Casa Sol is an oasis of charm and leisure on the west end of Zipolite. We stayed at Maquil, their recent development across the street (no Trip Advisor listing for that yet!), and it was heaven. Our villa had two bedrooms, each equipped with a king-size bed, sliding doors (glass and screen) to a private balcony with a view of the entire Playa Zipolite, as well as AC, a ceiling fan, a wardrobe with several drawers, a safe, a TV, and a pristine private bathroom (probably the best plumbing in all of Zipolite). We also had a spacious private saltwater pool overlooking the Maquil complex and the beach, and a large open-air kitchen area with a fridge, small stovetop, lots of storage space, and lots of space to eat and lounge. And while the accommodations themselves are immaculate, it's everything else that makes Casa Sol what it is: the intimate attention with which the staff care for you and your things, the delicious breakfasts prepared and served every day (truly the best we've had on our trip), the poolside happy hour where you mingle with the other guests, the laid-back way with which Craig, Jorge, Ernesto, Pepe or Daniel provide recommendations, give directions, make a reservation, book transportation for you day after day. A real gem.…
We are loving our stay here. Everyone is very friendly and extremely accommodating. Every evening there is a happy hour where drinks are free. It is a good time to meet up with other guests and since the place is small with only 9 rooms it doesn’t take long to get to know everyone. Clean, well kept rooms. Good insect control. The breakfasts are included and delicious. Lunch is available for purchase and I have only had one meal that wasn’t to my liking. There is wine and beer as well as soft drinks you can help yourself to on an honour system. You simply record what you have taken from the fridge. All drinks are 35 pesos. Very reasonable. Already planning our next visit
Paradise, amazingly wonderful staff, ( Ernesto, Pepe, to name just a few), great food, lovely vibe, amazing people staying there. Beautiful location, beautiful spacious rooms. What more can be said? Oh of course, happy hour 😉😂🥃🍺. Keep up the amazing work...we will definitely be back...thsnk you for providing a super honeymoon venue
Beautiful, unique, homey property, and an excellent value. Super welcoming and helpful staff. Great food. Offers a combination of amenities that can be rare in Zipolite - air conditioning, multiple pools (our room came with a private one), great showers with hot water and good water pressure. Absolutely loved our stay at Casa Sol and can’t wait to return.
This place is perfect for a break. One feels at home yet each room is very private and the common areas are never busy. Breakfast is a special Mexican dish every day and lunch can be prepared by the excellent cook Doña Alicia for a reasonable price. And of course there is the daily complimentary happy hour which is a must. The hotel overlooks a small private beach and is within walking distance of the main Zipolite beach and several fantastic small restaurants. It is hard to leave Casa Sol. The staff is just amazing.
