Marquis Los Cabos gave us a truly amazing vacation, and a great value for the money! Marquis is a moderately priced all-inclusive that in my opinion absolutely punches above its weight and delivers an experience you would expect at a place that costs 50% more than Marquis. We stayed for 8 days, and wish we could have made it longer! The service is amazing top-to-bottom, from the room staff, for restaurant, to pool-side servers, to entertainment staff. Everyone is incredibly warm and does their best at all times. We also visited just as Mexico's hospitality rules were opening up, and I'd say about 30% of the staff had "Trainee" on their name badges, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the quality of service. My wife and I really enjoyed the food, and it's definitely one of those elements that was exceptional for a reasonably priced all-inclusive. If you compare it to food on a cruise ship or other all-inclusive, it just blows them away in our experience. Food from every restaurant was great from the plating to the taste and service. All of their food was seasoned extremely well too. Some favorites at the Crab Tostadas at Dos Mares, the fresh tacos and grilled tortillas from taco day at the grill by the pool, the Marlin Wontons from Sakke, and the fried Chicken Tacos from room service/dos mares. The resort itself is amazing too: the closest to the ocean of any building in the area, and plenty of space. Some people get up early (like 7am) to reserve a lounger right by the pool, but you can always find a lounger with a great spot and view no matter when you start your day (usually we did around 11am). Having the infinity pools so close to the waves is awesome, and you'll usually see a few people just getting zenned out in the pool watching the surf and relaxing. The beach in this area of baja has an extreme riptide current, so it's not swimmable in most areas, including the resort. They have a staff member watching the water and making sure no one gets in the water in front of the resort. However, about a 15 minute walk south on the beach is the Hilton where they have a cove that's more swimmable (although still has some gnarly riptides that aren't safe for little ones), and a cool little area with tidepools and rocks on the way there. The rooms are amazing, and we had the cheapest room (Ocean View, room 206), and still had a million dollar view that would be one of the best available at any other resort. We had a great view of sunrises (when we up early enough) and a 150 degree view of the ocean. The room was very spacious, and the bath, shower, and toilet enclosure in the bathrooms were top-notch too, so you could just relax in your room if you'd like. We did do a couples massage at the spa, and it was great! The spa is hidden away on its own private floor, just above the pool floor. It also has a private pool and hot tub area with different loungers that you have access to if you get a massage or get a day pass (which is I think $20). It's a great hidden spot to relax privately, and the massage and spa service were amazing. When we were planning the trip, we thought that we'd want to do at least one day trip or excursion, but luckily didn't book anything in advance because we had everything we wanted at the resort and were able to just relax on-site for our entire vacation. The visitor crowd when we visited was good, with most people clearly just there to relax. There were one or two groups of more parties (loud and a bit obnoxious), but they were few and far between at least for our visit. If you want a relaxing vacation with phenomenal service, food, and experiences, definitely check out Marquis. We're hoping that we can make a return to Marquis a more normal thing for us because we loved it so much!

Want good service? Want good food? Want a friendly staff? Then Marquis Los Cabos is definitely not for you. Views from this hotel are amazing - have to give them that but apart from that our experience was quite simply average. Definitely not a 4.7 rated hotel. There are only 4 dinner options available, out of which the french restaurant will charge you $216 for two in an all-inclusive. Very few in the staff speak English, so we got the wrong order time and again. That’s even after we asked the wait staff to repeat what they had noted down. The one time we raised the issue with the manager, the waiter got aggressive and was extremely sarcastic. Almost their entire staff is a trainee and no one is really training them. So, take a wild guess how that is turning out. On the final day, we asked the pool staff to open one of the umbrellas next to the pool so that we could get some shade and they refused saying that they had to shut all umbrellas because of the wind. I’ve attached a picture of “all the umbrellas being shut”. We, however, still didn’t get an umbrella to help us from the 95F sun. Maybe others have had a better experience, maybe it was just the color of our skin. I definitely would not recommend going here.

My Dad and I are heading back to the Marquis Resort in Los Cabos for time #2 tomorrow 6-19-2021! I am writing this as a follow up to my first review to let fellow travelers know that we are returning 😊. As stated in my past review, our first time at this resort was fantastic. We were there to celebrate Thanksgiving 2020 and stayed for 9 fabulous days. Just to name a few all-star staff members - Thank you again to Fernando (Front Desk Manager), Isael (front desk), Salvador (pool server Sal and food and beverage manager Sal), Eduardo (bartender). Thank you to all those working at the Marquis Resort at that time (high time of COVID). All staff that we interacted with were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. My Dad and I are looking forward to our return to enjoy the Marquis Resort’s well-prepared food (enjoyed all the restaurants), beautiful infinity pools (overlooking the ocean), sipping on great drinks (many to choose from), and taking part in the activities 😊. Upon my return from this trip I will add another review of the Marquis Resort!
