We went with the family after some years of knowing this hotel, very disappointing. The road to the town without any signs, thanks to google maps and wase we were able to reach, dusty and neglected, the lamps in the room with or without burned out bulbs. The bed is clean and we carry nanoparticulate disinfectant. Poor quality food, scarce in options and quality and quantity. Very unfortunate our stay, not recommended because it is expensive and bad.

Place is nice, but very far from the city center or even a convenience store. The hours of the restaurant are very limited. But the most important reason of this review, is that we were staying on a Villa, and one night at 5AM someone came to our private terrace and started throwing the flashlight through the windows inside our bedroom. And the most disappointment for us, was the attitude of the property owner, which was very rough, rude and helpless, she totally lacks the way of treating the guests. And by the way another guests experienced the same event one night later. That is why I strongly don’t recommend staying at this property. Sincerely Dionisiofdz@hotmail.com

I had my wedding there so we had the entire hotel; rooms were dirty, most of them had leaks, they were bugs in every room, in mine I found a scorpion and the service was terrible. The wedding was great, but NOT thanks to them, everything I had to coordinate or organized with them was just painful, I had to hire a wedding planner to make sure everything was going to be OK because I knew that if I leave it to them they would just ruined everything, the have zero organization and they lied about a lot of things (like about chef, catering, costs, etc). The surroundings are very pretty and maybe that is why people still go there, that was why we decided to have our wedding there, but if I did everything again, I wouldn't do it there... Not even for free

I went due to a wedding invitation which happened at the events place located on the facilities of the hotel. The place (if I recall correctly used to be a ranch a few years ago) has a great view, is a little bit difficult to reach, personnel is really friendly, lots of space, comfy rooms, spa, the restaurant is delicious, but if you are planning to have a great time with friends... Don't hesitate to make your stay happens at "the nest" (el nido). This place seems to be like a bunker, but it's really well distributed, rooms are big enough, the common areas are great!, wi-fi, cable tv, kitchen, hot water? Etc etc You will not regret this place!

Aside from offering excellent value for the cost of a stay, the views are incredible and the people are delightful. Room was not luxurious but clean and comfortable, and for my money, the lights of the city at night and sun rising over the hills in the morning beat a 5-star hotel any day. It's a taxi ride from the central city which I liked -- quiet and a nice departure from the crowds and chaos. Love this place and recommend it to all my friends traveling to Guanajuato.

AS part of the wedding invite we attended in San Miguel we had one day of Quad biking and then picnic in this place. We were the only people, group of 20 people and they had set up a lovely table on the grass where we had lunch. There was a bar with alcohlolic beverages and nibbles. Nice place to visit for an occasion.

If you're looking for a relaxing retreat or a venur for a large event, I can't say enough good things about Casa de Aves! Each of the regular "suites" are basically like a small comfortable house with much more than basic amenities, including jacuzzies. The staff is so friendly and acomodating that you feel like you're home!

I believe the main idea behind this property is to really cut communication with the outside world and just enjoy nature. My family and I stayed in the hostel section and had a great time! Each room comes with four beds (two sets of bunkbeds). One bed is a queen or full while the others were typical twin size. The only complaint with the hostel was you could hear everything, but besides that it is a GREAT place for kids. There are ducks, birds, a zipline, swing, and a little lake to row your kayak. There is no cellphone signal and you can only get internet the closer you are to the main house. If you come to this property though you are coming only to this property. There is nothing near by and if you plan to go to San Miguel I am sure there are ways, but would be very difficult without a car considering you are in the middle of nowhere.

We spent our new year's eve here and New Year! Our experience was very good and we decided to come back to celebrate again for 2014! See you there! This rustic style hotel is ideal to flee away from the every day haste. Even the cell phones are off coverage here! On the other hand there are good amenities like a quite cosy reading room furnished with fine books, DVD rentals or even a Sky TV system.

We stayed on there on the recommendation of friends and were absolutely delighted. This hotel consists of several villas in a very peaceful setting yet close enough to the city center. The villas are very spacious with large beds, grand bathrooms and showers, tv, wi-fi, anything you would want is there or the very gracious staff will make it available. Great romantic restaurant overlooking a small lake serves excellent meals to hotel guests and day visitors looking a unique experience.
