Lovely 3 night stay in the Harthope room. Everything is special at the Old manse. Facilities are wonderful, the beds are so comfy and enhanced by the peace and quiet. The location is great for beaches and countryside, we even spent a day in the Scottish borders. The breakfasts are excellent with a great choice, lots of options for vegetarians.

You've summed up what we like to offer - a traditional B&B with nice finishing touches - so I'm glad that we met all expectations. More

The Old Manse is a lovely B&B run by Ian and Mary. We only stayed one night, in the Harthope room, which has fab views from double aspect windows, a four-poster bed, and large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle. Thoughtful added extras such as bathrobes, plenty of toiletries, tea/coffee/milk/water/biscuits/sweeties, as well as a very tasty cooked breakfast served... More

We absolutely loved our stay here. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. It was so lovely after a long day to arrive and find we had been booked in locally for dinner a nice touch. We had our four legged friend with us so we were in the suite. It was really great to have so much... More

We like dogs, but don't one of our own, so think they should be spoilt as much as their owners when they stay with us. The INgram Suite is the only room where dogs are allowed, but is ideal as it has its own private access to the garden. More

We stayed five nights and enjoyed every minute of it as Ian and Mary made us so very welcome. Our beautiful bedroom was the epitome of comfort with a pretty four poster bed, double aspect views and tasteful furnishings. It was great to have a wee fridge too and fresh milk instead of synthetic tasting stuff! There was even room... More

Thank you for your full review - I enjoyed reading it. Ian and Mary are accomplished hosts, all the little details have been thought through. We stayed in the Ingram Suite:- large bedroom, king size bed, en suite with bath and separate shower, attached sitting room with a TV & DVD player. Ian's breakfast cooking was perfect; fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, home made sausages, floddies (a Northumbrian Rosti), lovely delicate smoked haddock... More

What a lovely b&b! Ian and Mary couldn't have done any more to make our weekend special. When we arrived Mary provided a wealth of information on the many things we could do in the local area and we headed straight out to explore the coast. The room was lovely and spacious, with lots of extra touches. Breakfast was delicious,... More

Stayed for three nights with friends. Ian and Mary are quite simply faultless as hosts. Wonderful accommodation and home from home. Great breakfast and nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be returning to this wonderful place. If you chose to stay here you will not be disappointed

Thanks for your review. I agree with your sentiments but must add that, The Old Manse being old Victorian minister's house, the Presbyterians would not let Carlsberg get a look in. More
