Breathless Cabo San Lucas Resort & Spa is celebrated for its prime location near the marina and downtown, offering stunning marina views and meticulously clean rooms. Although the lively atmosphere with music and entertainment is a hit among some guests, others find the noise level and party vibe less appealing.
The service at the hotel receives high marks for attentiveness, yet the value proposition is often criticized due to perceived overpriced offerings and pushy sales tactics. While the amenities are generally appreciated, there are mixed feelings about the spa and pool facilities.

Detailed Reviews
We noticed this place the last time we were in Cabo (2017), and said we were going to stay at the Breathless next time we visited, so we did. It was easy to like right away, except for the guy who was showing us the map and resort credits. He was for sure a time share person, but didn't exactly say that, but we knew! We just wanted to get to our room and go to the pool!
The room was the best we ever had at an AI, and the bathroom was set up nice, the pillows were good, the bed was comfy, the view of the marina was great, and the room was quiet and never smelled musty. Honestly, it was the best room we ever had in all of our trips to Mexico.
The pool area is great, and I never once got up early to take towels down to the chairs, because they were always available when we went down at 8 or so. The towels are rolled up on tables, so there are no towel keys to worry about, and you could use however many you wanted to. It's nice to look over the infinity wall and marina, watching the seals and the boats go in and out, and the activities people were fun and entertaining. The music could be toned down a little bit, with more variety, but the temp was good. Christian was our waiter everyday I think, and we never waited long for a drink. Another waiter took our order one time, and my hubby told him the regular Modelo, and Christian actually brought us the dark, because he knew that's what we were drinking prior to that, so he knew! The quiet pool was nice in the later afternoon, totally relaxing!
Bites was good the first and second time we ate there, but the service was a little slow, and the breakfast came out slow. The third time we ate there, it was really slow, and not so good. I tried 3 different things there for breakfast, and one time for lunch. The buffet was good, and Fishnets was also. We ate at the Italian place once, and it was OK, but smaller portions. We mostly ate out in the marina for dinner, because you just have to try it all, and the other places are delish.
All of the staff were exceptional, and the service was great. We never had any issues, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The location is super, and we never once took a cab because we walked everywhere. I would love to see a 1-3 piece band in the lobby bar during the early evening like some other places have, but it was a new experience and well worth the money!

This is one of the cleanest and well run resorts we have traveled to - the location is awesome as you are right in the marina and wharf activities and also direct access to the beach where you can snorkel. There are scenic views of the mountains and the beach in the two different pool locations. We watched sea lions in the marina from our balcony and sting rays jumping out of the water off the beach during dinners along the shoreline. The staff namely Gilberto, Carlos, Allen, and Ricardo were awesome and put in a lot of effort to get to know you and service was fast and exceeded our expectations. You have service at the pool and the beach and can also order food and snacks- which was awesome! Room service was quick and great for breakfast with balcony doors that slide open to feel like you are eating outdoors! The room bar was stocked daily and twice a day service to your room. The gym was equipped with all needed equipment. This adult only resort allows you to relax or party whichever you prefer there is something for everyone and fun for couples who like to explore the local area!

We went to Breathless Cabo location for Christmas and New Years. Wow! Words can not express what a phenomenal trip trip experience we had. The location is perfectly located right on the swim beach and at the marina where all the excursions go out from.
The staff made the experience unforgettable! Stephani from the entertainment team was a sexy ball of energy always getting the party going, not to mention easy on the eyes. Luna & Javier were always mixing up the daily entertainment and so fun to have around. The resident DJ played a great mix of music and there was a quiet pool option if not feeling the party vibe. Daniel and Michelle were the main two servers at the pool and were very attentive to keeping our drinks filled and remembering what we liked.
The crowd was a good mix of young professionals looking to get into a little mischief. Made several new friends that we look forward to seeing again next year.
Although I personally was not concerned about it, the hotel also did a nice job frequently sanitizing the main areas as well as our room. All of the staff members were wearing masks the entire time.
The food was pretty good considering that it is an all inclusive. It would have been nice to see a little more variety for room service and poolside options. Likely more limited due to covid buffet restrictions. Drink options were great and included more than the basic well vodka you find at most all inclusive resorts.
I was worried a bit about the noise from reviews I saw prior to coming down but didn’t find it be a problem at all.
Overall, one of the best trips I’ve been on. Huge thank you to the entire team for making it such a great experience!

My wife and I stayed at Breathless Resort to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 20th wedding anniversary this week. Of course, there was some apprehension about travelling, but I can honestly say we felt safer at the resort/Los Cabos than we do back here in the states. The Los Cabos community takes the virus more seriously than Americans and it shows. The resort was very clean and everything is sanitized throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is used before anything is given or received. It definitely increased our comfort level.
The resort was more than we expected and we really appreciated the 30% occupancy cap. I think it made things more enjoyable. The food and service were great. Mariano, Alan, Vianey and Gilberto never let us down. Went to the spa twice and the care and safety on each visit was excellent. While the night life officially ended at 11pm, thanks to a few new friends the party continued with our own music a few nights.
I must say there were two negatives about Breathless. First issue is the description of the room. We booked the Xhale Club Master Suite with a marina view. The suite itself is great, but the view is compromised, and the only way you can see the marina is if you stand on the ledge. If you sit in the chairs all you see is hotel landscape which is more so for the privacy of the suite balcony. The other issue occurred two days before our departure when I inquired about extending our stay one additional night. I was informed there was only one available room in the entire hotel and it was the category above our suite with a one-night cost of $1100 plus taxes. Of course, we were disappointed especially considering the hotel was only at 30% occupancy. Unfortunately, our disappointment did not end there. On the next day we learned from a couple we met that they made the same request one day later and they were informed a room was available and was even given an upgrade on their room request which was not the $1100 room we were invited to move to. Wish Breathless would have extended us the same courtesy especially since we asked one day earlier and the hotel was not at capacity.

So we went for my best friends bachelorette. We were a group of 4 so not that big. The hotel wasn't that' full which was great and they were very cautious with Covid and sanitizing and temperature checks, we felt very comfortable. The employees were great throughout. Unfortunately everything closed at 11pm in our area in cabo- downtown was still open - which was really annoying. The food at the hotel was okay - nothing to write home about. Certain things were good one day and horrible the next because I guess every day they have a different chef. First day oatmeal was great second day it was hospital food and inedible. Luckily it's all you can eat so we wouldn't eat what wasn't good and would order other items. We felt a bit wasteful but some things were horrendous. Alcohol wise it was bad. I would probably take my own alcohol if I went again. Their well or house drinks were really bad. At the pool we would get bottle service but for paying as much as we did, you would think that they would have at least some good options, but no. We ate dinner at the hotel the first night, food was bland. I know they're trying to appeal to a wide variety of guests but SOME seasonings like salt and pepper should be okay to use. The rest of the 4 days we went out to eat on the marina and other restaurants in the area. We didn't mind paying because the hotel food just wasn't doing it for us. Also, you need to drink to have a good time so we went to the local bars around the marina to get normal, decent alcohol and to have a good time cus the sugary drinks at the hotel were horrible. So overall I would go back, but they should definitely fix the food and alcohol problem because that's a main reason people choose to stay at a hotel, especially if they don't care to leave.
Location wise, it's great as it has direct access and private chairs on the beach along with food and drink service so we loved that. Overall great hotel, food and drinks need A LOT of work.

Dear Ambassador813643 Thank you for your candid feedback! I am glad that you felt safe and very comfortable during your stay with our new protocols and that you saw that all of us were taking every precaution to ensure your safety. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your overall experience and our staff made your feel at home. This is really one of the things that we try to maintain in our resort. On the other hand, It's important to mention that we are following the regulations of the Mexican government that establishes the opening until 11:00 p.m. maximum. I am sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our food and beverages. This has been communicated to our Executive Chef and he has already taken notes to personally supervise what may have happened. Saying this, we would love it if you could give us a second chance to show you the true quality of our culinary options. We hope to see you back soon! Karen Camacho Social Media Coordinator

I stayed at Breathless Cabo San Lucas for 5 days and I could literally stay there forever! It's really hard to pin point which one was my favorite part, as there are so many, but one of my absolute favorites is the view and the food! My room had an amazing view and at night you can often watch the fireworks while sipping champagne. When it comes to restaurant, literally everything I tried was delicious, but my favorite was definitely Ocote and the dark chocolate tamale dessert. I also love the Breakfast at the bites bar (especially Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs).
For the first 2 days of my stay, I decided to stay at the pool in the building where my room was as it's more calm and then I move onto the second building where there was a DJ and lots of cool drinks and activities. I also ended up swimming in the Ocean which is conveniently located only few steps away and in my opinion is the calmest part of the beach you'll find in Cabo San Lucas (no crazy waves). I also did Sauna/Steam Room in Spa daily and one of the best part is the view you have from their Jacuzzi. The only thing better than all of this is the service which was impeccable, everyone was so friendly, nice and helpful! This is by far my favorite hotel in Cabo San Lucas and probably one of my fav in the world so look no further!
P.S. The hotel has very high standards when it comes to sanitizing everything, they even sanitize your luggage upon the arrival. I felt 100% safe at all times

We stayed at breathless for three nights and overall we were pleased with our stay. The resort is located in the marina so it is perfect to avoid taking taxis and it is a short walk to a lot of great restaurants, boat tours and shopping areas. The grounds of breathless is different from other resorts as it is just two buildings. The first building houses all the rooms/suites and has the lobby, one smaller pool, bar and a casual restaurant (Bites). The other building has the main pool, spa, gym, other restaurants and has direct access to the beach. Although it is just a couple steps away, you will encounter vendors while walking between the two.
We booked an Xhale club suite (just the basic studio suite) which came with daily breakfast and as advertised on the website, a "$200 resort credit". It should be noted that use of the resort credit is limited and not super easy to use. For example, you can only use up to $60 for romantic dinner, $60 for a spa service and up to $10 per bottle of wine (up to 4 bottles). We did not do all inclusive due to the proximity of the resort to outside restaurants. However, with the xhale club tier, we were able to get drinks for no charge at their lounge with is located near the room elevators.
All the rooms at breathless have a great view of the marina with a west facing window allowing a ton of sunlight to come in. The bathroom was spacious and has a dual vanity, but only has a rainfall shower (no shower wand). You can hear some noise coming from the marina, including sea lions, but it didn't bother us.
We didn't spend a lot of time at the pool area but it was very lively with a DJ and the attendants greeted us right away to get us a towel and offer us drinks.
With the xhale club, you also entitled to use the wet areas of the spa. We were told to make a reservation and we were the only ones there. It was very nice to have the entire place to ourselves. Marina, the spa manager was great! She was there after our time in the steam room and sauna to provide fresh towels and water. There is also an outdoor jacuzzi at the spa which overlooks the beach and the main pool.
Since we wanted to use some of the resort credit, we booked a romantic dinner on the beach which has a regular price of $199. I didn't find the food to be anything special but the ambience and set up was spectacular. It was very quiet, private and indeed romantic. I don't think I would recommend it at full price though. As mentioned earlier, we didn't have all inclusive so the only other restaurant we ate at was Bites, which was great for breakfast.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay but $342 per night seemed a little steep considering there are so many options in Cabo. If you are looking for a lively resort however, this one to be at.

Do you want to be in the heart of all the action? Then Breathless Cabo San Lucas is for you! I love this resort and continue to come back year after year! The location on the Marina is top notch- you can walk out and be in town in less than 10 minutes. Walking the marina in the morning for exercise is also fantastic.
The Marina Pool ( Quiet Pool) is the place where I spend the majority of my pool time! Christian Cesena is at the top of his game as the pool wait staff. After your first day he knows you and your drink preferences- my glass was never empty as he always had my next drink ready- and he reminds you to put on sunscreen and eat lunch! The pool side lunch menu is great and quick! I could look at the marina and people watch all day!
The rooms are nicely appointed and all amenities are provided in sealed bags that no one has previously handled. The remote and tablet are also sanitized and sealed prior to your arrival. They have put great protocols in place and as they get more clients on property the elevators could be an issue as they only allow 2 people at at time.
This is my go to for adults on in Cabo! Already planned out next year! #totalaccesstravelco Thank you!!!!

We stayed 3 nights at Breathless Cabo San Lucas. The arrival area is in a dark alley, and is not impressive. Valet parking is mandatory. But once you check in, and take the elevator upstairs, everything is nice and bright.
We were in room 1511, which was a room closest to the elevator. It made it easy to run down for (premium) drinks at the 24 hour (!) lobby bar. And the coffee cafe was also open 24 hours down there.
The room had a king bed, TV, A/C, 2 chairs and a small couch, eye level electronic safe, 1 cup exprsso coffee maker, 2 robes, iron and ironing board, and a small fridge filled with Corona beer, soda, water, and cream for coffee. There were lots of plugs in the room for charging things.
The bathroom had frosted glass doors for both the toilet and the shower. Not the best for privacy. The shower was huge, with only a rain shower head.
The balcony overlooked the marina, and had two wide chairs and a table. There is only a pedestrian walkway between the hotel and the marina.
We used the quiet pool almost exclusively. I did go (outside) to the other building to check out the party pool. It lived up to its' name.
At the party pool, about 4 staff members approached one couple, and after a minute of conversation, they sprayed the couple with a couple of bottles of champagne!
Not sure what the occasion was, but I've never seen that done before.
We mostly ate at Bites restaurant, because the food was good, and it was close. My girlfriend has trouble walking, so we only did the hike to the other restaurants once. We would order room service for breakfast.
Watching all the goings on at the marina was fascinating. We could see it from our balcony and the quiet pool. And seeing the occasional sea lion just made it that much better.
Never felt the need to pay for Xhale privileges, as it seemed you only got use of the Xhale lounge for the price. And with premium liquor at the lobby bar, there didn't seem to be any need to go to the lounge.
We would stay here again.

Enjoyed our time at Breathless- it’s adults only and we cane at a time where people are less staffed due to COVID.
First, the safety precautions were great. Almost too much. Anti bac everywhere, temperatures taken, all staff in masks, they wipe and disinfect everything before you sit anywhere.
Second, the staff was great. In particular, I want to give a shout out to Alberto who is originally from the Dominican Republic. It was like having a personal concierge. He made sure to let us know about all the events, call and make arrangements when we wanted something, and was very approachable.
As a tip, if you are going on a weekend, I highly suggest renting in advance a bed by the pool. Friday is the busiest day. The price varies but it’s typically $150 which includes a bottle- well worth it.
