La Loma Linda is the perfect place to relax, refresh and learn. It consists of 6 cabanas/bungalows of different sizes, and 4 rooms, all comfortable and clean and built with natural materials, and located on top of a hill with a great view over the Pacific ocean. La Loma Linda also has a teaching space in our "center" where daily Yoga classes take place. The owner is a Feldenkrais practitioner offering individual and group classes. The teaching space can also be rented for workshops and retreats.

Loved my stay there. The bungalows are built in an environmentally conscious way, they are beautifully kept, you can hear the waves at night, the staff are all wonderful. Dieter (the owner) goes beyond the call of duty to ensure that all of his guests are enjoying their stay. Definitely a place worth staying at - if you are lucky enough to get a room!

I've been travelling for more than 30 years, and La LOMA LINDA is definitively a real gem in both the construction details of each bungalows, but also the magnificent surroundings (gardens, path, view, etc) on the property. Very friendly and helpful owners and their staff. The best of all is probably the location, by being on top of a 50m high rock cliff, in front of the main beach area. Very PEACEFUL and energizing. Thanks Katja & Dieter for preserving after all these years such a beautiful place.

I stayed in a room with a shared dry toilet and outdoor shower, both, not a problem for me.

The view from the top at the reception area is amazing. But, the climb up the stairs from the beach is not.

Pros: The view over the beach and town is fantastic. The staff are friendly and very helpful and rooms at La Loma Linda were very good. I really enjoyed the outdoor shower, mozzie net was mended and big. The hammock was comfy too. The Garden is beautiful with lots of healthy plants and trees growing on the property. The buildings of natural wood and stone are solidly constructed and visually beautiful. Compared to my previous hotel on the beach it was very peaceful and quiet, especially at night.

I didn't join in the yoga but the studio space is lovely, large and breezy.

Cons: the climb up from the beach. If you are staying in a lower cabanna it's not a big deal as they can be reached by one or two stair cases. I didn't count them but there are a lot of narrow stairs up from the beach to the reception area and my room. I am currently doing rehab on a hip and ankle injury so, although it was probably "good for me", combined with the beach walking, to and from restaurants, it was a lot of physical effort. My whiny bit is I would come from the beach refreshed from a swim and be sweating buckets by the time I reached the top and needing a shower. You can avoid the stairs by going around to the main gate on the road but it's a much longer walk and I wouldn't do it at night alone. If you're driving I suppose it would be OK. And bring bug spray here.

I suspect if you're staying in one of the lower cabanas the place is perfect. I didn't see inside them but they looked to have great balconies and outdoor spaces. I'd chose one of them if I was to return here.

Breakfast was meh. I preferred Cafe Esmerelda in town, delicious veggie omelettes.

Cosy rooms with unique architecture. The accommodation offers great views all over the sea and Zipolite from where the beautiful sunsets can be watched, perfect for relaxing in hammocks. Very clean and eco-friendly. The outdoor shower was cool. A cute resident cat even slept in the bed !

One of the best places we stayed in Mexico! The rooms are private and spacious, the outdoor shower is beautiful, and the views are amazing. Katja and her husband are extremely friendly and helpful with anything you need. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to go to Zipolite.

Second time in Huatulco.. first one in Zipolite… I just went there this weekend… and stayed at Loma Linda…. the ocean view from the top bungalows is amazing.. but… there is always a but… we had a little problem with the arrival…. we arrived at the Huatulco airport… and I was told by the owner that any taxi cab could take there… well.. no one knew this place… so I decided to call the phone number I was given.. and guess what? They gave me the wrong number… so well… to make the story short… we were taken to the wrong hotel.. and we had to spend the night there.. I thought it was a bad joke…in the bungalows web site there is not a phone number neither directions…the next day I got the right phone number and I could contact them… We were charged 700 pesos a nigth– about 60 usd.. after the little wrong phone number issue.. we were given a 10usd discount.. and guess what? That was not a discount… since it is low season.. the beach front bungalows for example.. http://www.nudezipolite.com/ - with pool or the http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g150801-d1438378-Reviews-Cabanas_el_Alquimista-Oaxaca_Pacific_Coast.html/ with a BEAUTIFUL restaurant were 600 pesos a night and gave u a discount if you stayed longer. So yeah loma linda is ok..it was pretty clean..but it only has ocean view and you have to walk about 5 min to the beach after going up/down all the loma linda stairs … the other two have the beach right in front of you for a cheaper price and offer you more stuff.. such as pool..bar..and/or a restaurant.. believe me.. I’m coming back to Zipolite… I even invited some friends this morning… but I’m not staying here again..

Response from kdzipo, Owner at La Loma Linda: Bungalows, Yoga and Feldenkrais
Responded Jun 23, 2011
Contrary to what is stated in the review we have a detailed description of how to get to La Loma Linda on our Website! We also offer to arrange pick up from the airport if you like. We assume that when you arrive at the airport in Huatulco you do not only tell the taxi that you want to go to La Loma Linda but that you also tell him that it is located in Zipolite (!) otherwise it may happen that they will transport you to another town - as it happened in this case - where they took them all the way to Puerto Escondido which is more than two hours from Huatulco and costs twice as much as going to Zipolite! People have always found us in the past, even if it meant that they were going to Zipolite first and then asked once they got there where we are located. The mistake in the phone number was an unfortunate typing error in the area code. As soon as I noticed I send out another mail with the correct one. I will make sure this will not happen again.

I really had a great stay at this place. The staff is amazing, the food was super healthy and the views are breathtaking (I stayed at Luna). Personally I would not mind if they had hot water but I survived.

I stayed at La Loma Linda for nearly two weeks in February 2016. The room was perfect, clean and comfortable with a spectacular view. Dieter and Katja were the perfect hosts. The place is a quick hop to the beach, the yoga studio was ideal and the breakfast was unfailingly delicious. You can't do better in Zipolite.

My travel partner and I were in Zipolite in mid-September, which, as it turned out, was the lowest point of low season, meaning the place was pretty much deserted. As such, we wound up getting a fantastic deal on our accommodation. We initially booked their least expensive bungalow with shared bathroom, but it turned out that those were being renovated so we lucked out and got upgraded to the Colibri bungalow. This bungalow was massive! We definitely did not feel like backpackers during our two night stay there. We kept on referring to it as our honeymoon suite, because that's what the bungalow felt like. Massive, clean, comfortable bungalow with a high thatched roof and multiple windows. Super comfy king size bed, great pillows, a nice big hammock (big enough for 2 people) in the middle of the bungalow, along with a sofa on the side of the bungalow that could have slept another adult. Plenty of space and furniture, tables, chairs, a refrigerator (for chilled fruit and cold beers!), water dispenser and two safety boxes. Outside the bungalow, on our spacious terrace, we had a separate area for the eco-friendly composting toilet (we thought it was a great idea and it didn't smell at all), separate sink area and huge shower area with another sink and if you were tall enough, a view of the ocean. We got sunlight on some parts of the terrace so it was great for drying things out thoroughly. We didn't eat breakfast here as we opted to eat on the beach. They offer yoga classes every morning, which we had intended to go to, but didn't manage to make it. Pre-sunset yoga classes would have been a much more ideal time for us. The owners Katja and Dieter were very friendly and kind to us and took the time to thoroughly explain all the aspects of the room and the property. We actually wound up spending more time in our bungalow than on the beach, because it was so nice to hang out there. You could hear the cars passing by on the main road out in front once in a while, but overall, the property was very quiet, yet conveniently located. Literally 30 seconds to the beach, meaning you could leave everything in your room and just walk downstairs and across the street in your swimwear. Free boogie boards for guests, which was a nice way to spend a couple of hours playing in the waves. Close to this new bar (I think it was called The Hippie Hour?), a very basic shack on the beach serving 15 peso beers. Can't beat that. Great food at Posada Mexico about 5 minutes walk down the beach. We went to Puerto Escondido the day we checked out and upon our arrival at our hostel there, all I could think about was how much I miss La Loma Linda and our bungalow! Keep it up Katja and Dieter!

This was the recommended accommodation for a yoga retreat on their premisses. La Loma Linda is thoughtfully designed and landscaped, clean and well kept with all your basic needs met with a smile. The room was airy with mosquito netting over the bed; the separate shower and bathroom fixtures were beautifully and privately designed 'outside'; the hammock on he balcony had an excellent view of the ocean and surrounding countryside; the food was excellent and very accommodating to personal health and preferences. I was less than a minute from the studio and the dining area as I shared the room,Torre, with a friend. Katia and Dieter were very friendly and helpful in arranging anything - transportation, buying hammocks and excellent massage practitioners. It was wonderful to be two minutes to the beach but up the hill with the breeze, great views of the ocean amid lush vegetation and interesting bird life. I also took advantage of Katia's expertise as a Feldenkrais instructor - very helpful.

Hi Jesse, we would have availability for the dates your are looking for. We are located right above zipolite beach, where you can chose whether you want to swim clothed or not... and yes, different swimming conditions, there are always some waves, sometimes currents where you have to be carless, best is playing in the water with boogie board or body surfing. Kayaking only when pretty quiet, but I have seen people do it. Other beaches nearby are all a little different. There is birdlife, also lots of sealife, still whales around by then, dolphins, turtles....if interested best to write us at lalomalinda
