We booked this resort to celebrate my Mom's 60th birthday Memorial day weekend. For context, I have stayed at 10-15 different resorts from San Lucas to Los Cabos, and I consider myself a very reasonable person. When booking the Hilton, I was not expecting the service level of the Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Grand Velas, or Rosewood. I was clear that this was a 4-diamond resort, and I could depend on Hilton quality. First, he resort is incredibly beautiful. Just a gem of a building. The pools and grounds are just simply stunning. The Rooms are great, well appointed, no complaints at all. They have a swim-able beach which is rare in this area, and the cabanas were immaculate (and very reasonably priced). However, the restaurant service was sub-par. It was so disappointing, that it affected the entire experience. The restaurants were all beautiful, and dining options / diversity were great, but all 4 experiences we had with service were underwhelming - ESPECIALLY the steakhouse. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... if you go to this resort DO NOT go there. Choose literally anything else. We alerted concierge, opentable, hostess, restaurant captain, etc that this was a 60th birthday... Seating was bad, service was mishandled, no birthday celebration (we had to remind them to bring a candle so we could sing happy birthday). The steak was overcooked, The seabass was so overcooked we had to send it back, and the "bernaise oscar" was just dry, shredded crab without any bernaise... it was dry and gross. Plus, it was brought out nearly 5 minutes after my steak was delivered! The person celebrating a birthday ordered the scallops main course - and it came out as a "side dish" in a small cast-iron ramekin. Extremely disappointing for what was the pinnacle event of celebrating a milestone birthday at this property. We expected to spend $500+ on dinner, but didn't expect the quality of a sizzler or outback steakhouse. When at a 4 diamond, brand-name resort - the reason we are selecting this resort is so this type of thing does not happen. We are counting on decent execution of a milestone birthday dinner. Comparable resorts in the area, the JW Marriott and Westin are both cheaper nightly costs, and would probably have delivered a better result. It's a shame because the beauty of this resort (one of the most beautiful in BCS) is hurt by the service level and food quality. Hotel's Favorite
This place is absolute heaven. I have been to Los Cabos 5 times and Hilton Los Cabos is hands-down the best hotel I have stayed at yet. The food, the view, the rooms - everything is wonderful, but THE STAFF is what makes it perfect. For me, the definition of vacation is mentally relaxing and not having to think about everything. The staff here made that happen - they looked out for us and that means the world. Our first meal was at Mio and Arturo took great care of us. Enjoying an adult meal with a knowledgeable, attentive server while our kids played nearby - that is how every vacation should start. The ahi poke bowl was one of the best I have had and the pizza...well, we ordered it every day so that tells you how yummy it was. Go with either the cheese or (beautiful) veggie. Seriously, SO good. Juan Carlos at breakfast became our family. He treated us like royalty and anticipated our needs. The food was delicious and of course the view is stunning, but what really made breakfast so special was him along with Ariana (hostess) who recognized us on the 2nd morning, went out of her way for us and was so sweet to our kids. Ricardo is one of the supervisors (I think) and he checked in on us every morning which I really appreciated. We did not need it because Juan Carlos took care of everything, but we felt extra special with Ricardo's attention. While waiting for our table at Lena (we did not make a reservation), we visited the lobby bar and were so happy we go to meet Valeria. She was great with our kids, made excellent recommendations and was just a doll overall. That smile could brighten anyone's day! We were enjoying everything so much that we lost track of time and our table was ready. Valeria offered to call the Lena team to hold our table for 20 minutes. Something so easy, but often overlooked - another element of a perfect vacation. We loved the ceviche - even my kids ate it and they are not into fish. If you like steak, treat yourself to the Tomahawk. My family is still talking about it, claiming it's the best meal of their lives. Restaurant steak is never good enough for my husband, but not this time - HEAVENLY. Mario was our server and like everyone else, could not have done his job any better. He was attentive, but not obtrusive and also great with our kids. The tiradito is also delicious and again, my kids ate it! The rooms - as perfect as everything else. Large, comfortable beds with a large, beautiful bathroom and a good-sized balcony- we could not ask for more. And the pools - something for everyone. The kids' pool is shallow enough for little ones to enjoy and let the parents breathe for a minute. The main pool and adults pool have a completely different vibe from the kids' pool, as they should, and they are in different areas of the resort so everyone can do their own thing. If you can stay here, do it. You will love it. Can't wait to go back.

Review Unfortunate to share our experiences with a beautiful hotel with some great staff. We tried to talk a manager in a constructive way but surprisingly have not heard back yet hence the review/poison pen letter. The place is a money grab from check in - they try and sell you on an upgrade that is in no way worth it. The timeshare people also try and get you at check in and were aggressive (it’s their job I get it). The welcome drinks promised never came but the timeshare guy got us again. The “cabanas” are costly and comfortable. Service was hit or miss and after paying for the cabanas you would think the service would be top notch. The wifi on the property does not work! If you have to use video conferencing you will have to be in a public area (the lobby has zero reception and rooms were spotty). Cabanas and pool area have limited reception too. Gym is legit but small for the amount of people staying. The only place you can find water for free is in the gym but you HAVE to workout haha. Waters are $5 and with the heat that is dangerous for old peeps. Happy hour for the altamara upgrades 5-6. Gerardo was working hard to accommodate everyone. It’s outside the gym on a cool little patio. Too many people for one server but he was awesome. Food is good. Breads and pizzas are made in a brick oven and fire. Drinks were interesting as I had about 10 “la playita” and all were different lol. While it is one of the few places you can swim out front, there are rips and swell. Lifeguards are on it but don’t be a kook and go wherever. Some dudes came back from partying at 2am and brought the party back- it’s cabo right on. We called down to ask them to take it inside and “security was already coming”. One hour later security never came. Save your receipts as we’re finding random charges. After being in cabo 10x in recent years, I can confidently say there are better hotels in the area for less. Other reviews of mine will show.

My husband and I loved this property! The food is spectacular, and not just for hotel food. The breakfast was splendid with lots of Mexican and Continental Breakfast options. We dined at Vela and had some of the best pasta I've had in awhile. The pools are fantastic. The main pool gets a little lively but if you want some quiet, we actually found it at the family pool. There's a small pool with a slide for kids and a kids club that takes reservations. We brought our 1 yr and her floaty and she was all the rage at both pools so we felt welcomed. The beach is beautiful and there's a small area for swimming though it's not recommended due to the strong waves. The rooms are clean, large we had a balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff is A+++, so kind, friendly and helpful. We loved it and will definitely be back!!

The property is beautiful and everything you expect with a Hilton property; however, this location lacks in the quality of customer service. I am writing this on day two of my four day trip. I am spending the day by the pool with my friends. We didn’t reserve a cabana as we were told the hotel was only at 65% capacity. We found a great spot by the beautiful infinity pool. A service offered service to the couple sitting to our left. I thought we were next so I made eye contact and smiled, but the server walked pass us and offered service to the couple to our right. I said, “excuse may…” I was immediately told he would come back. HE NEVER CAMe BACK. When he brought drinks to the people beside us, I raised my hand to request service and I was ignored. I thought maybe it was just this server so I decided to go to the swim up bar. I sat at the stool for 8 minutes (I timed iT), and a nice couple sat next to me. Within seconds they were offered service. I had to say I was here first and have been waiting. I returned to my lounge area and asked my friend if the server ever came back, and no he did not. One hour later we were hungry. I saw that there was a QR code for the menu and scan to see what I like. I stood and walked over to a server and he said that he would send a server to our area. We wait for 12 minutes and saw the server walk to the couple beside us. We raised our hands and was ignored again. I asked out loud to my friend if it was just us, and an African American couple 6 lounges away said they have had the same experience too and the wife noticed that I was trying to flag someone for service. I probably should have started with saying that I am a person of color and wondering if that could be it. I hate saying that my ethnicity could be a reason why we aren’t not getting service but if other people of color are telling they are having the same experience…WTF. I am seriously thinking of checking out and staying at one of those horrible timeshare properties because I’d rather sit Through one of those sales pitches than be ignored all day. I have been a Hilton honors member for decades and a vacation club owner and this is the first time I have experience this. I can’t blame it on the Hilton name it maybe it is the culture of the management at this particular Hilton is to blame. Some training is required or how about offer services to all guest and not just the white ones. Do better hilton Los Cabos.

This resort is one of my favorites in Cabo! The friendly staff, tasty food, stunning views and exceptional service differentiates it from the others. We have been there many times and plan to keep visiting in the future Special thank you to the pool team (Diego, Frank and Jorge of the Jungle) for running to serve people! Chef Mauricio has created a diverse and very tasty selection of great food at the restaurants! The Hilton can also handle both large and small groups with the ability to make it look easy with no complications! Luis and the banquets team were outstanding. Catalina, Rodrigo, and Sergio in security provided impressive customer service and were always there when needed. Special recognition to the bell staff and the front desk team led by Alfredo for a smooth check in and check out. I cannot say the same for the new Mexican government VAT process. The special customer service attitude at the Hilton heart starts with the general manager and has defined that unique culture throughout the entire team! The entire experience was such a pleasure and very relaxing. I highly recommend this resort for business and leisure travel.

Well, for starters, as much as I enjoy the Hilton brand, I will not likely be staying here again. My husband and I knew that it was not an all inclusive hotel, but for the prices that are charged for any, and every dish, be prepared to pay exorbitant amounts of money for it. All of the restaurants that they have here on the property are not open at the same time and sadly, certain nights that we were prepared to Eat at one of the restaurants, they would tell you that it was only taco Tuesday night and you had no other option but to spend $50 all you can eat on tacos. And that is per person! The limited options did not work for me and my husband and found ourselves taking Uber’s into Los Cabos quite frequently just to get full and not break Our budget. Another thing I did not like was upon getting there, they bombard you with time share offers. Not only did I find that aggravating but it’s also very distracting when you’re trying to navigate just simply checking in. Lastly, The receptionist that helped us check in never indicated what the incidental hold amount would be. Not until she attempted to run my card for an additional $1400 was I told that this was an incidental, $400 a night charge/hold. When I explained that I have never had to put that amount of money on my card for incidentals, she stated that it was “optional “ which is frustrating, because she could have said that it was optional from the beginning, The hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was ocean front so we were able to get the beautiful waves and coolness at night and the beautiful sunrise in the morning . All in all this is a very comfortable exquisite resort and the staff is hospitable. room was very comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful for whatever you need, and our room was cleaned sometimes twice a day! Our fourth stay at Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort/La Pacifica (HGV) did not disappoint. We experienced perfection at every step! The resort is exquisite and very well-maintained. The rooms are well-appointed and spacious. We stayed in a one-bedroom on the LaPacifica side. It was clean, spacious and comfortable - a home away from home! Housekeeping was exceptional. Our room had a wonderful, fresh smell after each refresh. The resort chefs are unbelievable. We are NOT foodies; but we can’t say enough about the dining experience. Some say the food is pricey. Maybe by Mexican standards it is. But not by American standards - and it is certainly not overpriced for the quality. The food service staff is most accommodating. Suzie, the receptionist during breakfast at Talavera, was very pleasant - offering a beautiful smile to start our day. The pool staff ensured our comfort every day of our stay. Jorge and Diego, pool butlers, are pleasant, funny and attentive. They lead a wonderful team of pool attendants. Jorge, one of the attendants, was particularly good - ensuring we wanted for nothing as we relaxed poolside enjoying the whales playing in the water off the beach. We absolutely LOVE Hilton Los Cabos/La Pacifica and have already reserved a return visit. Next time, we will be celebrating my sister’s birthday and enjoying the outstanding hospitality the resort offers. Hope to see you there! Happy travels!!!!
