Travelers' Choice
Nestled along a protected cove, the most desirable beach in Los Cabos has long been known for its tranquil, swimmable waters and pristine coral reefs, where a short venture out to sea unveils a hidden underwater world of tropical fish and sea turtles. Chileno Bay was created with a distinct vision to bring a contemporary take on the classic Baja escape with an airy, open aesthetic that blurs the line between indoor and outdoor with private terraces in each guest room.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Chileno Bay Resort. The staff were absolutely amazing, and level of service was exceptionally high. Milene our concierge was simply amazing always there to assist, and went above and beyond on multiple occasions. Another special shout out as well to Miguel and Alejandra for our personalized experiences during the week.

The reviews accurately reflect this beautiful hotel- the service was impeccable everywhere - shoutout to Jorge , Eduardo and Brandon at breakfast, jose at yaya, fernanado, Pedro and Daniel at the pool and also Daniel at the beach. There are more people but I did not get their names at the pool and spa, everyone was welcoming and wonderful. We had so much fun and the food was very very good. I’ve stayed at montage and Esperanza etc and the best breakfast I’ve had so far is here. The beach has a ton of fish and great snorkeling and warm beautiful water. Yaya was also great food- the first we were blown away by the roast beef sandwich - our only disappointment was that we ordered the sandwich again another day because we loved it so much but it did not taste as good or have as much beef and the bread was more stale and we were a little sad about that and didn’t really eat it probably because we had high expectations. such great service everywhere else - they had birthday balloons and a treat and guac in the room with beers to greet us and everyone was so accommodating and kind. Ruben was a great concierge. Comal’s food was also very good too for dinner. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back!

Chileno is a special place and we always love our stays there. The entire staff is incredible and the new restaurant Yaya's is incredible. If you want to go somewhere and not have to think about anything and appreciate friendly staff willing to go the extra mile, Chileno is the place for you. Cannot wait to return again.

A beautiful resort with spacious rooms, and an outdoor shower in each room (you could hear the birds singing from your shower) that made waking up extra special. It is so clean and the staff is so friendly. TNT (taco restaurant at the resort) is a must! Those tacos are unbelievable. The concierge is excellent as well. They helped me plan my whole itinerary (transport included) and booked all the restaurants for me. It really felt like a vacation because of them.

TL;DR Pros: Beautiful property, large rooms, lots of amenities and activities, great food. Cons: Ocean view rooms are a waste of $, Private beach isn't even usable, service is lacking. The property itself is beautiful and pretty large. Service on arrival is excellent from the front desk to the porters to the concierge. Paco our personal concierge was exceptional and prepared a nice personalized greeting for my birthday. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the ocean view room . Our room was really a view of the construction site nextdoor so that was a bummer. It was a very unsightly as our room faced more towards the adjacent construction site and crowded public beach. There was constant construction noise and constant foot traffic. Pretty much the opposite of what I hoped for in a scenic relaxing stay. The hotel is design poorly and rooms face out away from the center of the property. We could have stayed in the city if we wanted to stare at heavy machinery and throngs of people walking by. There should be some warning on the website about the construction and noise levels for some of the ocean view rooms so guest aren't caught off guard like we were. We ended up requesting a room change and were placed in a garden view room, which ended up being a much better spot but also a little awkward since there was no separation between us and our neighbors who were staring at us through the sliding doors in their plunge pool. This property is just not laid out well. Also the hotel also did not compensate us for taking a lower room class. So we ended paying for a more expensive room than what we actually stayed in. Overall this was a big negative from day 1 of our trip. Fortunately inside the rooms are beautiful and spacious. The outdoor showers and soaking tubs are very nice. Rooms have a nicely stocked mini bar, coffee, tea, and nice walk in closets. These are some of the best room interirors I've seen at any property. The resort has a fleet of golf carts for moving guest around the property and a fleet of suburbans for local transportation which is great, you never have to call ahead for a taxi/car. The Well spa is excellent. The staff and therapists are all incredible. The spa facilities are very nice as well. The pools are very nice. Pool service was mostly very good. The first day at the pool we were largely ignored but the service was better after our first day thankfully. The private beach is laughable. It is a small, rocky patch of sand with a pair of lowly chairs setup and the surf is quite rough. If you want to actually enjoy the sand and calm water you need to go next door to the public beach. The hotel should just advertise that instead of trying to pass theirs off any sort of decent enjoyable beach because it is not. The fitness center is very nice but not large enough to accommodate a resort of this size. The gym is packed in the mornings and you'll have to wait for cardio equipment since they only have a few treadmills. The fitness center is stocked with plenty of towels and water. The equipment is nice and modern including a pair of pelotons and plenty of free weights, which was nice. At Comal the food was very good overall for dinner and breakfast. Service was better for dinner, although we only had dinner there once. Breakfast service was inconsistent. One day in particular service was horrible. We were practically ignored by our waiter, didn't receive bread or anything. He never came back to check on us after we got our food either and we had to ask someone else for the check. Also, it was odd that for the first 3 times we ate at Comal for breakfast we were charged a la carte and the 4th time we ate there on a Monday they just charged us for "Comal Breakfast" at a much higher flat rate. No explanation from the waiter. Also the servers never told us the pastry bar was complimentary. Again, service at Comal needs a lot of work. Service and the food was much better at Yaya. The staff there was incredible, the manager in particular, and we enjoyed dinner at Yaya more than Comal at half the price. I unfortunately got sick while at the resort with a 24 hr stomach bug. Not able to pinpoint exactly what it was that made me sick but I suspect it was pre-cut fruit that had been left out. The concierge were nice enough to offer to send a doctor if I needed one which I declined so they sent electrolytes instead, which was very nice. I tried ordering plain white rice and couldn't eat it because it was full of butter. I called room service and asked for just plain steamed white rice and got another batch of buttered rice so I didn't end up eating anything at all the entire night so that was a bummer and another of the service hiccups I experienced. Finally, the checkout experience was mixed. Bellman was ready to pick us up 10 minutes before our departure time and bring us to the lobby, which was perfect. I did visit the front desk to clarify a charge on the bill and the agent mentioned she would adjust the bill and send me a new one. She never did either, which I do not appreciate and was yet again another example of lacking service at this property. Overall this is a very nice property but I don't think it's worth the cost. The service was very inconsistent, sometimes the staff were excellent, personable, and considerate and other times they forgetful, inattentive, and failed to follow through. Views from the rooms stink but it's not a huge deal since you don't spend too much time in room anyway but at these price points I expect better. I wouldn't return to this property due to the inconsistencies and ultimately we came away very disappointed with Auberge. It was our first stay at an Auberge property and it was very underwhelming. There are so many great hotels in Cabo and many alternatives that will be a better value with better service than Chileno Bay.

The most welcoming staff, the most lovely location, the best food. Overall a peak vacation experience. Be sure to request a room away from the construction, as there is major construction going on around the resort area, which is loud and dirty and constant (6 days/week from dawn til 8pm).

This resort is beautiful! We enjoyed our stay very much, even though there was rain due to a Tropical Storm. Highly recommend a massage with Gabby at The Well. Loved Comal and Yaya for dinner. Rodolfo at Yaya is the best server, and his recommendations were delicious! We do wish there were more options for breakfast at the resort, but loved our stay and hope to be back.
