a friendly demeanor and it is easy to tell that a positive guest experience is very important to him. Fernando who mans the door at La Botica is also fantastic - super friendly and ensured everyone at La Botica had a great time. We had great servers Angel and Crisanto at Arbol. And last but certainly not least, our butler staff was fantastic — Samuel, Arturo and especially Luis. Luis deftly maneuvered changes in reservations and specific requests. The Rosewood team here provided anticipatory service and we loved it. It is easy to tell why this place is called Windows to Paradise. You have gained Rosewood loyalists for life. We can’t wait to come back soon!

This was our first stay at Las Ventanas, and essentially our first to Cabo (we've been to Todos Santos once before). I came across the resort through various social media posts and reviews, so I was excited when a different trip fell through and we were able to book this instead. In celebration of our first solo trip since our second child was born, my husband and I booked an ocean view suite via AmEx Fine Hotels & Resorts. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to an Ocean View suite (308, right above one of the adult pools), and WOW what a room. It was spacious and beautifully appointed, with an amazing rooftop deck that we never really got the opportunity to take full advantage of as we ended up sitting on the terrace more and enjoying that couch and the jacuzzi. One thing that stood out to me was that there was not one single solitary ounce of a mildew smell, which is something I have found fairly common in most hotels in Mexico. Maybe this is less common in Cabo, where it's drier, as I've spent most of my time in the Yucatán Peninsula. But either way, that was positively noticeable. Our butler team was excellent, and Silvino made sure to come check in with us daily and see what our plans were for the day. We ultimately never needed anything particular from them, so I can't really speak to any great lengths the service went. Additionally, we ate at all restaurants (though had breakfast on our terrace daily so never actually ate at Aberjie) and the food was absolutely EXCELLENT. We were nervous about this as we typically try to eat at more local spots and not at resorts, but this isn't so easy in Cabo as everything is a drive. To note, some recent reviews complained of generator noise, which we absolutely did not experience. Las Ventanas is SO quiet and tranquil. We were even there during peak spring break time, and while there were more children than expected they were not an issue at all. If I have complaints it would be the following: - The drinks are just...astronomically expensive. Margaritas can be upwards of almost $40 and the only red wine option on the menu I wanted to try was $75/glass when I know that at home a whole bottle of this wine is $50. This just makes staying longer or frequent returns so prohibitive. - I had seen many people receive personalized items like monogrammed pillowcases and/or monogrammed beach bags and we didn't receive any of this. Obviously none of this is guaranteed, but knowing what I knew, I expected to return to the room each day and experience a little ~something~ and there really wasn't anything that stood out. - The pizza at Sea Grill was pretty bad, which we were shocked by as the focaccia was excellent and everything else at the hotel had been amazing. Given that the wood fired oven is the cornerstone of that restaurant, this was pretty surprising. - The rooms are very expensive. At least at O&O, Chileno Bay, and Esperanza you can get a King room for roughly $700 and the cheapest room I see at Las Ventanas is nearly $1k/night. It is what it is because it's an amazing resort, but given how inflated drinks and food are, it would be nice to be able to get in for the same cost as some of these other hotels. Because of this, I'm considering other hotels for our return trip in August when really all I want to do is go to Las Ventanas. We loved our time there so much that I would book a return trip on the spot if the prices were juuuuustttt a bit cheaper.

We returned to LVP again for a spring break. This property remains one of my favorite properties in the world in terms of the level of service, architectural design, and the general tone of serenity that permeates in every aspect of the hotel. I walk onto this property and I feel at home, welcome, and so zen.

Since I have been coming to LVP (15+ years) I have compared the service of every hotel in the world to the standards of service set by this property. On this trip, service levels remained high. Different departments stand out on each trip. This trip, we found the pool valets to be stellar (everyday we saw them SPRINT towards any guest purporting to try and adjust their own sun bed - it’s quite the sight to see!) and a push of the pool valet button resulted in a prompt response each time. I wanted coconut water at the pool and I know the pool staff made great effort to find me a fresh coconut. The spa staff were so gracious. Massage was again next level and I had a wonderful blow dry and style as always from the talented Patricia ( she is passionate about hair and a lovely human). Wonderful service at the Cerviche bar - they will discuss best mezcal and tequilas with you with depth of knowledge and interest. Housekeeping was very good and the little pillows with thread matching your holiday wardrobe are back in addition to all the other special details that make guests feel special. I will say that my expectations are high, and there were some service drops this trip. They seemed to be under staffed at breakfast at Alebrije this trip and requests had to be repeated and waits for table and food a little longer than usual. Josué was very good as usual though he had many tables to manage, and other staff seemed less well trained and less attentive. Our butler team were nice but seemed less focused and attentive than other stays. Perhaps we were comparing to our butler from just days before at the Waldorf who seemed to manage our stay personally: he checked in with me each morning by WHATSAPP, he asked for what time we wanted housekeeping, he personally brought the guac and chips each day, he personally came each day to check in. There was also an issue with our Arbol reservation request which could have been better managed. I can report that I heard no generator noise mentioned in some other recent reviews. It is true that at breakfast we see and hear children at the restaurant and in the pool as mentioned by some reviewers as a negative. That is why we book a suite on the adult section. I still find the resort to be very serene.
I ask myself often, why do I keep coming back here (despite the price point)? I have travelled the world experiencing spectacular properties. I think it’s the way I feel I am here - taken care of, but not in an over the top or intrusive manner, in the context of beautiful luxury. It’s small enough a property to maintain a feeling of intimacy. The property itself, despite having opened some 27 years ago, remains very very well maintained. As more competition is set to arrive on the San Jose scene, LVP will have to maintain and even kick it up a notch to stay a top property in the region. I am sure they will.

Stayed here for a second time for a girl trip to celebrate a 40th birthday. It remains the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. Everything was absolute perfection. The service, the food, the grounds, the amenities. This is absolutely the gem of the luxury hotel collection. If you can afford to stay here, then do it! Our butler Karla was attentive to every detail. Our housekeeping team BLEW us away for the little details they noticed in our beautiful room. I noticed a few of the reviews had mentioned a loud noise and I never heard it once. If you are considering booking this exceptional property, do it.

We first visited Las Ventanas on our honeymoon and returned several years later with two small kids in tow for Spring Break. Both trips were excellent! The resort has expanded to add more residences and additional pools/restaurants since our initial visit. There is definitely a more child friendly vibe than there used to be - but this isn’t a bad thing! There is still an adult only pool, quiet and private cabanas, and adult oriented restaurants. Those reviewers complaining of kids gone wild are just grumpy…we were there at a peak family time…kids were overwhelmingly well behaved. And the resort never felt crowded! Go stay at an adults only resort if you don’t want to see children. We stayed in a one bedroom ocean view residence this time (1202.) I probably won’t do that again - the kitchen was dated and the living area quite small with a concrete couch(?). The bathroom was also open and not private. But the resort amenities are so lovely, we didn’t feel the need to spend much time in the room. Favorites: a whale watching boat excursion, spa visit, lazy river pool and taqueria, sunset bar, excellent service from staff at every level - especially our concierge team, daily breakfast is included - room service is lovely! Also recommend their private transport to and from the airport - it makes life so much easier. Could be better: the kids club required a parent to stay with the child - what’s really the point? Rosewood Mayakoba kids club is much, much better for giving parents a break in the day. Wine prices are absurdly high - we stuck with cocktails. And as an fyi, Las Ventanas is a challenging property for those with accessibility issues - the staff do their best to accommodate, but my husband was somewhat limited in where he could go around the resort - especially around the pool areas which have stairs everywhere. This resort remains one of our favorites!

Second time definitely as good or better! We brought friends with us this time around so the pressure was on because of our rave reviews from the first experience! Well this incredible resort delivered the goods! Truly perfection. Our butlers Edmond, Gerson and Karla couldn’t have done a better job taking care of our every need. Our rooms 507 and 508 were perfectly situated for easy access to everything. Started off our mornings with coffee from the beautiful outdoor lobby. Antonio (Batman) greeted us with a smile and fresh coffee. He’s there from 5:30 to 7 am so that early risers can grab a cup of joe and not miss the sunset from our rooms veranda . The beds and linens are lovely and housekeeping was stellar. Breakfast at the Sea grille for us meant fresh fruit and daily juice selection, the best scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, croissants and jelly’s, French toast like no other , and anything else you can think of. Veronica and Fernando always met our every need. We preferred the adults only pool and our pool attendants Antonio, luis , Carlo and Miguel took great care of us . Without asking they made sure we had shade , water and drinks in a flash. Dinner at Arbol was an experience in itself. Beautiful ambience with colors that just wow. Our server Abraham took great care to explain the menu. The chef actually came to our table to help find something special for me because I’m not a foodie. He even came back after dinner to see if I liked it! That is something I’ll never forget. I could go on and on about this magnificent place because truly it is an experience that o can’t say enough good things about. Oh and one more thing…. Our butlers helped us book a sunset sailboat adventure. Our captain Ivan and first mate Cesar took us sailing and whale watching. January and February is whale watching season in Cabo. Even sitting at the pool we would see whales very close to shore. Everywhere you looked you could see them swimming by and sometimes breaching. Quite incredible!!

I wanted to share that the concierge we worked with during our stay was Karla. She as amazing and made us feel like we were her only clients! We landed early in the afternoon and by 5pm she had us booked on a semi private catamaran cruise to the arch. She took car of each and every detail and being able to communicate through Whatsapp was so convenient. Karla was professional and helpful, guiding us to fabulous dinners off sight as well as securing reservations for us at the resort. It was a true pleasure working with her and I would request being placed with Karla on our next visit. She is a rockstar!!

We've stayed at Las Ventanas many times (12 - 15?) and loved every time more than the last. It truly has felt like our home away from home. However, the last few times, we've noticed it has become more of a family resort, allowing children of all ages at the main pool, which is by far the best pool. The noise level is almost unbearable and doesn't have that relaxing, quiet feel we've grown to love and crave. Las Ventanas has been an escape from our daily grind, and now it feels less like a vacation and more like a family trip, albeit not our family, just everyone else's. We truly hope LV will hear what so many are saying and reconsider their target market. Atleast banish the kids to the kids pool. Fathom that! Otherwise, we'll sadly be looking elsewhere.

Thank you for your loyalty to Las Ventanas al Paraíso and for sharing your thoughts on your recent visit. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and value your perspective. We understand and share your sentiments regarding the atmosphere at the main pool during school vacation weeks. Unfortunately, during these periods, the resort tends to attract families looking for a getaway. We regret if this impacted your usual serene experience. We want you to know that your concerns are important to us, and we are continually evaluating and adjusting our offerings to ensure that all guests can enjoy the tranquility they seek. We genuinely apologize for any disruption to your experience. We invite you to consider visiting us during a different time, away from school vacation weeks, to experience the serene and romantic ambiance that Las Ventanas is renowned for. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more relaxed and peaceful stay. Best, Las Ventanas Guest Relations Team
