This hotel is older and very basic, but the service and views are to die for. We were only going to stay 2 nights and decided to stay a 3rd. Love the beach!!! San Carlos is very small (still) so everything you need is close by. Rooms and grounds were very clean and neat. We both like that there are...

Upon arrival was greeted by a nice women behind the counter she. After asking the rates she offered me a deal. It was a Monday off season. We fell in love with the place we were planing on checking in, and out the next day, but stayed the whole 4 nights. The food was splendid in the restaurant, beautiful view...

I disagree with previous reviews. The hotel is a perfect getaway from television and internet. The basic rooms are perfect. Food is wonderful and service is excellent. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to getaway from the normal and just relax on the beach

Sad history with present 'manager' . Empty Basic rooms, old beds and non existing service. Old, cold tile floors, no televisions, or Wifi except in bar. Iffy food. There are so many better choices in town.

It is now the Hotel Playa San Carlos. They renamed it Hotel Playa because it's on THE PLAYA, and a South facing playa at that! (Sun ALL day!). The hotel is eclectic for sure, but now repainted, clean but no TV. If you don't want to swim in the ocean, there's a small pool. The restaurant is excellent with one...

We'd been going to SC for years in our motor home but decided to drive down and stay in a hotel for a week. We had enjoyed going to what was then The Hotel Fiesta and is now Hotel Playa San CArlos. It had been the subject of much legal trouble involving a family who have a less than honorable...

Basic and outdates installations, but very close to the entrance/exit from San Carlos, this Hotel has the basic needs for your stay: clean rooms/beds, pool, restaurant, with good rates for the budget. A plus is to be able to buy groceries, food, drinks, etc., to your room without having to pay more. And as a bonus, an Extra store is...

I must agree with the recent reviewers that though its location is good, as of April 2014 this place was a dump. We also noticed that there didn't appear to be any cars parked in the guest parking area. But we had paid in advance and we arrived rather late in the day so we really were motivated to stay...

We stopped in to see what the rooms looked like and to get a price. The first thing that I noticed is that the office smelled like cat piss. But from the beach this place looks nice, but up close, it is slowly falling apart. There is a sign in the office thats says, "no tv's or phones in the...

We try to give honest reports and really want to see businesses succeed but we just can't do it with this one. We stayed 2 nights and the main reason is, we are traveling with a little dog and they are the only ones I could find online that accepted dogs. I will look harder next time. Here is the...
