It was our first time going to Cabo and I wanted to get it right because we often don’t return to the same destination twice. I spent a lot of time reading reviews, weighing out different locations and amenities. I am so glad we picked this property and very glad we got the AI package. If you are considering staying at this property here’s the review you need to read. (Voice texted please excuse mistakes.) I booked the basic room, I think it was called a nautical junior suite. The price online for the next room upgrade seemed to be a lot more and it was just the two of us who don’t spend a lot of time in the room. However at check in I asked about our room location and level. The room we were scheduled for would have been on the second floor facing the pool. I asked about a room on a higher floor and was offered an upgrade for a small additional daily rate to room 619 which I now believe is one of the best rooms in the hotel. It faces the marina on maybe the highest floor below the top level suite and has a nice kitchen with a window, shower with a window, and wraparound balcony. The view of the pool and marina was spectacular, the room was spotless, nicely decorated, and the robes and slippers were much appreciated. The lighting at night around the pool against the marina and lighted buildings around the mountains were like something out of a magazine. Everything was well-maintained from the elevator to the lounge chairs. With the all inclusive package there was one restaurant open by the pool during the day and four restaurants now open at the marina level that are part of this hotel but also open to the public. Hands-down the best restaurant was the Italian place. I cannot believe I am saying that because when you go to Cabo you don’t expect to be eating at a place that advertises pizza and pasta. But we must have eaten there at least three times and kept going back because the food was so amazing. From the stuffed raviolis to the salads and appetizers even the wine was great. The other restaurants are good and only the Mexican restaurant is open for breakfast, but the Mexican breakfasts were out of this world delicious too. The coconut shrimp at Jack’s steakhouse we’re also a favorite. One special thing about the all-inclusive package is that you also can enjoy the food at their sister property and take the shuttle for free back-and-forth. The sister property has a restaurant popular for dinner with amazing views from a short trip out of town but we didn’t want to spend an evening there so we went for breakfast instead. It was essentially the same restaurant as dinner even though there may be a sign for each place on the same building. I highly recommend breakfast at least once at that sister property. On the day we had breakfast there we transitioned into a pool day there as well with lunch by the pool. Over the course of our one-week stay we visited the sister property twice for the calm peaceful relaxing luxury that it offers in comparison to the active busy environment at the marina. We loved both properties equally for what they provided and felt we had the unique experience of living the best of both worlds. When I think about our week in Cabo trying to come up with the best of the trip to share, the answer above all is the quality of service we received at both resorts. Practically white glove. It’s not that we didn’t have a lot of other amazing experiences though. We took a private snorkeling trip on a boat with a fabulous dive master from Israel. We drove dune buggies across miles of remote backroads with a medical doctor who just happened to own a mango farm and gave us bags of fresh mangoes to take back with us to the hotel. We had a wonderful evening with a food guide who took us to some of the best restaurants and street vendors to sample local food. And we did smaller things like exploring the real town, shopping, massage, a glass bottom boat to see the arch. But every morning and every evening as we spent time at the resorts, every staff member was friendly and ready to make us happy with a drink or a pool towel and remembering our names making sure we were having a nice time. The service was consistently outstanding and my favorite thing about the trip. So it’s hard to write such grand things without anything in comparison on the less ideal side let’s say. So here are a few things that we could’ve done without but I also know that it takes both sides to compare. We didn’t love the music that was being played in the restaurants and by the pool. I suppose Americans our age like listening to a mix of classic rock and 80s but I would have rather listened to something more cultural or relaxing - or fun like the music they played at Breathless on the beach. And speaking of music I like a few songs by a mariachi band but every night with them coming around at every meal multiple times started to become tiring. Everything people say about the marina vendors soliciting everything from fishing tours to rosary beads constantly and repeatedly from morning until night is true. I don’t know how many times I said Gracias no Gracias but halfway through the trip we tried to figure out new ways to say no thank you in Spanish. I understand the culture and financial situation everyone is in so we did what we could to appreciate the experience, and yes we got our rosary beads and many T-shirts and hats and jewelry, the mall was even fun to shop, but we just weren’t interested in fishing no matter how many times we were asked and no I did not want any party favors or to meet someone’s sister (or brother? they would say.) LOL Cabo was as close to paradise as any place I’ve ever been but it is the people, and the beautiful language, and their high quality food, and top notch amenities, and overwhelming hospitality that made it so special. They took very good care of us, and here I thought I’d be apologizing for Trump and the wall. Turns out according to the locals we spoke with, they don’t care about the wall - it’s not on their property, right? Just fly over it and come back soon! :)

Hotel's Favorite
Very friendly staffs, clean and safe. Nice pool. Hotel’s restaurant by the pool has amazing food selections. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and great location to watch the marina. Very close to indoor mall to cool off after a good walk. Absolutely my favorite.

So happy we chose to stay at the Marina Fiesta! (We usually stay elsewhere in Cabo but that hotel hasn't reopened yet during the COVID pandemic.) Have no fear of germs here! Every time you enter the hotel, we walked thru a carwash-like sanitizing mist chamber! All staff wear masks all the time. Housekeeping is extremely thorough. At the pool, towels are individually wrapped in plastic, pool handles wiped down throughout the day, chairs sanitized, etc. Obvious social distancing as the hotel could only maintain 30% capacity (that may be another contributing factor why were enjoyed our stay so much). Amazing view of hills and marina. Location great - on marina, obviously, and short walks to beach (went to Office every day for b-fast), and downtown. Poolside waiters fantastic, especially Diego. Concierge Gaby had excellent recommendations and booked a great sunset cruise at discount price. FYI upon check-in some guy whom i originally thought was the concierge tried to send us on a free fajita-themed sunset sail if we attended a time share sales pitch meeting. No thx.

We stayed at the marina fiesta for 5 nights with our boys 15 and 17. They had their own room and we did the all inclusive package. It was wonderful. This was my 3rd time to stay here. Food is great, service is exceptional and they had lots of covid restrictions in place. They wiped down and sanitized everything non stop. The resort had a disinfecting tunnel to walk through when entering the property. Beautiful resort, beautiful people! We plan on returning in October. If you are thinking of visiting Cabo, go! You will love your stay at the marina fiesta Cabo!!

This resort claims to offer an $100 resort credit, specifically towards services like spa treatments. I got a spa treatment and they wouldn’t redeem my credit when I paid at check out. They didn’t have any valid reason for not accepting it. On top of that the front desk manager tried to keep arguing with me even when I just gave up because the conversation was going nowhere. NEVER AGAIN!
