This is our third time going up here with family and friends. Upon checking in at 4:40 p.m. has Fatima Cottage at 109 Forest Road 4 p.m. oh, we were greeted by it's Fatima and Mario who's Cottage was impeccable it was a wonderful stay and the cottage was very clean. However the gate screw was loose and when they left when close the door it came out the husband had said to my husband he must get that fixed permanently, they warned us about any fighter being loose there were two screws loose during our stay on the second night one of them apart spell off would you guys 16 year old daughter put on phone repair, on checking out she sent me a picture of a list of dirty things one being a small spaghetti sauce stain on the stove, a dirty spoon from Dollarama the big black ones, a small pink candy on the front of the chair which was turned in which I guess when the grandkids are over we forgot to wipe down, and two blue stains on the wall I don't even know if they're stains they could probably have been wiped off. Which we had an oversight on. We left the cottage and what we thought was such clean condition we even used her address for next year's rental as a referral! Oh we also forgot bread in her cupboard which she was adamant that this was all part of our "vandalizing". Upon waiting the 48 hours after cleaning her cottage from check out, I was expecting our $500 deposit back, to which she sent pictures of a few things that she used to state "I'm keeping your $500 deposit for vandalism and ignorance". 2 of the pics included a BBQ with stain on top we have no idea how that got there it did rain one night? And the outside black cooler had what looked like white ashes from a fire pit blown over on it? We don't even know how either got on them. I have all the pictures if anyone is interested in seeing what "damages" and "vandalism" we did, I can e-mail if interested. I tried to reason with her to negotiate to keep $250 of the money if that's how she felt but she refused and told me she could take me to court for more than the $500 in Damages. During the e-mail contract all it was was the agreement of what we were to bring, check in/out times etc and when we got there at 4:40 p.m. she was still cleaning up saying "oh the last Cottage renters left it in such a mess". Then I proceeded up to her car and signed about eight pieces of paper which of course I just didn't read I just checked in and figured they were just standard probably stating everything was operational order which in hindsight now - please beware read everything you sign everything probably said it was in good working order which it was not. We had a really great stay at the Shores, as we do every year as it's lovely there with lots to do, however that crook experience with this one owner really left a really bad impression and taste in our mouths. Her BBQ tank was empty so we filled it and 2 of her golf cart tires were flat, we aired them at Birdie's no biggie. What really hurt/surprised us is when I attempted to reason/negotiate with her, she threatened me on the "do not rent to" list as well. We've never experienced this, and were both shocked and disappointed. It is unfortunate as we cleaned that place very well and the few oversights certainly did not merrit $500. Finally, the Shores always provided us with good memories with friends who also rent yearly up there, and our families, I just feel completely ripped off this time.

We have decided to stay at the Sherkston Shore due to prior years wonderful experience. At one point we were even looking to buy a trailer(somewhere I am glad we didn't). We have had a birthday celebration for a 3 year old boy, all of us were very excited and looking forward, however the next day we have decided to go with our friends to the pool, not only that we were denied to come back on the same day we were treated with such a disgraceful manner and rude from the pool staff. It just ruined our stay. To deny us due to 3 year old jumping into the pool while the manager Trish had announced that you are allowed back as long as you jump right back otherwise you need to go back to the line which does make sense. However we were denied as per we have committed a crime. Yes there are rules giving COVID, however you yourself have to follow it first and be human beings, polite nevertheless we have paid for it and we showed respect and come in to have fun as we all in this COVID nigthmare. Can you imagine the look of kids after sitting at home for over 3 months, couldn't see their friends nor go and do anything fun, how hard and honestly painfull to see the sadness and disappointment in their eyes. More so I have emailed Tony the General Manager almost a week ago and haven't heard anything, what does that show you!🤔 There were more unpleasant moments that made all this get away to a bad experience. I intend to make sure that our story will be heard. The next day we have decided to go to the MeadowQuarry that's the small pond that is by the pool area, we have had a wonderful time, the water and the beach, up until there was an incident when there was a suspicious for some one drowned, eventually the person thank god was live and sound. Anyhow it is unfortunate when people due to their personal agendas or mood disrupting and ruining others stay. It is just not supposed to be that way! Thank you.

This was our third year in a row returning to Sherkston. Every year our group gets bigger. This year we had 6 trailers booked in Evergreen. We always book the same wheel chair accessible trailer #81 for ourselves as my husband is disabled and we always feel so comfortable there. I notice some new items added to the kitchen inventory this year which was nice. The BBQ and firepit is quite difficult to access in a wheelchair from this particular cabin as its really narrow between the trailer in front and theres some kind of post in the way so my husband has to wheel around onto the road and behind 2 other trailers to get there. Perhaps this is something to improve on for better accessability. I spoke to management and posted reviews in previous visits about increasing beach access for wheelchair users by providing beach mats or ramps somewhere. I did not notice any action or improvement on this this year which was dissapointing. So many Ontario beaches offer the beach mats now and it really wouldn't be hard to have one installed on the quarry beach. I really hope this is considered as we have once again booked to come back again next year. We feel the park is great value for money with fantastic amenities for the kids. The staff were exceptionally good with followong all the new COVID protocols and we felt in good hands. I was especially impressed with life guards at the pool. All young girls but very good at their job, one of the kids in our group was rescued from the water on Sunday and I could not of been more grateful and impressed with their professionalism. I also noticed an improvement on security around the park and not so many teenagers buzzing around on golf carts late at nite as in previous years, seems to be way more under control which was good to see. I would like to see a life guard sitting at the dock / platform at the quarry lake where everyone jumps off. There was some out of control kid's getting a bit rough and unsafe with no parents around which ruins it for everyone else and is of course a safety concern. Other than that though the quarry beach is our favorite place to hang out we just love it there. I thought the check in and check out procedures were extremely well done and improved this year especially with all the COVID protocols in place, it was handled very well. All in all another great family weekend spent and we will continue to return. I just hope accessability suggestions will be addressed eventually.

Stayed here with family recently and it was pretty good. All grounds were well maintained considering the hot weather we've been having. Beach and pool area also good. Friendly people in store as well. Only thing that made me shake my head was one of the security guards that were driving around the park. I saw multiple 4 seater golf carts driving around at high speeds with 5-6 teenagers in it only to come across 2 older guys getting pulled over for some reason. I stopped to listen and the security person was being extremely rude and disrespectful to them. Not sure if I want to come back here again when I get older so that teenage security guards can play favourites with the younger crowds in my opinion... Other than that incident, was a good time.
