Casa Calderoni is located in San Miguel’s historic center and combines the intimacy of an elegant bed and breakfast with the luxuries of a small boutique hotel. We are located just 3 blocks from the town square, and are conveniently located just one half block from the world famous "Mercado de Artesanias", featuring fine Mexican handicrafts from all over Mexico. Come and enjoy what Travel and Leisure Magazine reports "is one of the 2 best values in all of San Miguel" with "a rooftop terrace with unparalleled city views."

Beautiful rooms , patios , excellent attention and delicious morning breakfast. Easy walking to town center. Felt very safe walking at night from plaza to hotel. 24 hour staff available and very secure. We were two couples - one staying in the Frieda room and the other in the Picasso room. We were given a 20 percent discount for booking directly through their website

As our visit to San Miguel de Allende was very short, we wanted to find a quiet place to stay that was within walking distance to the historic city center. Casa Calderoni appeared to tick all the boxes, when I researched hotels. We got into San Miguel de Allende later than we anticipated, having made a tour of Queretaro. While he wasn't there to greet us, Luis, the day manager, left a nice welcome note for us, and the night manager showed us our rooms. My partner and I had the charming Picasso Room on the floor above the entrance. The double windows looked out directly over and down the charming street the B&B was on and we got a view of a soon-to-be-setting sun. The back portion of the room had a small terrace that looked out over the courtyard of the B&B. My sister had the Botero Room in the back of the B&B, which she found comfortable, despite it being an interior room without windows. The bathroom in the Picasso Room was quite spacious, with a wonderful showerhead with great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. We decided to sleep with the windows open, but suffered from some mosquitos. But did eventually close them during the night and turned on the air conditioner which worked perfectly. We had an early start to our day the next day with breakfast plans elsewhere in the city. Despite the day manager not being there that early, the friendly and helpful staff let us keep our luggage in the B&B, until we came back midafternoon to pick up our car to get back to Mexico City. Our only regret is not having spent another night at Casa Calderoni and take advantage of the breakfast and hospitality they offered.

------------------------------------------------ This B&B has a lot of charm, located in a side street of the colonial center, far from the maddening crowds. It is walking distance to all the major tourist attractions. Be sure to check out your rooms. We stayed at the Paul Gauguin, located on the top floor with a private balcony and air conditioning, a welcome treat in San Miguel. It has a lovely view. Warning: this hotel has stairs and no elevator. If you have any physical disability, be sure to ask for a room on the lower floors. The breakfast is very nice and you have a choice of eggs made to order, pancakes, or french toast, in addition to coffee and fruit. Make sure you go to Sabor Natura a few steps away. Great food, excellent prices.

Casa Calderoni was a joy for lodging in San Miguel de Allende. It was conveniently located near Fabrica Aurora, the Market, and the town square. Breakfast was good with plenty to eat. Covid19 testing for clearance to enter the USA was around the corner. Restaurants were numerous within 4-5 blocks. Security was excellent and the manager spoke perfect English and was extremely knowledgeable about the town and tourist activities. Of note, the manager is an excellent musician and performs with his band in a delightful restaurant.

Casa Calderoni is a wonderful B&B on a quiet street a couple of blocks north of the Jardin. I stayed in the Salvador Dali room on the top floor. It was actually a bedroom with a separate living room, very nicely decorated. Not much of a view, but it was just below the roof deck which had a great view and had lots of plants and tables and chairs - a very nice place to read or relax. There's a communal table for breakfast - a nice way to meet some other travelers. The general manager of the hotel, Luis, was so kind and helpful as well. This B&B is a find - I would definitely stay here again.

My husband & I stayed at Casa Calderoni for 4 nights, January 9 - departing on January 13. We stayed in the Frida Kahlo suite, which had ample room, a small balcony, and beautiful artwork. The photos on their website are not enhanced: the property is even more beautiful in person, As others have noted, it's on a quiet street that connects to the streets that take you to the center of SMA. The mercado artesanias (there are 4-5 that connect to each other) is within a half block of Casa. Directly across from Casa Calderoni is a fantastic restaurant, Jaques. Delicious and healthy food. Their hours are 9 - 6PM. We enjoyed the morning breakfast every day at the hotel (B & B). I am an early riser, so I would walk up Calle Hildalgo to the Starbucks on the corner of el centro & get us a couple cups of coffee to go. I enjoyed the walk & then we lazily got ready for the day (breakfast served between 8-8:30). Oh, and it's true about the General Manager Luis: he is marvelous. He facilitated a taxi ride to Guanajuato for a day trip there. $50 round trip. $20 per hour while we were there, We went to the Museu de los Momias (mummies) & the Diego Rivera Museum among other sites. You can craft your own trip. All in all, it was a lovely stay!

Amazing stay! Everything from staff to the view & location, to the yummy breakfast. Luis was such a great help, providing us suggestions for the day in addition to meeting our every request, all with a kind heart and smile. Rest of the staff was just as kind and accommodating. Please don’t hesitate to book here - you won’t regret it!!

I believe the day manager's name is Antonio and he was wonderful. He was eager to help. The breakfast was simple but super. Lovely fresh fruit, fresh juice, good coffee, and eggs as you like them. However, the carpet in our room was in desperate need of a clean and the linens on the bed could be a lot nicer. New pillows would be a help. A lot could be done with fresh paint and a general rethink on the decor. It was a great location however we were left feeling the owner's need to update the hotel. They have many great things going for them with staff and location but new mattresses, and really new carpet or ditching the carpet, and new linens would be a help. I realize it is for sale but those things could only help the sale.

I have stayed at Casa Calderoni several times over the past few years, including February-March of 2020. I was so impressed with their pro-active sanitation and guest care. Long before a single case of COVID-19 was anywhere near San Miguel, Casa Calderoni completely sanitized every surface and room of their beautiful B&B. Even in "normal" times, Casa Calderoni is one of my favorite places to stay. The breakfast is fantastic! The rooms are gorgeous! The staff is professional, friendly, courteous and skilled. The location is perfect, just on the edge of the heart of the city. It is close enough to easily walk to just about everything but distant enough that you can sleep at night without distraction from exterior noise. The next time I am in San Miguel, I will again stay at Casa Calderoni. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else!

My adult son and I just returned from a week spent at Casa Calderoni, and it was a perfect place to stay while in San Miguel. You can't find a better location on a small, lovely street close to the Jardin, Artisan Market, food market, library, Fabrica, etc. We met the owners, Merry and Ben, who were lovely and gladly gave helpful advice when asked. The daily price included breakfast which was very good, our rooms, Frida Khalo and Georgia O'Keefe were both comfortable, well appointed and quiet, and we were most comfortable our entire stay. Special thanks to Luis, the concierge, who made all of our reservations and tour arrangements, and Lupe, a real sweetheart who was there every morning to greet us when we came down for breakfast. BTW, Luis has a band and sings at a nearby restaurant; I believe he's there 2 nights a week, and we highly recommend going one evening. Luis is very modest and won't tell you about his talent, but it's a very pleasant after dinner treat. I hope to return to San Miguel for my third visit ASAP and wouldn't stay anywhere else!!!!
