Hilton Los Cabos garners mixed reviews for its lively atmosphere, with some guests enjoying the entertainment, while others crave a quieter ambiance. Strategically located with a stunning beach and vistas, the hotel is celebrated for its cleanliness and impressive amenities, including the beach and pools. While guests appreciate the spacious, clean rooms with remarkable views, there are mentions of the need for more modern furnishings. Service is generally praised, though not without some reported hiccups. Despite the quality on offer, reviewers often find the prices steep, questioning the overall value.

We had a refreshing vacation here inspite of a short 3 day stay for spring break. It’s a well maintained, clean property with lots of Mexican details to it. The room was immaculate with oversized bathroom that included a jacuzzi bath tub, his and hers sink, stand alone shower and a separate toilet . The room was equipped with Microwave and a refrigerator (moldy inside) but no coffee maker . The patio overlooking the ocean was a big plus . The pool side and beach areas had ample chairs for families to hang out. This is the only property so far in our experience where all the restaurants had amazing food and ambiance. My family enjoyed the spa experience and the products used were top notch.
The cons here and the reason for 4 stars :
Front desk did not communicate about what’s included and not at breakfast. We were charged additional 15$ each for Desayuno that we were unaware of. (But the extra charge was worth it for what it had to offer ).
The staff at taco station in the morning did not use gloves and touched cheese and raw veggies with same bare hands cross contaminating the ingredients. Even if the tacos were delicious, we were grossed out.
Sanitary standards have to be upgraded and staff must be trained. Also spotted the staff eating at the station when serving food at same time.
Food was delicious at Vela but did not match the description ( white bean was missing from the soup) , tortita missing for California steak tortita on Taco Tuesday and the cauliflower was undercooked and not roasted well . The corn ribs at Lena were not palatable as they were either frozen or toasted .
But overall, a fantastic experience. We would again holiday here whenever in Cabo .

Dear poonambhat, Thank you! We were thrilled to host your Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort spring break! With so much to do on property, we have created a little world of our own where you may swim on our beach, watch the whales, while away the hours in any one of our infinity pools, enjoy cocktails at our pool bar or our lobby bar, indulge in treatments at our Eforea Spa, play a few rounds of Golf, relax in our cabanas, partake in indulgent and exquisite dining in any one of our restaurants and the list never ends. It is a delight to set a new standard for your ideal luxury resort. That said, we are deeply disappointed to hear of the inconsistencies you encountered during your dining experiences. Undeniably, this was not representative of our normally impeccable service and all corrective actions have been made to ensure our very high standards are met in the future. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back in the not-too-distant future. Regards, Raul Aguilera, GM

We chose Hilton Los Cabos for our wedding venue, and it did not disappoint. The rooms were spacious and cleaned twice a day, food + drinks were incredible (with so many options at their various restaurants), spa was large and luxurious + the massages were so incredibly relaxing (HLC also offers massages in a cabana on the beach which we almost did but didn't have time for!), pools were modern and luxurious, and being able to swim in the ocean thanks to their protected cove was a huge win (we typically can't get in the ocean in Cabo due to rough waters/beaches, but HLC is an exception). We can't wait to come back!

My husband and I returned to Hilton Los Cabos for our honeymoon after visiting earlier this year. As usual, the service was impeccable and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food is still the best food I’ve experienced in my life —fresh, flavorful, creative. My husband surprised me with a private four course dinner on the beach with wine pairings and a private firework show! It was spectacular and the concierge staff did a great job putting it all together. Alfonso, our waiter, was absolutely amazing! Although I was overcharged for a room upgrade and the front desk was not helpful nor professional (this is very out of character from our previous experience), the manager, Antonio, called me directly and resolved the charge in less than 24 hours. This is a place we hope to return to on a regular basis with our family and friends in the future!

Dear Laurensully56, We were delighted to welcome you back to Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort! Thank you for choosing us as the location to celebrate your honeymoon, and for taking the time to write such a fabulous review. May I also take this opportunity to congratulate you on your wedding?! It is wonderful that you dined on the stretch of beach that we are fortunate to have. It is a phenomenal experience with the most attentive and anticipatory service and culinary delights, wine, and cocktails. The experience is heightened by the backdrop of our absolutely picturesque and unobstructed views of the Sea of Cortez. That said, we are sincerely disappointed and apologetic that the situation regarding the charges for your upgrade was not handled well. Indeed, this is an anomaly. Mindfulness and an unwavering commitment to exceptional service are fundamental to our ethos. I am overjoyed that I was able to resolve this promptly and effectively. We are looking forward to hosting many of your future vacations and anniversaries. Kind regards and safe travels, Antonio Bugarin, General Manager

Beware and make an inquiry before you book, if they are hosting large groups of young men (200-300), DO NOT GO! We booked a week and upgraded to Altamar in an Ocean Front Plunge Pool Room. What we expected was a nice romantic relaxing week in paradise, as advertised. What we got was the pool and bar being overrun by obnoxious drunk your men, all part of the Vivint Group. During our stay, 3 groups came and went, each time a group left the remaining guests were thrilled only to find out a day later another 200 would arrive and take over. This group is more suited to a Carnival Cruise or a Party Hotel, not the Hilton. Many couples were complaining about the noise, drunks, and rowdy pool activity.

The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the staff was outstanding. I would be giving them 5 stars if we had not had to deal with the obnoxious large groups.

Be prepared to spend big $$$ on food and beverage, a glass of wine in the evening $22. We had a Diet Coke, a beer, bottle of water and nachos at the pool $50. The cab prices are set by the cab union and those are sky high too, use your Uber app and save 50% of the cost. We went to San Jose Del Cabo 3 times and had wonderful dinners that were not overpriced, La Lupetia's Tacos and Jazmines - both great options. The breakfast buffet was included with our room and it is the only option for breakfast, $40 PP - you can not order from a menu. I listen while a guest pleaded her case as she only wanted toast - nope. The breakfast buffet was overwhelmed by all the young men in the group.

You are not near a store or any other options for food or drink, the neighboring property is all inclusive.

I will note that upon check out I detailed our experience to the Altamar Client Services. Once at home we did receive an apology notice with an offer for 2 days complimentary for future. The only way I would go back is if I was 100% assured no large groups. We have been loyal to Hilton since the 80's and were truly disappointed in their decision to host this type of group at this hotel that is advertised as relaxing and tranquil. I follow Hilton Los Cabos on Instagram and FB and at not time did I see them advertise a party atmosphere and that is exactly what we experienced, shame on the management for allowing this type of behavior.

Dear terrilynn42, Thank you for sharing your observations. Our team is frequently honored with heartfelt praise for their professionalism and attentive care, making it particularly disheartening to learn that, due to the presence of a larger group, we fell short of the high standard you expected. Our hosts are typically attuned to preserving a serene and harmonious atmosphere for all guests, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us continuously monitor, refine, and elevate the quality of our service. Your comments regarding your breakfast experience have been conveyed to our culinary team. We will ensure that our servers provide more detailed guidance on breakfast selections to enrich the dining experience for our valued guests. Our reviews stand as a testament to the extraordinary experiences that define Hilton Los Cabos, and we hope the gesture of a complimentary two-day stay serves as a sincere expression of our dedication to your complete satisfaction. We deeply value your constructive feedback, as it holds great importance for us. Despite your disappointment, it would be our utmost pleasure to welcome you back to Hilton Los Cabos and provide you with an experience that fully embodies our commitment to excellence. Cabo is beautiful but this hotel has some real issues. For starters, it’s not in Los Cabo, it’s a 30 minute Uber ride away and there is nothing around it. This facility does not recognize Hilton Honors members. Both me and my wife are Diamond members; no complimentary breakfast ($26 USD per person/per day), no free Wi-Fi ($12 USD per day/per device), no bottled water ($4 USD per bottle), no airport shuttle ($35 USD Uber/one-way), no room selection ($100+ USD to upgrade to a higher floor), and even the lounge chairs next to the pool cost extra. The least expensive entrée in any of the restaurants was a pulled pork sandwich for $25 USD (no sides) and the prices rose significantly from there. Our coffee pot did not work until it was replaced 3 times/2 days later, the inside bathroom door handle was not attached, and the rug over the tile was peeling up. But the biggest problem at this hotel are the safety concerns and managements attitude about it. Our room did not have a smoke detector and the emergency exit signs throughout the hotel had been removed. The bathroom flooded whenever you drained the tub because the floor drain is higher than the rest of the bathroom (very slippery). Whenever you ran the microwave and the coffee pot or toaster at the same time, the rooms circuit breaker would trip. The ceiling fan light and the closet light would come on randomly throughout the day and night. We spoke to the front desk multiple times and called the Hilton Diamond desk to address our safety concerns (Case #173740921). The hotel manager seemed offended by our concerns and took no action to assist us. So the bottom line is that we stayed in an poorly maintained, overpriced hotel with electrical issues, no smoke detectors, few exit signs, and a non-helpful management team. On the bright side: the views are beautiful and the maids do a great job but, this location falls well short of what we normally expect from a Hilton Resort or any other resort.

Dear chriscK3252KE, We would like to thank you for taking the time to review your experience with Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort. We are saddened to learn that your visit fell below your expectations and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It would seem that while you enjoyed the immeasurable beauty of our location, sweeping views, and meticulous care of our housekeepers, you also encountered some complications that proved unsatisfying on numerous levels. Yours is the first report of these issues but we will certainly task our Operations team to examine your guest room and take the necessary measures of prevention - we thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. We have noted all other comments and we will be partnering with the appropriate teams to review further. We are appreciative of your loyalty to Hilton and we hope that this atypical occurrence does not hinder you from choosing to stay with us in the future. We welcome all feedback, both positive and negative, as this can only assist with our aims to provide an unsurpassed next experience. Please do consider staying with us again for a more enjoyable time. Kind regards, Sergio Bocci, General Manager

One of the most beautiful resorts I have ever stayed at! We had a maintenance issue with our room at check in so we couldnt get into our room for about 2 hours after we arrived, the staff felt very bad for this and booked us a free meal the next night at one of the restaurants. Food was amazing on site. Many pools to choose from and a swimmable beach. They come clean your room twice a day and provide free water in the room, which is a nice touch.

My main complaint is that the drink prices were very high and there is no convenient store on site! A beer was $9USD and a regular mixed drink $18-20USD. If you are staying multiple days and are worried about pricing then I would say to taxi into the town on the first day to stock up on drinks and snacks. If we had done that then there wouldnt be any complaints from me!

All the excursion tours we did picked us up and dropped us off so being farther from the town wasnt an issue for us.

Dear Nomad11869750724, Thank you for your patronage, and I am thrilled that our Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort surpassed your expectations. It is always exciting to read positive feedback from our guests, as it lets me know that we are holding true to our philosophy of providing personalized and extraordinary guest experiences. Our location is enviable as we are one of very few properties who boast a beautiful white sand beach with waters with a myriad of shades of blue, as well as, as you mentioned we are accessible to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Additionally, I am overjoyed that you were able to indulge in our fine restaurants and I look forward to seeing you continue your discoveries at our hotel. Kind regards, Raul Aguilera, GM

We enjoyed a nice few days at the resort. It was clean, the employees were nice, and overall the service was good. We thought it was worth what we paid.

I can’t speak to dinners on the property as we ate at other places each night, but the breakfast buffet was great. There were so many good options and if you get continental breakfast included with your stay, it was a small upgrade fee per person each morning to be able to enjoy the additional stations (omelette bar, Mexican specialties, french toast, etc). Lunches at Leña were good as well and the drinks were delicious! Of course everything was pricey, but we expected that. It was nothing too crazy.

Parking at the resort is free so we rented a car at the airport which made things easy. It was very easy to get to other restaurants and go into town when we wanted to as the hotel is in a good location. And we avoided having to pay high prices for airport transfers.

Make sure to get down to the pool EARLY to secure chairs. By 9am, there was nothing left and we had to go to the beach area instead. Even at 8am on another day it was tough to find chairs as it seemed like 50% of them were reserved not even with anyone’s personal items but paper signs. These signs were put there by the hotel for people staying in the best suites they offer. Countless times I noticed that these chairs, in the most desirable spots by the pool area and some with 5 or more chairs grouped together, would be reserved but were left empty and unused ALL DAY. I understand that there are additional amenities when booking the better rooms. However, it’s not fair to the other guests who actually want to spend their time at the pool and can’t find chairs. There should really be some kind of rule enforced to ensure that people use the chairs or give them up to others after a certain amount of time.

The only other complaint I have is that by mid-afternoon on at least 2 of the days we were there, there were no clean pool or beach towels available. And more than once I grabbed a “clean” pool towel with stains or rips.

Also, we never heard anything about the golf course this resort supposedly has and didn’t see it either…

I would stay here again if I came back to Cabo. The pools and beach are great and the resort itself is nice.

Response from Guest Experience, Guest Services / Front Office at Hilton Los Cabos
Responded Mar 27, 2023
Dear eb2241, I’m incredibly pleased to hear that you enjoyed so many aspects of your Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort visit, like our beautiful location, your dining experiences, and the legendary guest service on which we pride ourselves. We aim to make every visit to this stunning Resort as magical and memorable as can be, and so I’m sorry it didn’t echo the perfection we aim for. Staying at our hotel should be an experience that is unparalleled and while we trust that our beachfront location and sweeping views were impressive, we acknowledge your understandable disappointment with the unavailability of pool chairs. Clearly, it was not the indulgent relaxation you were seeking. As such, we will re-examine the pool chair reservation protocol. Your added comments regarding the pool towels are appreciated. I will advise my team to take the necessary measures to ensure these lapses are never repeated. Yours is the first report of this but we will certainly conduct the necessary inspections. The golf club is just across the street from the resort and we do have a golf concierge who is always pleased to set up tee times. We look forward to your next visit so that we can win your heart with a more flawless Hilton Los Cabos experience. Warm regards, Sergio Bocci, General Manager

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the deluxe tequila tasting in the Hilton Los Cabos. I’m not a big drinker and am pretty much considered a lightweight. Our bartender/instructor Julio was passionately knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and fun. It was $92 per person and we got to sample 4 generous pours of tequilas. Learning about the history of tequila has changed my outlook and I have so much more respect for the product and culture. It’s worth going if your partner/party can sling back the shots that you don’t finish. Make sure you have something in your stomach before going! I did not have the courage to try the grasshopper covered chocolate.

The hotel overall had excellent staff and service. Our concierge Oliver & Emil went above and beyond. I recommend the ALTA MAR (VIP) package which includes a lovely continental buffet every morning. The food in this hotel was delicious. A little pricey for the portions. Vela was our favorite restaurant. Fernando (who resembles Brad Pitt) was our spectacular sever who was always smiling. He & his assistant catered to all of our needs and was absolutely welcoming and hospitable. There was a live 2 person band that was entertaining. We ended up ordering drinks after dinner to stay longer just to enjoy their performance.

There was an expected power outage during one of our days. Unfortunately, it lasted longer than expected. 8A-6PM was on the notice but our lights, outlets, TV, phone etc in the room didn’t turn back on until 10:35PM! I couldn’t see/do anything.

All in all, we still had a great time and I definitely plan to visit again. It was so nice to be able to just walk down to the beach. The water was refreshing.

Beautiful property and amazing staff… however first morning here and we buy coffee at the bistro at the hotel. We asked for oat milk coffee and it was Un drinkable and boiling hot (which thins out the consistency of the milk) … 15 dollars for two. We asked if they could remake it with regular milk… flat out “no” !! Sometimes it’s the little things that can make all the difference

Have stayed here 4 times and will be back again. Ocean Front rooms have a great view and they are one of the only hotels in the corridor that has a swimmable beach. They have 3 pools, 1 infinity with a swim up bar, 1 adult only, and one by the kids center for families. Restaurants are very good. Food/Drinks a bit pricey...

Uber to San Jose for shopping/dinner cost us about $20 with tip.
