Casa Calderoni is located in San Miguel’s historic center and combines the intimacy of an elegant bed and breakfast with the luxuries of a small boutique hotel. We are located just 3 blocks from the town square, and are conveniently located just one half block from the world famous "Mercado de Artesanias", featuring fine Mexican handicrafts from all over Mexico. Come and enjoy what Travel and Leisure Magazine reports "is one of the 2 best values in all of San Miguel" with "a rooftop terrace with unparalleled city views."

My adult son and I just returned from a week spent at Casa Calderoni, and it was a perfect place to stay while in San Miguel. You can't find a better location on a small, lovely street close to the Jardin, Artisan Market, food market, library, Fabrica, etc. We met the owners, Merry and Ben, who were lovely and gladly gave helpful advice when asked. The daily price included breakfast which was very good, our rooms, Frida Khalo and Georgia O'Keefe were both comfortable, well appointed and quiet, and we were most comfortable our entire stay. Special thanks to Luis, the concierge, who made all of our reservations and tour arrangements, and Lupe, a real sweetheart who was there every morning to greet us when we came down for breakfast. BTW, Luis has a band and sings at a nearby restaurant; I believe he's there 2 nights a week, and we highly recommend going one evening. Luis is very modest and won't tell you about his talent, but it's a very pleasant after dinner treat. I hope to return to San Miguel for my third visit ASAP and wouldn't stay anywhere else!!!!

I have stayed at Casa Calderoni several times over the past few years, including February-March of 2020. I was so impressed with their pro-active sanitation and guest care. Long before a single case of COVID-19 was anywhere near San Miguel, Casa Calderoni completely sanitized every surface and room of their beautiful B&B.

Even in "normal" times, Casa Calderoni is one of my favorite places to stay. The breakfast is fantastic! The rooms are gorgeous! The staff is professional, friendly, courteous and skilled. The location is perfect, just on the edge of the heart of the city. It is close enough to easily walk to just about everything but distant enough that you can sleep at night without distraction from exterior noise.

The next time I am in San Miguel, I will again stay at Casa Calderoni. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else!

The property is one block from the library (where there are daily lectures, concerts and plays) 3 blocks from the Jardin, city center and ½ mile walk to the art center, Fabrica la Aurora.

The manager is Luis, who is organized, prompt at following up on questions, B&B reservations or requests for guides (only the best), restaurants or other activities. Plus a caring person.

The breakfasts are very good with a few hot entree’s and a gathering place for a community of guests. The Calderoni family own the B&B and join the group sometime during breakfast time to meet guests, offer suggestions and check on the service.

And the price is quite reasonable. Impossible to beat the overall value. Proof: lots of guests are regulars, returning year after year.

As our visit to San Miguel de Allende was very short, we wanted to find a quiet place to stay that was within walking distance to the historic city center. Casa Calderoni appeared to tick all the boxes, when I researched hotels. We got into San Miguel de Allende later than we anticipated, having made a tour of Queretaro. While he wasn't there to greet us, Luis, the day manager, left a nice welcome note for us, and the night manager showed us our rooms. My partner and I had the charming Picasso Room on the floor above the entrance. The double windows looked out directly over and down the charming street the B&B was on and we got a view of a soon-to-be-setting sun. The back portion of the room had a small terrace that looked out over the courtyard of the B&B. My sister had the Botero Room in the back of the B&B, which she found comfortable, despite it being an interior room without windows. The bathroom in the Picasso Room was quite spacious, with a wonderful showerhead with great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. We decided to sleep with the windows open, but suffered from some mosquitos. But did eventually close them during the night and turned on the air conditioner which worked perfectly. We had an early start to our day the next day with breakfast plans elsewhere in the city. Despite the day manager not being there that early, the friendly and helpful staff let us keep our luggage in the B&B, until we came back midafternoon to pick up our car to get back to Mexico City. Our only regret is not having spent another night at Casa Calderoni and take advantage of the breakfast and hospitality they offered.

Great location (near but not too near everything you'll want to do). Wonderful staff (helpful but not overbearing). Super comfortable room (Frida Kahlo, loved sitting on the balcony late in the afternoon, very restful, quiet). The breakfast was okay but frankly, given how many restaurants there are nearby, I only ate it once and went out the other mornings. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. (One suggestion to the owner: more places in room to plug in; only real plug available was in the bathroom because all the others were behind furniture.)

I believe the day manager's name is Antonio and he was wonderful. He was eager to help. The breakfast was simple but super. Lovely fresh fruit, fresh juice, good coffee, and eggs as you like them. However, the carpet in our room was in desperate need of a clean and the linens on the bed could be a lot nicer. New pillows would be a help. A lot could be done with fresh paint and a general rethink on the decor. It was a great location however we were left feeling the owner's need to update the hotel. They have many great things going for them with staff and location but new mattresses, and really new carpet or ditching the carpet, and new linens would be a help. I realize it is for sale but those things could only help the sale.

San Miguel Oasis

We loved our quiet, restful stay at the Casa Calderoni B&B. Conveniently located to all the sites, this central oasis is within walking distance to many local galleries, museums, parks, restaurants, and the Biblioteca Pública (a wonderful find), etc.

Casa Calderoni is also beautifully appointed with traditional and modern artwork, some of which were painted by the former owner Ms. Calderoni herself.

This comfortable oasis has two beautiful lounges, one of which is a reading room stocked with many large art books.

Luis, the General Manager, is a gem! A long-time resident of San Miguel, Luis has worked for the Casa Calderoni B&B for over two decades! Always ready to assist with anything, Luis has his finger on the pulse of the art and music scene and other attractions.

The other staff were also professional, friendly, charming, and attentive. Whenever we needed something, they were right there.

Every morning, we were served a lovely and healthy breakfast of assorted local fruits, granola, yogurt ... and then a choice of five menu items (e.g. pancakes, french toast, omelette, huevos rancheros, and Mexican style omelette) plus fresh-squeezed juice.

Breakfast is included; free international calls to the US and Canada; WiFi and TV

We would definitely stay here again on our next trip!

Beautiful rooms , patios , excellent attention and delicious morning breakfast. Easy walking to town center. Felt very safe walking at night from plaza to hotel. 24 hour staff available and very secure. We were two couples - one staying in the Frieda room and the other in the Picasso room. We were given a 20 percent discount for booking directly through their website

Casa Calderoni is a great place to stay on a visit to San Miguel. Luis manages the property and is very helpful with questions. The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks from the main square. We stayed in the Matisse room, which has a king bed on one room, two twins in a second room, and it has a separate sitting room for relaxing. Just outside of the suite is another sitting area for a larger group to gather. The king room has air condition, which will cool the entire floorplan. It is very quiet and clean. There is cooked-to-order breakfast and daily housekeeping.

Casa Calderoni was a joy for lodging in San Miguel de Allende. It was conveniently located near Fabrica Aurora, the Market, and the town square. Breakfast was good with plenty to eat. Covid19 testing for clearance to enter the USA was around the corner. Restaurants were numerous within 4-5 blocks. Security was excellent and the manager spoke perfect English and was extremely knowledgeable about the town and tourist activities. Of note, the manager is an excellent musician and performs with his band in a delightful restaurant.
