The general feel of this place is great. Common area was comfortable and the breakfasts were all tasty and filling. Staff were all pleasant (not a lot of English) and for the most part helpful. Unfortunately the dorm beds were very uncomfortable- super thin mattresses on metal beds. The beds squeak and make a bunch of noise with each movement If you stay be sure to check that there is a board (full length) under the mattress. My first night didn't have one and I woke up many times to have my shoulder wedged between the metal bars. Staff were quick to arrange for a board upon request and the rest of the sleeps were much better (but still not great). Place was clean and in a great location.

I stayed in a private room (with private bathroom) for three nights in mid April. I found the bed comfortable and the giant fan that was provided cooled the room sufficiently. The room was very quiet until around 6:45 am when the staff started to prepare the breakfast. I was already awake so it didn't affect me but might bother those that like to sleep late. Since I had booked with booking.com, my breakfast wasn't included in the rate so next time I will just book directly with the hostel. Coffee and purified water is free and for 30 pesos I could receive breakfast. I had pancakes one day and they were very good. Breakfast is served from 8- 10 am ( would like to see an earlier start) and anyone can use the kitchen after 10:30 am. There is a nice little garden area and a covered area for eating breakfast or just relaxing during the day. The hostel was clean, the staff was friendly (spoke English) and the location was excellent. There are restaurants and tiendas in the area and Colonial Guadalope is a nice area for strolling and checking out all the street art. It is about a 10 minute walk to the centre of this beautiful town. The WiFi signal is not very reliable in the bedrooms.

This place is an excellent choice if you want to stay at an affordable place. The rooms are clean and the service is good. They offered a good breakfast. I had an amazing time at this place. No parking is available, but there is one public parking place around the corner.

We really liked Hostel Inn in San Miguel. We would return. Pros: -Short walk to the center of town (maybe 10 minutes if that) -Food places and tiendas very close by -Pet friendly -Bilingual staff, very friendly -Sister hostel to Hostel Alcatraz around the corner where you can park your motorcycle or bike -Clean hostel with comfy beds -Dorm rooms, private rooms with bathroom or without -Affordable at 400 pesos for a private room with bathroom, 100 for a dorm bed, and 350 for a private with shared bathroom (prices go up 50 pesos on Fridays and Saturdays) -Full use kitchen from 10am-10pm -Free breakfast (though it is usually simple) -Great wi-fi in the room and out in the garden area -Garden area with lawn (great for pets) and lots of covered seating -Good shower with hot water -Soap and towels included -Free filtered water -Plug-in fan in the room for when it gets humid/warm Cons: (minimum and me being picky) -Breakfast is free, but usually very simple and cheap. It is a hot meal each morning served to you. We had tortillas and beans one morning, and a baguette covered in beans another morning. Coffee and tea is served as well, though I think the coffee is pretty low quality and cheap because it made my husband and I both feel very jittery and sick-ish after just 2 small cups (maybe 10 oz all together). If this isn't good enough, you can go grab breakfast at one of the many cafes nearby -No parking at all on site, but like I said, they let us park our motorcycle down at Hostel Alcatraz which was super convenient and nice right down the street.
