We returned to San Miguel with some fear due to the health contingency that we went through and this place gave us a lot of confidence due to all the actions they take to take care of their guests, it's an old house but very well cared for and beautiful, its breakfast is exquisite, the patio where it is served is a bit cool because it's outdoors but the very kind waiters turned on some heaters and se had a great time, on weekends they have a very comprehensive buffet and every meal is so impressively delicious that is impossible not to want to try all of the options. The people who work are very friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond. A very clean, safe and confortable place and still an excellent price. We really recommend it too much. A Word of advise: Do not go with children, it is not a place for them…
Do not stay at the Hotel Hacienda El Santuario: I will regret this stay all my life. My jewelry box is stolen :-(((( Manager is absent and does not return any calls. I also met furious customers with no hot water in their room. The hotel did not solve the issue, the hotel did not propose any room upgrade to this family. After this weekend, I’m suspicious of all the excessively positive comments the hotel received. Vibes are not good at all… It’s a dangerous hotel with dishonest management. I will regret this stay all my life.
Situated close to Benito Juarez park and about ten minutes walk from the center this B&B hotel is pretty with a central courtyard for breakfast. Several little things marred what could have been a more satisfactory stay. The room is dated, the carpet needed replacing, the tiles had lost their polished shine and were a bit stained. The light switch by the door turned off all the power to the room including the TV? At breakfast I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was undercooked, and chopped up and mixed right in the eggs. Weird. We got no toast but then saw other tables of Mexicans getting buns, croissants and toast and jam. We placed a wake up call which we never received. Luckily we had our phone as a back up. Too bad because as I said:- It could be better.
This is a beautiful, colonial hotel minutes walk to La Parroquia. With folk art from different regions of Mexico, and beautifully appointed rooms, we were very pleased. But what also sets this hotel apart is the friendly, exceptional service. Marina and Abraham at the breakfast buffet went out of their way to provide friendly service, including preparing special breakfasts for my wife. We can’t wait to return. We recommend going for El Día de los Muertos and staying here!
Tasteful, charming and comfortable, there's very little not to like about this hotel. I liked the abundance of outdoor space -- patios, terraces and especially, the leafy courtyard, where we had large to-order breakfasts in the morning. The staff was very friendly, professional and eager to help. The location is excellent, right near a very nice park if you're a jogger. A couple of small things to know: It does get rather cool at night in the winter -- about 35F / 3C a couple mornings in February. The A/C unit in the rooms also doubles as a heater. The television has one or two English-language options but, oddly, they're local Florida network TV channels. A BBC or France24 or even CNN would be nice. My only small complaint about the room was the carpet, which looked a bit worn. But that's minor, and overall, I enjoyed my stay at El Santuario, which clearly lives up to its name.…
