This motel provides a decent place to stay along the Cabot trail. It is not fancy or extraordinary in any way but considering the options are limited in Pleasant Bay it's good enough for a night. The room was a decent size and was clean, although there was a bit of an odd smell. The furnishings are very outdated and... More

The rooms that we stayed in were newly renovated. The room and the washroom were clean and tidy. The TV was small but still usable. There were some small details that could be fixed. But overall this is a nice place with awesome views. Very close to the ocean, nice little harbour to walk around, great location.

My parents and I ate here one evening because we were very happy to see that they had several vegetarian dishes. We enjoyed our pasta, salad, and quesadillas. There wasn't too much interaction with the staff and us though we were the only ones there, but I don't see this as a negative. I think they just let us enjoy... More

We stopped here while doing the Cabot trail and we were happy to take a break halfway through. The Cabot trail is beautiful but a little nerve-racking, so this motel was a little haven: it is out-dated and it could use some new furniture and sheets; however, it was clean, it was quiet and there was a beautiful view of... We booked this motel after a misunderstanding with another property. We ended up at the initial property after booking this motel. The rooms here are good and very clean and we would have been happy to stay if our initial booking didn't come good. The staff here were wonderful in allowing us to cancel our booking after arrival. We had... More

Don't let first appearances put you off. Yes, the buildings are pink, and yes, it looks a little tired, but the MidTrail is actually a pretty nice place. I'd recommend the oceanview rooms - I think they were about $20 more, but well worth it. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The TV worked, mattress is showing its... More

The view definitely makes up for the motel. The bed wasn't very comfy, the carpet was dirty, and the tv is an old tube tv. For the hotel being $100.00, I wouldn't say it's worth that at all. The view definitely makes up for it as we got the ocean view for 84.99 plus tax. The ocean view is nice... More

We spent 1 night in Pleasant Bay. The motel was quiet and clean. We did not pay extra for a water view, and would not if we stayed again. Our trip was in September which was the end of the season for this area. Having never been in the area before, we had no idea what to expect. I think... More

This has been my 5th stay at the Mid-trail each time for 2 nights of accommodation. This year I visited the Cabot Trail in August and October of this year with my partner who lives in Cape Breton. We both love the simplicity, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Rooms with ocean view each have a small balcony facing the... More

The view was good, and the location was fine just past the coastal drive from Cheticamp but for $100 it was not a great place. The room was spartan and old, and the beds uncomfortable. Almost no amenities. I will say the restaurant in the motel looked decent, and was $10 less per plate than in Chiticamp iteself $21.99 for... More
