Nestled in a picturesque setting, Hyatt Vacation Club at Sirena del Mar is lauded for its tranquil location and stunning views, providing a serene escape close to local attractions. While many travelers appreciate the spacious rooms and breathtaking views, concerns about room maintenance and aging decor have been noted. The resort's lively atmosphere, including Mexican fiestas and warm welcomes, is a highlight, as are the beautiful pools and beach access.
However, the value perception is tarnished by high food and drink prices and additional fees. Guests experience a mix of excellent service, with staff often praised for their friendliness, alongside some reports of service inconsistencies and cleanliness issues.

Detailed Reviews
We don't usually stay at "resorts"... but we got such a good deal we couldn’t pass it up. The resort was beautiful.. clean and well maintained in every aspect. Our ocean-front room had a huge balcony (great for coffee and star gazing) which we used extensively when not at the pool... the unobstructed views and sunsets were spectacular. We enjoyed the fresh sea air while whale watching as well as marlin/stingrays jumping, pelicans, frigates, osprey etc.
Our room was fully equipped with all the dishes/utensils/appliances you would ever need…including DRINKABLE tap water! We used the well-equipped gym daily. There were daily activities if you choose to participate. If you need supplies or snacks there is a small cantina on-site or walk up the road (about 10 min) to the OXXO.
I would have to give 5 stars for the INCREDIBLE service. Staff were friendly and attentive; and even remembered our names. Everyone greeted us with smiles. We had a very minor issue with our bathroom sink…and it was fixed almost immediately. I wish that I could have eaten at the restaurant more often, but the prices were just more than I was willing to pay…so we purchased groceries and prepared our own meals. (I find it difficult to pay more than a Mexican daily minimum wage for a bowl of soup).
I hope staff are paid a “living wage” because they work so hard and truly deserve it. Overall, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay.

This July We stayed at the Sirena Del Mar. This was our second trip to Cabo at this Welk resort. We were impressed with how the resort handled and honored rules to protect their guests from Covid-19. All employees wore masks, and I could see their staff regularly washing down surfaces. Edgar greeted us and kindly took our luggage to our beautiful room. We loved our accommodations. The room was immaculate and we loved the high quality furniture and the nice decor. We especially want to thank Hector and Alejandro for accommodating all our requests. We loved our ocean view, washer dryer and full kitchen. They also made our 21st Anniversary extra special by decorating our room and giving us a complimentary gourmet chocolate moose cake! We also enjoyed painting our own ceramic souvenirs with Pancho. The whole staff was warm and made our time at the Welk Resorts Sirena Del Mar a trip to remember!

We had a nice time in this spot for our honeymoon. The infinity pools were so beautiful, you have a great view of the arch from there, as well as our Oceanside room. Service was wonderful and staff people were friendly- especially Jonás! He made the trip special for us and always greeted us by name. I also saw him playing songs for a few kids to dance to and dancing along with them- he went the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome!
The food suits American travelers well who are looking for something familiar. Not the most authentic, we had one meal here and decided to head into town for the others.
We had two massages, they were so good. The deep one made our faces swell and noses run, haha, but I guess that means our lymph nodes were draining or something. The medium pressure massages were much more relaxing.
Our room was cleaned once during the week that we were here. Would have loved to have our room cleaned more than that, and the last two nights we spent here, we woke up itchy and bitten. Don’t know if a mosquito was in the room for the night or if something was crawling in the bed- might have been avoided had the room been cleaned more frequently. (We didn’t request it, just expected it. I’m sure we could have requested it be cleaned.)
They add a $20 and $7 per day charge on the final bill that we didn’t know about, not a big deal but they do sneak in quite a few little extra expenses.
Overall, really good trip, excellent service! Very memorable and relaxing.

Our room was very comfortable and all equipment worked. In the room, there is a full sized fridge, dishwasher, large Mr. Coffee maker, large microwave, plush towels, comfortable bed, paper towels, no dishwasher or laundry soap, large towels, and adequate dishes and silver ware.
We were not aware that Welk charges a $20 per day resort fee and a $7 service fee on top of the daily room fee at the welk reservation site.

We had a great stay at the resort and would definitely come again. We intend to next year. We stayed the third week in February. The weather was perfect. It gave us lots of opportunities to use the facilities such as the pool, hot tub, and outdoor recreation like ping pong. They even had some ceramic painting opportunities, though we did not partake in that. The cool thing about this location is that it's set back quite a ways from the main road, so no traffic noise. It's also situated by the beach, about a 300 foot walk from the resort down a set a spiral staircase. Also, across from the main road is a hiking trail that you can go all the way up to the top and overlook the valley and the sea. We had a suite with all your kitchen needs; you just need to stock up from the grocery store pretty close by. Groceries in Cabo were expensive, relatively speaking. The resort is a minute drive from Jazz on the Rocks, which is a pretty nice restaurant and jazz bar overlooking the sea. There's also a restaurant on resort, and I would skip that unless you're eating outside.
When we arrived, there were many nice little touches in the room including towels in the shape of swans and petals, real flower petals, strewn everywhere. The decor is not really my taste, and for a seaside place like this, I feel like they could lighten up the colors. That aside, the room was perfect, most importantly the view. If you splurge with anytime on your trip, get the ocean view. The sound and the sights are amazing. The view overlooks the giant boulders rocks and crashing ocean waves. We sat out on our deck for hours on end just whale watching (constantly active) and taking in the scenery, including an early morning sunrise.
What I really want to accentuate is the service. From beginning to end, the staff was so kind. When we arrived and had an issue with the room reservation, completely my fault, they took care of us. The bellhop told us to go to Hector, and he definitely took care of us! Hector has been with the resort for many years, and so he knows how to make guests feel welcomed and valued.
This was my first time in Cabo, and I had some reservations about going during covid times and Mexico in general. But my reservations have been eliminated, and I would most definitely return again, especially to this resort Serena Del Mar. I know it sounds like I'm pouring it on thick, and I'm generally pretty critical, but this was a great stay.

I just got back from a trip to Cabo and stayed at this beautiful resort. I've stayed at several different places in Cabo and chose Welk this time as I am familiar with their Escondido location and have always loved the customer service that I've had with them. Everything was top notch starting with the warm welcome when you check in; the manager Alejandro was up front with the concierge when we arrived and made us feel like family. The restaurant had amazing food (and margaritas) and the SPECTACULAR infinity pool over looking the ocean was one of the best I've seen. They also had several fun activities to partake in and we chose to do the snorkeling. Our guide was so much fun and took us out to 2 different areas where there was good visibility and swarms of bright tropical fish.
We opted for one of the suites and it was perfect. The room was outfitted with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, the most comfortable bed and a huge Jacuzzi tub. We had a balcony with a hammock to relax in with the best view in Cabo.
I will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone- it's also very family friendly.

We stayed at the Welks Resort and used our time share since we own with Welks. It was an overall nice, clean and elegant resort. We stayed at the penthouse suite and were a little disappointed that we didn’t get an ocean view, but overall it was great. Great location, downtown Cabo is only 15 mins away and local Walmart is 10 mins away. They don’t do house keeping so you have to make sure to keep it clean throughout the week. The staff was great! We really want to give a huge shoutout to our Concierge Kris, he was the man! He gave us recommendations of where to go eat and park, he also helped us schedule 2 activities which we loved. Thanks Kris and thank you Welks for having us.

My wife and I had a great stay at this Welks Resort during the first week of February 2021. Special recognition goes out to the front desk manager Abraham for his warm hospitality and outstanding customer service during our stay. If you are looking for a property where you have your space and it is not overcrowded during the pandemic, this is it!! They have a good restaurant on their grounds and I loved the pool table. The beach that is connected to the property is a walk that takes a small amount of effort to get to. During our time on this beach, we only shared it with a handful of people.
The rooms are very modern and have up to date appliances which is great. An Uber ride to downtown costs between $5- $6 USD each way which is not bad. Great location and fine accommodations. Keep up the great work Front Desk Manager Abraham. This guy loves his job and his staff and guest highly respect his passion and enthusiasm.

I want to start with the best part- the view! I wanted to find a place with a great ocean view, great amenities, food and service. Well the view (ocean view) was awesome. The people/staff were also nice. The issues I have are more customer service/business oriented. 1) you have to pay for EVERYTHING- from coffee, to bottled water, on top of a $30/day resort fee; seems like double dipping. Other resorts I’ve been to offers complimentary coffee and water. I will say the GM was accommodating, and listened to my concerns. 2) only one restaurant, and not a lot of options if you don’t eat beef or pork. 3) room cleaning- once, unless you guessed it, you pay for it. 4) not a lot of reading material. Games needed updating.
I had not been here before, and have no regrets, but don’t think I’ll be back. Too many additional costs, with no real amenities.
Again, great ocean views, but definitely not an inclusive resort.

This is a quaint resort with amazing amenities and a million dollar view! Our room was spacious and beautiful with a lovely view. There are 2 infinity pool with absolute killer views of El Archo and the ocean. The beach is beautiful…private and secluded. They have a good restaurant on property, but we usually went out for dinner. The rooms are all equipped with a fully stocked kitchen and washer and dryer, and Costco and Fresco is a 7 minute Uber ride away. We loved sitting on our balcony and eating breakfast. They have a great gym that we used every day.
We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Strongly recommend take a local uber.. to be picked up from the resort.. i say less than 10 min. Not walkable. you can do bus too but better off with Uber point to point.
Yes, you can swim and snorkel at the private beach. I do it every day. Hyatt will provide beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler if you want to bring drinks/food. There is a spiral cement stairway to get from the resort to the beach. I’m 75 and don’t have an issue with it.
