Hotel's Favorite
Even before we travelled we were investigating Cabo and this hotel. It did not disappoint. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the pools are stunning. If possible get a room facing the ocean - you won't regret it. All of the staff were so nice and accommodating! The front desk personnel "saved" us more than once and always had a smile on their faces! Most of our meals were at the buffet. The steakhouse was a disappointment, but the burgers out by the pools are super. There was always staff cleaning while we were there so never worried about Covid once, except when it was time to get tested to come back to the states! Even that was done smoothly at the hotel and was free of charge! We loved our time in Cabo and at the Riu Palace and hope to go back soon!

I have stayed at RIU Palaces many times (8-9). They are middle of the road. You get what you pay for. We did like RIU. Read down a bit money saving tip is coming :-) On this trip, we traveled with 22 people, including six teens between 13-17, no one under 13. This was the worst Riu experience ever! 1st off, the manager, Christina, is the most unprofessional person at an RIU I have ever talked to. She was too busy looking at her iPhone!!! I suggest they remove Christina and send her back to Spain on the next flight, where you can be rude to your customers!!! The Tip: if you are traveling with a young adult between 13-17, when you book, put them in the computer at 12. It will save you about $100 a day. Why do I say this? They do not get full access to the resort, so they should not have to pay the total adult price. There are two pools that young adults cannot access with swim bars. We don’t let our kids have alcohol, and we were not asking to let them drink alcohol. The two pools with swim-up bars have nice tables and places to hang out with friends. The large pool to the north has games for children, which is great if you have small kids. Christina, the most unprofessional manager ever, could barely look up from her Instagram to explain why young adults could not be in the pools. Since I have stayed at many RIUs so, I know Christina was not telling the truth that kids can’t be in any pool with a swim-up is not valid ( RIU Santa Fe middle pool!). Stayer beware. I would suggest picking one of the other similar hotels in the area if going with young adults. I have been to CABO 20+ times in the last ten years, but never to RIU again.

This is our second time to spend Thanksgiving at Riu Palace. We stayed in a king ocean view. The staff: waiters, housekeeping, bellman, reception, bartenders are excellent. Truly friendly, professional, exceptional 👏 love the property completely, plenty of space, multiple restaurants, activities, and even quiet space. As an all-inclusive it is good. My husband loved the food available and drinks (he could ask for just Tequila and limes on ice) If you are a bit selective about types of wine (like I am) it isn't great ( think airline, white or red?) But okay 🙂 Beautiful location, perfect for relaxing which was what we needed ❤️

Hotel Rio Palace in Cabo San Luca was amazing. Where do I start? Well, the food was phenomenal , I mean they had everything from caviar to crapes. Throughout the day they would have authentic Mexican treats like fruit with Tajin, mexican pastries and ice cream. There are several restaurants to dine in and reservations are not required. There is nightly entertainment . There are pool side activities for adults and children. There are 2 large pools, one seems to be a little more lively and the other one is very quiet. The kids club was very small and my daughter did not like it. She is a mature 8 year old. Lastly, the beach that is attached to the resort is very rough. No one was allowed to swim in it, something about the undercurrent. I felt a little bad about this especially since I traveled all the way from New York to get some sun and seawater. But aside from those 2 things I would definitely recommend this resort.

Lipitor. . They welcomed us back like we were family. Then Jessica on the activity staff was an absolute sweetheart. The others too many too mention were all fantastic. The Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas is a beautiful resort. The choices of places to eat are plentiful, food was divine, service was very good. Loved the drinks and the pool bars were lots of fun. Everyone was very friendly. We went next door to the Rui Santa Fe to party at the foam party. we had an amazing time. The biggest disappointment was not being able to swim in the ocean. The undertow of the ocean is too powerful to even consider swimming in the the ocean. And could not even sit on the beach the locals selling their wares are so pesty. they do not leave you alone and just keep calling out to you. But the 2 pools have lots of seats. Loved the resort!!! Rooms were nice, cleanliness was very apparent everywhere you went. If we could have swam in the ocean i would consider going back but with not being able to go into the ocean i would not return to this resort.

My husband and I just returned from another wonderful stay at the RIU Palace. This was our 5th stay at the Palace and it once again was amazing! Everything from checkin to checkout was seamless! Front desk check in with Antonio was quick. We arrived before check in, but left our luggage in the lobby, ate lunch and enjoyed the pool. Our room request could not be met, however, he gave us a room with a better view than we requested, room 3086. The ONLY downfall with room 3086 is it shares a wall with the LaVentana bar kitchen. It sounded like a construction zone during the working hours (which went until 2am). We approached Antonio to request a room change and he gave us room 3085 the next day, which also has an amazing view! From then on, it was very quiet in the room. Breakfast and lunch buffet, we highly recommend sitting in Jazim’s area. We haven’t seen her since 2019 and she recognized us right away. She is always so friendly and quick to remember what you drink. The food at breakfast and lunch didn’t disappoint. There is something there for everyone. We do recommend you try Pepe’s taco grill (by the party pool) for some good tacos! As for dinner, we mostly did the buffet as there is a large variety of food. We did eat at the steakhouse as we can always go for a nice steak. The filets we ordered were cooked to our liking. We enjoyed the “quiet” pool. It was pretty busy in the pool due to Santa Fe being closed, but it was never overly crowded. Angel was our server most of the time we were there and he was very attentive to our request and quick to get our drinks out. We suggest you take a thermal cup to keep your drink cold as the little plastic cups warm up (or just drink faster, i guess :) ) We enjoyed the LaVentana bar every evening before dinner and Jorge was very nice and friendly. He greeted us every evening and made sure we had our drinks promptly. As for the nightly entertainment, we did catch a show. The crew works very hard at putting on these shows, and it was entertaining. We booked a boat ride right there on the resort with Scuba Carribe (at the bottom of the stairs on the beach). We went over to lovers beach and Land’s End for a tour as it had been several years since we’ve been over there. Bernard was a fantastic captain! He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out a couple things we had not seen before. He took us around to the arch and answered any questions we asked. For reference his boats name is “The Blessing”. I highly recommend Luli at the resort photography department. We had her take photos and not knowing what to expect, she surpassed our expectations! She was so fun to work with and had ideas for pictures. The end product was AMAZING! She even captured us taking a selfie after our session was over. It was hard to pick photos from our session. Again, we had no issues from check in to checkout. Check out is always a bummer, but the transportation was on time and got us back to the airport in ample time to get checked in. We will DEFINITELY be back for a 6th visit!
