The exterior is beautiful, sadly we need to stay inside and not outside. Our room was old, there were no shower curtains, phone or a/c. The windows in our room were broken and we had to get someone to fix and open them. This led to bugs and noise coming in. Needless to say that

We chose the hotel because it seemed old and charming. It was both old and charming, and the new part was built nicely into the old one. The rooms did not have TV but that was no problem for us, but it is ok to be aware of it. Since it was a gamelt Norwegian hotel one could

I am not a fan of historic houses, we chose Torvis because of its proximity to the meeting point of our glacier hike. I believe our Double Room with Queen Bed was in the newer wing. The room was very basic, with freshly painted light grey walls and wood floors. Minimal

Dear TPHK, it was a pleasure to hear, even you don't like historic hotels, that you enjoyed your stay with us.All the nice comments about the staff and food has been passed onto the appropriate departments. Yes, the burden of some historic hotels is, that they do not have an elevator as this was not available at the time of building and sometimes it is not possible to add it. The owner is aware of the maintenance and is working on it. Hope to see you another time. Regards,

Hi Martine, we always appreciate the feedback from our guests. Nice to hear that our food has pleased you. Yes, the owner is aware of the fact that there is constant maintenance do do. When Tørvis Hotell was built there has not been a lot of rooms. In the 1970's the extension, which you mentioned, has been built and about 10 years ago the rooms have been renovated. Too bad, that you did not check back with our staff what to do in the area, where to go and what to explore, because there are so many things to see that even three days will not be enough ! Hope to see you again for all those items you did not see during this time stay with us.

I've been to the hotel several times and it's always a pleasure. Last time was in the end of July this summer. The location is awesome with spectacular view to the fjord and mountains. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, the rooms are prima and clean, and the food is great. The
