Great scenery all around this place and the owners worked very hard to accommodate us last minute. We arrived late, so no one greeted us, but they did send an email explaining where everything was. Met a few nice people whom were staying at the same time. Price was a bit high, but I was last minute on the Canadian Thanksgiving Long Weekend, so it was a bit expected

This property is extortionately priced. We arrived at what appeared to be a house learning that it was converted to a communal lodging. No one was there to welcome us. No instructions regarding our room nor other features. Guests already there milled about in the common kitchen unable to help us locate the owner. The owner with whom we had contacted for a place to stay never appeared. Instead they sent someone who told us our room was not even at this location instead having us follow them back up the highway to another house that had been converted to a lodging. The place was not clean. The hot tub was cold. There were no amenities that the stiff $160 a night could be valued. We requested a room with two beds but we're given a room with one bed. No cot was available so one of us slept on the floor. The offer of complimentary freshly baked cinnamon buns and coffee was utterly disappointing. We had to call to see when the host would be arriving and when they did there was no fresh coffee and the cinnamon buns were hard, several days old, lacked even a resemblance of a cinnamon bun. The internet was a joke without any bandwidth to support even opening a browser and it dropped every few minutes. This is not a place to stay at that price point. If it were $60 a night you might consider it acceptable.

Where to begin? We had reservations at the Pleasant Bay location but were apparently changed to a house in Cheticamp about 40 miles away without telling us Both places were dumps. Would have changed if we could but a holiday weekend prevented it. Could not recommend this firm or these places. Very sloppy and nasty places.

When we checked in we were asked if we wanted some cinnamon buns and bananas that looked like they were about two days old already sitting on a plate. There was a dead fly on one of the pillows right after she had cleaned! And two of the rooms were creepy with a door leading outside out of the washroom in one??? Needless to say yuck! If you like musty you will love the basement.

Gulf Breeze was just an average B&B. We were looking for a place at the last minute to stay on the Cabot Trail and this was the only place close to Ingonish Beach that had any rooms. Nice hot tub and good breakfast. The room could use some improvements. It a pinch, it was okay. Next time I'll book a hotel earlier.
