I had a wonderful time at this hotel. I came here alone with plans to study by the pool and occasionally wander San Jose del Cabo and it was perfect for that. It's nothing luxury, but clean and cute, with a great pool area and attached restaurant. My only critique is a lack of explanation of things upon checkin -...

Great resident cats (5) on site! The hotel cares for them very well leaving them dry food, and as I was told by reception, they are even spay/neutered, which was a great surprise! They're very sweet and won't bother you if you don't approach them. Bring wet food with you to leave for them. The hotel has food bowls near...

Charming Mexican "Boutique" hotel in the heart of the historic district. The charm of this hotel is entered around the pool area with Mexican statuary, a fountain and an outdoor fire pit. Additionally the restaurant and bar are historic in their details. The front of the hotel is right in the historic district and you can easily walk the entire...

Yeah it needs a bit of a make over. In fact it could be 'boutiqued' up quite easily but its got charm and the staff are brilliant. Rather stay here than the massive souless bricks on the beach full of Tequila partying 'Friends'! It's got location location location for the town and everyone's so friendly & helpful. Couple of downsides...

The rooms are very simple & clean with comfortable beds & colorful Mexican touches of decor... Think cleaned up motel 6 by American standards so you won't be disappointed. We stayed in room 14. The pool area is a peaceful oasis, super peaceful, relaxing, calm. If I go back, I'll spend more daily time there in the sunshine. The restaurant...

The best thing about the Tropicana Inn is its location - right on the main street in San Jose, near the plaza. That said, there are other positives: it's clean, friendly, and has fairly well equipped rooms, including Wi-fi and a small fridge. However, as one who uses a cane, I did not find it easy getting in and out...

Tropicana is lovely, and pretty welcoming when you first arrive. The rooms are pretty no-frill, but clean, and well stocked. The bed was hard and small for a couple. Consider that the 2- bed, room is closer the two full beds, not queens. Also, not sure if it was from walking around San Jose, but I left with bug bites...

LOVED staying here. The hotel is right in the center of town so you can walk everywhere. The guests mingle at the pool and become acquainted, not a stand offish place at all. Genuine staff that care, no need to get tags for your bag they know everyone and the owner is onsite. To top it off it's got one...

I stayed here on a recent girls trip and we enjoyed our stay. Clean and simple, nice pool area. The only thing I want to mention is we were NOT told that the front of the restaurant/hotel doors are locked at 11:30pm. Imagine our surprise when we returned late to see a sign on the door saying locked and to...

For years, San Jose del Cabo has been referred to as the quainter, more authentic Mexican sister town to Cabo San Lucas. That may still be true...but not as true as it used to be. San Jose del Cabo is rapidly morphing into Cabo North. I was last here 16 years ago and only the tiny core area around this...
