Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at this resort for our 55th anniversary along with our daughter for her birthday. This resort is beautiful with gorgeous landscaping and oceanfront. We stayed for a week in one of the Casita oceanfront suites at the end of July-Aug. I had a crisis on my second day when one of my glass lens popped out and I went to Grace at the Concierge desk for assistance. She made several calls (gift shop & maintenance) looking for a solution. She went above and beyond to help me with my immediate crisis. It looked like a trip off the resort was the only way to repair my glasses. On my way back to the room, I stopped in the gift shop to see if they carried super glue and they did! This was a new item not on the shelf, however, the manager overheard the conversation and went back to the stockroom to obtain the glue. Crisis adverted!!
I didn’t venture outside to participate in the many activities available to guests. It was too hot so I read and relaxed in the cool casita, however, I did take advantage of our private plunge pool. Hubby, walked the beach but realize you had to go ~5:30 am when it wasn’t so hot/humid. He found the crashing ocean waves & rock formations spectacular along with turtle tracks on one of his daily walks.
The room was kept immaculate each day (I don’t remember the maid name but she was very efficient & smiled a lot.) We had almost daily refills of the snacs & beer & sodas each day. We enjoyed the complimentary 24 hr in room dining options as well as the popular coffee shop for a cold beverage, baked items and could order fresh prepared sandwich to go. Popular location! Adrianna at the breakfast buffet always had a smile for the guests, Stephano, our waiter was very attentive & efficient during our dinners at the Seafood & Italian restaurants. Hubby had to use the laundry service since it was so hot and humid. He was very impressed when his shirts came back pressed and his under ware & socks looked as if it was pressed. Everywhere you looked the employees worked very hard to keep this resort looking beautiful. We encountered a couple large bugs in our room but in the tropics that’s normal. Insects live everywhere in Florida as well all southern states even with continuous spraying. Our daughter did have a humidifier in her room which she emptied daily. She should have notified the front desk but she didn't. I think perhaps in the future someone from the hotel staff should be aware that it needed attention daily.
All in all we had a fabulous stay and would considering staying again in the future.

Just got back from a week vacation celebrating our 25th anniversary at the marquis. There are no words to say how beautiful and amazing this resort is. Every single staff member was exceptionally attentive to our needs. When we first checked in we had a room view that didn’t meet our expectations and were worried about getting it changed. Andrea who checked us in assured us to check back the next day and she would do everything she could to find us something else as soon as it become available. Sure enough the next morning we had another room with the most amazing unobstructed ocean views. And the best thing is that they did the room upgrade complementary. Rooms were turned over 2x daily which was really nice. We’d come back from dinner and beds were turned down, lights dimmed, slippers by the bed and curtains closed for the night. A very nice touch. All the restaurants were great. We were able to order a la carte from the 4 restaurants. Sake has a teppan grill which was fun too. One of our waiters, Omar was such a kind, professional, informative and attentive waiter. They had different dinner themed nights that were fun to attend. An Oscar screening which included a red carpet and watching the oscars on the beach. A bbq beach party with a fire show. We were welcomed personally by name every morning for breakfast by Adrianna who always had a sweet smile on her face. Breakfast was offered from only 1 restaurant but they would make anything you wanted if you didn’t like the menu or buffet offerings. Pool side service was always available. You never went very long with out a server checking in. Drinks are made to order if you wanted something other than the house liquor. Our pool side servers Jared, Salvador and Edgar took great care of us always ensuring that we didn’t go long without a drink or a snack. Ceviche, guacamole and chips pool side was the best! Only one of the infinity pools is heated which is where most of the people are swimming but it never felt too crowded. It would be nice to have both heated since they both have such amazing views of the ocean. Overall this resort was fabulous. This isn't a huge party type resort. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a more personalized relaxing experience. Hope to see you all soon!!

This was my husband and I’s first trip to Cabo. We got married on 02/02/2020 (pre-Covid) and we’re super sad we had to cancel our Dubai honeymoon due to restrictions. Since this weekend was our 6 month wedding anniversary, we decided to take a leap of faith and travel to Cabo for a mini moon (another destination we considered for a honeymoon). All I can say is WOW.
This place blew our expectations out of the water! We also have never stayed in an all inclusive, and it was incredible!! It truly was ALL you can eat and drink, and what made it even more enjoyable was the friendly staff. Alberto was one of our favorites, super kind, friendly, and very attentive! We were greeted with a margarita and once we got to our room they had decorated it, and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and strawberries.
The hotel itself is magical, every inch of this place is a photo opportunity. Palm trees, multiple infinity pools overseeing the ocean, and of course if you get up early enough you can watch a gorgeous sunset coming over the rocks (and maybe see some sting rays!)
The only thing we wish we knew was about transportation. We didn’t realize you can Uber (and not have to take taxis which are more expensive) and also the location is in between the two towns of Cabo. However, we picked it to be in the middle because we wanted to see both cities, but if you only want to stay “downtown Cabo” this is around a 25 min drive from there. If you are looking to stay in one gorgeous location, and have the time of your life, then look no further!
We will definitely be coming back, and highly recommend this hotel to any couple, friend groups, or adults that just want to have a good relaxing time! You won’t be disappointed.

I stayed at the Marquis in January 2020. It's a beautiful resort, clean with a friendly staff, but I wouldn't stay there again unless management fixed some issues. The resort boasts 3 pools, but 2 of them were unusable because management chose not to heat them and they were freezing and completely empty. The one heated pool was therefore overcrowded. There are no hot tubs outside the spa area, and no beverages are allowed in those ones. The resort offers water activities, but they got cancelled daily because they were held in the non-heated pool and no one wanted to go in. The toilet in our room was leaking from the bottom, and never got fixed despite us reporting the issue so we had a wet bathroom floor during our stay. Finally, as others have mentioned, the dinner restaurants are poorly managed with extremely long wait times despite empty tables and below average food. We chose to go off-property for dinners after the first two nights. Definitely skip the asian restaurant. There was an (unafilliated?) horseback riding on the beach vendor right behind the pool, and the horses looked so malnourished that it made the offering sad instead of a benefit - animal tourism can often be sketchy. I will reiterate that the property is gorgeous and the waitstaff at the pool and breakfast buffet were great. The lunchtime taco bar was cute as well. If management could get it together, this hotel could be a winner.

I came here with my mom, sister, her boyfriend, and my sister's two friends. The view from the hotel is stunning. They sanitize your luggage when you arrive at the hotel and have you step in a machine that sprays sanitizer all over your body.
It has a very mellow, relaxing, peaceful vibe to it. There are activities planned daily, but overall, it doesn't get too loud or rowdy.
There are five restaurants. You have to make a reservation to sit at the hibachi grill for the Japanese restaurant, but you can walk-in and sit at a regular table anytime. And the French restaurant is about $100 USD a person and you also have to reserve this. The Mexican restaurant and Italian restaurant are great for dinner. And then there is the Dos Mares snack bar by the pool. You have to try their ceviche! It comes in different styles! My favorite is the Yucutan version!
All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming! One staff that stood out to my family and I was a server, Alejandro! Our first night, my family told him that we were celebrating my birthday (which was 4 days later). He brought a special birthday dessert platter for us as a surprise. He was very personable and funny and I could tell that he genuinely wanted us to have a great experience. Even after we left and went to the bar next door, he walked over to tell the live band that was performing to sing happy birthday to me. He really went above and beyond with his customer service! And he is still a trainee and has only been there 3 weeks! I applaud him because he works double shifts 7 days a week and still has energy to be kind and give the hotel guests a great experience! He is a hard worker and does his job well!

My husband and I got back from a 7 day stay at the Marquis which was truly a relaxing yet eventful vacation. We cannot say how top notch the staff at the Marquis was. From Alberto ( and many others their name doesn’t come to mind) at the pool which brought us fresh cocktails, waters and lots of ceviche, to the cafe’ staff with delish lattes to Adriana in the morning greeting us to breakfast. We also met a great group of people who we ventured into San Jose( Gallery Walk a must but take an Uber so you can stay later .If you want to enjoy the views there is plenty of room to be by yourself. All rooms are ocean view so no need to upgrade (241 perfect and no noise). Each day a small basket of sweet bread is delivered to your room a nice touch. We ordered Christmas Day breakfast room service all was hot and perfect. All food was sit down or menu expect for breakfast which we didn’t mind and felt there was lots of variety. They also has a beach bbq with fire dancers, Mexican night with dancers which was great.
A few tips: you can’t swim in the ocean in front of the hotel but 15 minute walk on the beach to the Hilton you can ( bring shoes lots of pebble sand). The spa at Marquis is expensive but on your way to the Hilton there is a massage text 40usd for an hour it’s great if you don’t mind being in the open, book your transportation when arriving ( Transcabo)however we took Uber leaving and didn’t have a problem. Don’t talk to anyone in the airport as timeshare people are shady. We also did a great sunset whale watch boat tour in San Lucas ( CaboVentures) through the hotel we saw lots of whales & staff was great! Also bring money to tip these staff works incredibly hard and while you are not judged it’s tip well earned.

First things first, this hotel handles things with COVID-19 better than most places in the US. Staff used safe practices and cleaned thoroughly during my stay there and the front desk will help set up a time to take a rapid test in order to get back to the US. You get the test results emailed to you same day, it costs $50 bucks, but that's a small price to pay to travel mid-pandemic (you also get the resort almost entirely to yourself right now too).
Views were beyond beautiful; you could just sit up on your balcony and be satisfied. We also went during whale migration so we saw about 50 whales during our 3 day stay. Rooms were quite spacious, the bed was super comfortable, the mini-bar was refilled every day, and you got fresh pastries delivered to your room every morning!
The biggest emphasis on this review is the service. My wife and I did this trip as a postponed honeymoon and the staff left us a sign at the door along with a bottle of wine and a treat. It was clear from the start that management hold a high standard here. By the second day a majority of staff we interacted with knew my wife and I by name and pretty much everyone had an excellent attitude; and the thing was it seemed really authentic. Pretty much like anywhere else, if you show staff respect they will show respect back. A special shout out to Julio at the front desk, Arturo serving poolside, Luna who is friendliest person ever, Salvador at the bar who hunted for a bottle of mezcal for me across the resort, Adrianna (I think was here name), Sebastian at the coffee shop, and lastly Jorge at Vistas Ballenas who not only gave my wife and I fantastic service but stayed and chatted with us for a while talking about his life experiences working during the pandemic. This will likely be the only place I stay in Cabo for future trips.

Avid traveller of Los Cabos, Cancun, Mayan Riveria, & Jamaica, each time staying at various all inclusive resorts; I have to state that this is by no means a 5 star resort experience. Would rate more at a 4. I will express both positive and negative as each traveller has different aspects that are critical to their trip experience. Negative: nightly entertainment term is used loosely here, there really is only 2 nights that I would class as entertainment (Fire Dancers & Spanish Dancers), the other nights consist of small enhancements in their small bar or pergola restaurant (DJ, Guitar or Saxphone player, casino night (only 2 tables for blackjack or Texas holdem). Since you away from the hotel zone and a $35 cab ride into the markets or activities we did assume that the nightly entertainment would be stronger. We were disappointed. Restaurant service is weak and inconsistent. They struggle when the hotel is busy, many times over the week we would either get all the courses at the same time vs spaced or wait 10-15 minutes for coffee service at breakfast or not get the order entirely. The morning buffet provided over runny eggs, lacked dishes for yoghurt, over ripened fruit. Room service requires you to be very specific when ordering, twice ordered Continental Breakfast for 2 and if you didn’t state coffee you didn’t get it. Be sure to provide clear direction, don’t assume what is listed is what will come in ordering, if you don’t you will be waiting to get the full order. Rooms are in need of updates, painted over cabinetry, dated jetted tubs and pull out couches. The only liquor in the room is Mini Corona Beer, rest is a few soda’s. There is construction going on beside the hotel (left side) which starts each day at 8am so if you like to sleep in it will disrupt this. Even had a internal hotel construction going on that we where forced to call down to the front desk at 3am. Not sure why they thought it was good time to cut pipe. Positive: pools are nice there is no swim up bar so if you like that you will be disappointed. Pool service was good and quick, check in experience was receptive and efficient, food quality was fair to good. Hotel common areas were clean, Gym was adequate, spa was nice but expensive. For us...this was a one and done resort. It was ok but not one I would rebook or recommend without cautious feedback.

We were very nervous about traveling during a pandemic but we bought our trip through a travel website and were not eligible for a refund. We knew we had to go and hoped for the best. Once we got here, we knew there was nothing to worry about! This resort is going above and beyond to make sure it is clean and everyone stays healthy. All staff is masked, pool chairs and dining tables are extremely spaced out and you can tell they are going the extra step to sanitize, clean and minimize exposure from other guests.
Our room was beautiful, well appointed and had amazing views of the grounds, pool and ocean. Housekeeping did an amazing job to keep it clean and the linens and towels are top notch.
The poolside service was attentive and fast and we were taken care of. The taste and quality of the food was great and fresh with a beautiful presentation. Dining is a little different than normal with less guests on the property than normal but there was still a variety and we had exceptional meals every night.
Every staff member was helpful, attentive, and friendly but we had especially great experiences with Liliana, Eladio, Alberto, Cynthia, Karen, Adriana and Azucena.
Since they are working at a reduced capacity there were times it felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves and the staff was extra attentive. It was a perfect time to go!
We will definitely return to this amazing resort!! Hopefully we can come back when life returns to normal. I know that guests are so important to their economy and they were SO happy to have people on site. They even had a little welcome party because we were one of the first guests to arrive.
If you are nervous about traveling during COVID, visit the Marquis and those fears will melt away while you enjoy an amazing vacation!!

We vacationed with another couple for 4 nights at the Marquis Los Cabos. Our top floor ocean front rooms were side by side, as requested. We had wonderful views of the ocean and beautiful sunrises every morning. Despite the main highway being close, we could barely hear the noise. The service was excellent and the food ranged from average in the Mexican restaurant to above average in the Japanese restaurant. We ate twice in the Italian restaurant (because the Japanese restaurant was closed) and enjoyed our meals there, although not outstanding. Our rooms were comfortable, with a king bed and oddly oversized closet, with a small tv off to one side. The bathroom had nothing but a sheer curtain separating it from the bedroom. There were frosted glass doors on the walk in shower and water closet that were somewhat difficult to open. The balcony was quite small, with only two chairs and a table and a rail that was very low and would NOT be considered safe in the US. We sat in lounges on the beach and had no trouble finding someone to set us up each day. Overall,it was a very good experience, except for our transfers. We had pre-arranged private round trip transfers directly with the resort. When our Alaska Airlines flight was delayed over 6 hours, we called the concierge desk at the Marquis and spoke to Grace. We gave her our new flight number and arrival time. She said not to worry, she would let Transcabo know. However, when we finally arrived, the Transcabo rep still had our old flight info and we had to wait nearly half an hour (after traveling 12 hrs) for a car. I emailed the concierge desk at the resort and told them exactly what had happened, and they said they would check the call log and make an adjustment to our bill. When we checked out, we were charged full price for round trip transfers “because we were provided round trip transfers.”
As a gesture of good will, it would have been nice to make some kind of adjustment to our bill, since Grace clearly did not notify Transcabo of our later arrival.

I’m not sure - we got a king! My guess would be no, based on how heavy the beds are. I think they may have been attached to the wall as well.
Yes that's correct, 3 plus buffet(only breakfast)plus a great in suite breakfast/dining menu. Best one for sure was ballenas but tepanyaki dinner at sake was lots of fun as well.
Ubers are so easy in Cabo and cheaper than a taxi. Never had to wait more than 2 minutes. to Marquis it cost us 450 peso I think from near the marina. I wouldnt bother pre arranging transport. A cheaper way is the ruta desieto bus. You can get the bus from the parking lot on the opposite side of the road from marquis and I think it only costs 40 peso . You can get off board opposite the Chedraui in Cabo. ON the way back I am not too sure where it stops but bus drivers tend to drop people off anywhere . If we chose to go to cabo from marquis we usually caught the bus there and sometimes got an uber back for better comfort / airconditioning. The busses are all diffferent quality. 1 time it was so crowded and the Ac didnt work so its hit and miss. they come every 10 minutes
