Spacious rooms and friendly staff. Hotel offers a regular service to downtown San Miguel, a very convenient 5-7 min. drive. Had a good stay overall with a few minor issues: 1) the room has a nice table with two chairs in front of a gas chimney, but noticed several scratches on the table and very visible heat stains that could have been easily corrected; 2) we wanted to use the jacuzzi at the spa, but you have to book it well in advance, and you have to wait 3hrs after it has been used before it’s available again; 3) kitchen smoke/smell concentrates at the central lobby/bar area and permeates to the halls around the hotel all the way to the top floor; 4) minor minor detail but I’ll say it anyway... when you enter the hotel there is a nice table with a lamp and a mirror, (and the TripAdvisor logo in a wooden frame). The lamp shade was crooked/tilted, and was not lit in the evening... not the best first impression. …
We stayed in the hotel just for one day and everything was such a fairytale, very lovely place and the staff was so nice. Also we went out at night and they opened the gate for us at 3am, very flexible. Recommended!!.
We went for one night, it's a little bit far from downtown, but they offer a transportation every hour to take you or pick you up from downtown... the common areas are beautiful, but I think they could put a little more design in the rooms, some things are beautiful but others look so old
The hotel was great overall. The room was big enough for my family of 4. My kids love the heated pool. Had breakfast one day in the hotel but service was slow and prices are high. Took one day their free shuttle into downtown but always took Uber back to the hotel as their return shuttle is not consistent. If i went back i would probably stay closer to downtown where all the action is.
Staff is very friendly and eager to help. Not in downtown but there is a minivan that can take you at no extra cost. Food is also good and they have a good selection of local artisan beers. Will definitely come back.
Everything was as wonderful as we remember. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms and common areas are clean. The king suite is spacious and luxurious. The bed is super comfortable. Looking forward to our next stay!
We didn't stay here, but we met friends here for cocktails. What a great space. service was great. The drinks were amazing! We had a great time. If you're in the area, stop in for a drink! If you're handicapped it's really easy to get up there via their elevator.
This is a great alternative to the downtown expensive boutique hotels. It has the colonial feel, people are warm, and the rooms are very nice! Breakfast is just OK, not awesome, though. Would definitely stay there again when visiting San Miguel de Allende.
This hotel had a nice vibe and the staff was Genuinely nice not just being nice because it’s their job. We thought the room was comfortable. We are a family of four(2 kids) and had plenty of space in the room, the beds were comfortable and it had a real cool Mexican architectural feel. The staff also drove us to downtown and then picked us up when we were ready to leave. The food and the service at the little restaurant was excellent. As for the city of San Miguel Allende, it was a fantastic place that we cannot wait to visit again. Super cool place. We will stay here again!
First of all, I need to mention that I didn't pay for our stay as it was arranged by my boyfriend's family so I can't complain much. A beautiful Mexican style hotel with exquisite rooms. There were couple of things though that I'd like to mention. In San Miguel can be very cold at nights, so in the room and especially in the common areas including restaurant can be quite cold so having warm clothes will be very useful (breakfast in the coat was a bit surprising). Now, breakfast. If you have any plans for the day make sure you leave enough time for breakfast. When we sat at the table we were told that it will take 30-40 min to prepare our breakfast. Nonetheless, it was lovely one. I had a shower around midnight and it was cold. Not sure why, but when outside is +8 and in the room is barely 17 degrees, it was really refreshing. Having said that, the style of the building is quite distinguished. The stairs are unbelievaby beautiful. I am not sure how old it is but I love history and it seems to be a perfect place for me. I really felt like in real Mexico. I am from England so this was amazing despite the above named issues. The bed was so comfortable, I din't want to leave it. The room was massive with a separate sitting area. The design of the rooms is exquisite. You have everything in the room, a heater to warm it up, a proper hairdryer and a coffee machine making a very nice espresso. A big benefit is the shuttle to the centre. As the hotel is far from the centre and on the top of a hill, it is very useful. The driver was very nice guy, chatting us through the city, taking very narrow steep roads of San Miguel which was another unforgettable experience in this fabulous city.…
