We have stayed at The Cape (a Thompson and now Hyatt hotel) 3 prior time to Covid. A boutique luxury get away with idyllic setting, style and quality. Unfortunately in late 2019 the brand was naught by Hyatt and it seems the commercial machine of weddings and Hyatt reward members has taken a 5 star escape to become a low 3-4 star experience . The hotel itself is showing its age, with once styled concrete now failing and broken, and metal architecture wearing and rusting (as is inevitable, when sadly not maintained). The Hyatt machine of making this a wedding destination is something for all travelers to be aware of. In a 5 day escape (Sunday to Friday) there were 4 weddings, which include pool party DJ’s and closed off roof top bars - both of which were always the exclusive benefits of coming and being able to enjoy.. sadly no more. What was a premier destination for those wanting to escape it all is now a family party scene with inflatables in the once revered beauty of the infinity pool. The partying is so invasive in our stay management recompensed us for nights of unrest. (Unfortunately we had invited friends to this trip not knowing the new reality so all the more saddening) If you want a group wedding party discounted experience coupled with Hyatt member rewards goers… this is the place for you. For those seeking exclusivity that once was… back to Esperanza or The one and only Palmilla. One saving Grace - the staff are lovely, although again does feel all the lighter side of guest to staff ratio compared to the past.…
We stayed at this beautiful resort for 3 heavenly days! I only have good things to say about this amazing resort! We were celebrating our anniversary & they went above & beyond to look after us. The rooms are luxurious & all have an ocean view I think. Swinging day bed on the balcony. Just incredible from start to finish…. I would highly recommend this resort if you are lucky enough to be in Cabo! Thank you to all the lovely staff at The Cape for making our stay so memorable & wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Yet another amazing trip to The Cape! Rocio, our concierge has assisted us on multiple trips and is a huge part of why we return. She truly goes above and beyond to make the stay perfect. The true kindness and hospitality the staff shows is too notch. Lenny, Jose and Bull at the pool remembered us from past trips and once again treated us like VIP. Breakfast at the Ledge is one of our favorites and the avocado toast is to die for. We enjoyed food at the pool bar and Manta lounge and all of it was excellent. From beginning to end The Cape made every day feel special and the resort has truly become like a second home to us. We can’t wait to return and are already planning our next trip! Thank you to Mr Segura and staff for always making our trip one to remember.
I enjoyed four nights at The Cape last week. It was probably my fifth or sixth visit, but the first in about three years. I travel a lot, and it was one of my favorite hotels in the room. And that has not changed! It felt so great to return "home" to The Cape. I was initially drawn to the beautiful, modern design. If the photos are appealing, you'll love it...it's better in person. And the location could not be better...you are right on the water, with every room having an amazing room. I love just laying on the day bed on the balcony listening to the waves crash onto the shore. And I could watch the surfers doing their thing all day. The food is consistently delicious and there they have delicious craft cocktails made with care. But what really makes The Cape special is the service! The entire staff is so helpful and friendly. It's five-star service, but not stuffy at all. The folks at this hotel are kind and caring. I visited on my own, and the staff made me feel comfortable and right at home. I spent most of my time at the amazing pool. Jaime the concierge and Aldo the waiter was great. And a big shout out to Bull. Three years later, he remembered me by name. Every single person who works the pool is great...they work so hard and will make your day memorable. When I wasn't at the pool, the draw is the amazing spa. I've had several great deep tissue massages there, which I love. I had an issue during this trip, but Carolina and Ricardo were very professional and helpful. They solved the issue quickly, efficiently and well. Alex the attendant was very helpful, and a big shout out to Noel, one of the best massage therapists I've ever had. The front desk team is also great. Valentina in particular was so friendly and helpful. In short, you won't be disappointed by a stay at The Cape. I'm already contemplating my next trip back... :-)…
The hotel was amazing! Had great views of the Pacific, pool area was spectacular, restaurants were great and the staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Transportation to and from the resort to different events was also very well coordinated.
Heimi with the cabanas and victor with concierge are the only staff names we can remember, which is a shame because ALL of the staff were exceptional and deserve to be rewarded. The hotel itself is just incredible. Beautiful rooms and views, great restaurants, super fun pool experience, I could go on and on and on. And we are very picky, only staying in the best hotels around the world and The Cape was the best experience we've ever had.
A truly terrible experience. The hotel staff stole property from us. The management denied it and then when they learned it was true they covered it up. Too many great hotels in Cabo to risk a stay here.
First trip to Cabo and staying at the Cape was just magical. Poolside with the best view in the city. The Ledge, Manta and Rooftop are all 1st class dining experiences. The staff goes over and beyond to accommodate you and your guests.
This is my favorite hotel in Cabo, the views are amazing, I like that its not too big and not too crowded. The food is all the restaurant is amazing and its a short drive to town and other resorts. Highly recommend
My wife and I came to celebrate our honeymoon. We splurged for the $1500 a night panoramic suit and the suite was breathtaking upon arrival. However, issues quickly began to arise. Within 2 hours of arrival, our wedding cake was swarmed by ants in our room. Staff was accommodating in deep cleaning and offering an alt. Accommodation, but not aomething I would expect from such an expensive place. The hotel was way understaffed and we constantly felt like we were chasing staff down for service and nothing was personalized. We split our stay between Cabo Azul and Chileano bay and honestly, those are superior options.
