This is a belated review but thought it would be helpful. We spent a past Christmas at the Hacienda taking the entire place to ourselves and three other families that joined us – sixteen in total from pre-teens to teens and adults. It was magnificent! Bedrooms – They are all huge suites and tastefully done. Most of them have great views and they all open up into a beautiful garden courtyard. Bathrooms are up-to-date and very nice and large. Food – I have spent much of my life going to Mexico and can attest that the food coming out of their kitchen is first class authentic Mexican food. The owners also have a great cache of wine to choose form at very reasonable prices. Three meals a day plus homemade guacamole and margaritas in the afternoon will ensure you gain weight but it is worth it. Grounds – a beautiful garden inside the walls as well as stables with horses, small grove of citrus and grapes, a great pickleball court area along with hot tub and small pool that the kids enjoyed at night. Staff – This is where they really excel. We had 16 of us and every day we took a trip to a city or site – San Miguel, Guanajato, hot springs, etc. and sometimes split into two groups. They coordinated everything with vans and drivers and the prices were good. They also helped with the shipping of boxes back to our home as well as airport transfer from Leon, they also made sure any food allergies were dealt with in the kitchen and many more items. Basically, they were always around to help and answer questions and felt like family by the end of the 10-day visit. We had mariachis one evening, as well as traditional dancers, fireworks and the tequila donkey – which is a must! We used the spa almost every day for wonderful massages, etc. Outside the hacienda is a typical small Mexican courtyard with a church on one side and a “quick-mart” style store next to it. This is a small village so realize that the main thing to do outside the wall is to hike, horseback ride, mountain bike and play on the soccer field next door. We have taken many trips as a family or with a group of families and this ranked in the top spot…so much to do and such a great compound to have as a headquarters for activities. Excellent overall!…

We recently rented the entire hacienda for my daughters´first communion mass and party. Everything was perfect. Our guests were amazed at how beautiful the rooms are. The food was delicious. Many thanks to the manager of the hacienda. She organised everything for me and was accomodating and professional- flowers, churro cart, a guitar duo , mariacahis,pinata, cake, dance instructors. All of the services were top class. All of us had a wonderful time! The kids had a fabulous time using the bicycles, horse riding and pool.

Nine years ago my wife and I were married at Hacienda Las Trancas. This year we decided to come back for our third child's Christening. We rented the Hacienda for a full week and brought down our families to enjoy the time. We had a concern trying to remember the Hacienda from nine years ago and if it was still as good as it seemed in our minds. Well, we are happy to report it was far better this time around. The new patio and fire pit were amazing additions and an official spa room was great. For $20 plus tip its a massage that can't be missed! The staff was great and it was nice to see some familiar faces from our trip nine years ago! The food was as excellent as we remembered. In reading some other reviews, remember its Mexico and try the food being offered! The rooms just don't compare in terms of size. They aren't even rooms but huge suites! They are perfect retreats and so very comfortable. There are so many great spots to hang out as well. Either in the hammocks, out by pool, in the garden or out by the patio. Any of those locations will help you enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time. We are so glad we came back to Hacienda Las Trancas again. Our kids made wonderful memories at the hacienda and my daughter found a new best friend in Teresa! Until the next time we come down we will have the great thoughts of Las Trancas.…

We stayed here with 14 other people. We had the whole place to ourselves! Each room is beautiful and large. Equipped with a gas fireplace, sitting area, bedroom and balcony. This Hacienda is over 400 years old. They have horseback riding, tennis, some other table sports, hot tub and swimming pool. The pool wasn't great. It was very cold and the least attractive setting at the Hacienda. Service and food was outstanding! We were greeted and taken care of by the Manager (Teresa) who was extremely attentive. Our favourite was Yolanda - The Chef. Yolanda and the kitchen staff made everything from scratch. We all agreed that the food was delicious! The only real downside is that it is a far drive from San Miguel or Guanajuato. If the distance isn't an issue then stay here!!

No pictures can captivate how beautiful Hacienda las Trancas is. Even in person, one feels like if it's a dream. The Hacienda and its staff are amazing!! We had a small wedding in May 2016, and all of our guests were astound of the Haciendas beauty and services. The Hacienda is located near Dolores Hidalgo & San Miguel de Allende. So, it's out of the way of all the tourists. But no need to worry of what to do, they have spa services in the hacienda, and other activities like horseback riding, biking, a huge selection of movies, pools, plus all meals are included!! If you are looking for a place for a wedding, look no further! If you are looking for a place to completely relax, disconnect from the all the noise and chaos, look no further! If you are looking for a place for a special family gathering, Hacienda Las Trancas is the place to book! I have to say THANK YOU to all the staff, Teresa, you were beyond wonderful coordinating our wedding, muchísimas gracias!! I cannot wait to return!!…

My friend and I led a group for @10 days at Hacienda Las Trances. A few of us had been there before. I had not and the actual experience exceeded my expectations. It is just beautiful. The staff is more than excellent, always ready to accommodate. The cooks create delicious, healthy and comforting meals. You will not be disappointed!
