My hubby and I stayed here for our 6 year anniversary to be close to Bond Falls. Everything was wonderful, clean and cozy. We stayed in the Gray Wolf cabin. The king size bed was comfortable, we loved grilling outside on the charcoal burner they provide, the kitchen area inside comes with so many useful things. It was just awesome and we loved everything about our stay. Linda and her husband were great with us at check in. We hope to be back again one day!

Have stayed/reviewed before but it keeps getting better! The cabins are small, but clean. No a/c but fans and you have cool UP nights. No microwaves but stove, pots, pans, utensils and can build a campfire in the congregate area and wood provided. Wi-if is now reliable! Dog friendly but must be caged if left alone in cabin. Post co-vid..supply more of you4 own personal items (pillows, sleeping bags/blankets, towels)…it’s all spelled out on their website. Near Bond Falls, Paulding mystery light, casino down the road as well as groceries, restaurant, laundromat up the road, right on ATV trails with room for trailer and parking. If your machine is ailing, sales/repair/rental in Watersmeet. The owners are very accommodating and have a wealth of knowledge of the area and willing to share. They take pride in their resort and taking care of their guests. Treat them well..they deserve it.…

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The owner was extremely kind and she helped us with directions for snowmobiling and takeout restaurant's. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well maintained. We had plenty of snow while there, and the parking area was well maintained. We are already planning our trip back next year.

Me and my friends rented a cabin for snowmobiling last year and we stayed the entire week. The cabin was very clean and extremely comfortable. The owners were very accommodating and we will be returning this year for a 10-day trip! The deer frequently traveled right by the cabins and that was cool!

This was our first trip up to the western part of the Upper Peninsula, and we were so happy that we chose to stay at Running Bear Resort. We stayed in the Bald Eagle Cabin and absolutely loved it. The cabin was very clean, had a spacious living room, bathroom & kitchen, the bed was very comfortable, and the cabin was equipped with free wifi, and Roku TV. The owner was super sweet, friendly and extremely helpful. If you are looking for a relaxing, affordable getaway in the heart of the western Upper Peninsula, then this is it. Running Bear Resort is a perfect central location to stay at if you’re looking to explore the surrounding area, and attractions. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our stay perfect!

Another 7days stay and still great. The owners are so personable and have so much info on the area ... great resources. Different cabin this year (whitetail deer theme) but clean, comfortable. No change from prior review (last year) but if you have your ATV/UTVs with, you have so many options and trails due to the local ATV clubs, it is amazing! Go north, south, east or west ... ! This is one of the few places this far north that does not require a 7 day rental... if they have a cabin available and you only need one night while passing thru, you can rent it. There are limited cabins/rooms available in the area ... watersmeet to the south or don’t -know - where farther north but it could be a long drive unless you are camping or have friends/family in the area. Give this place a try... you will return. …

On the was back from Copper Harbor / Houghton, we stayed Saturday night. We checked in a little later than planned. (Side trip to ER) The owners were very accommodating. We (me/ hubby/ college age daughter/ high school age daughter) stayed in the Black Bear Cabin. It was perfect for what we needed. One bedroom ; with double bed and bunk beds. The living room had two nice size couches. This is where the college age daughter slept (Leg was in a brace due to ER visit) All beds and couch were comfortable. There was free wi-fi and decent TV and stations. In the main living area we had to have the owners come over to start the heater (first real cold spell of season) Kitchen and bathroom - nothing fancy but worked. Bring food/ coffee etc. They supply everything else to make meals/breakfast. Note: no microwave - but there are wine glasses :) Bathroom is small but functionable - bring your own towels. We will be back and are planning on staying for several days; to enjoy the ability to relax and see the sites in the area.…

The owners and care takers of Running Bear Resort were very friendly. Helpful with info about area. This was my first trip up to upper Michigan so all was new to explore. The cabin we had was a two bedroom with a kitchen, bathroom and living area. It was clean and had all we needed to stay there. The bed I had was fairly comfortable. The daybed in living room was also comfortable. Didn't sleep in any of the other beds. The resort was located right near Bond falls. The Ottawa National Forest visitor center was only 12 miles away. Shopping and touristy fun was found in Eagle River WI just 40 miles south. Ontonagon and Lake Superior was just north 40 miles. Porcupine Mountains State park was only 50 miles up. Iron Mountain to the East. Great location for lots of things to do. I loved how quiet it was there and how clean the cabin was. The price can't be beat. I have paid more for hotel rooms that didn't have all that was available here. There is nothing here that I did not like. Will be staying here again when I venture north.…

Have passed by this UP resort for years but never thought of staying until reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. The cabin was small (2 bedroom), small kitchen with large fridge, small gas stove. No microwave and no air conditioning but has ceiling fans and small fans. Small bathroom - shower, no tub. very rustic, Northwoods motif but clean. Each cabin is probably different but ours had a tv with many stations (cable? Satellite?). WI-FI available but frequent disconnects. Grounds have fire pit, horseshoes and located directly to access ATV routes...you can go many miles right from the resort. Owners are very friendly and welcoming and take pride in their resort. Pet friendly and can be left in cabin alone IF contained (we had a soft foldable crate for our Lab which worked well). No smoking cabins. Cookwear and basic kitchen needs provided. Walking distance to the Paulding store (basic necessities, bait, camping gear, great ice cream) and 7 miles from scenic Bond Falls and the mystery Paulding light. Ten miles from Bruce Crossing where there is a larger Co-op Store for shopping, Chars Restaurant, gasoline, hardware store. South about 9 miles is Watersmeet .. restaurants, store, gasoline. Northern Waters casino is about 5 miles away. Will return to this nice resort when staying in the Western UP. They are in the Eastern time zone.…

This place is cute, wilderness charm. The cabins are warm, kitchenettes nice. We wish we brought groceries, you have a stove and refrigerator. The charm is rustic and the owners are very nice. It's a good place to stop on a snowmobile trip to rest, located off an ORV path which takes you there.
