Went for an early meal. We had booked and our table was ready. I really liked the fact that the specials, as well as being on a board, were also printed out in front of us. The food was great but the portions were extremely large. As my black pudding starter was so good, I decided to finish it and,... More

Nice rural setting. Good locally sourced food, simply but tastefully prepared. Main criticism is the speed at which we were served, which was too fast. We would have enjoyed a more leisurely pace but did not get it, despite asking.

This restaurant had been recommended by a friend so we were confident it would be ok. We had not made a table reservation so arrived early at around 7pm to ensure we would get to eat. We were met by a lovely waitress who showed us to a table and who took our order for drinks while we checked the... More

Food is excellent, staff are very attentive and friendly. I would recommend it for an overnight stay and/or a meal. We stopped for our sons graduation from UCLAN Preston and also to visit the Archaeology dig in the village being carried out the UCLAN Archaeology team.

Went with a party of people who were my workmates. Everybody had a sandwich except my wife and I, who ordered a roast beef dinner. We both enjoyed the meal, which were generous portions, which left no room for a sweet. Prices are what you would expect for a pub in the Ribble Valley. Slightly higher than your restaurants, which... More

My husband and I visited this attractive looking pub, for our lunch. We arrived at 12.05, (it served food from 12.00 midday). We were the only people in the pub at that time. We ordered a drink, then proceeded to our table, where we were given a menu to choose from. There was a very nice specials menu also. By... More

Called in for a quick dinner one evening. Nice may renovated inside and comfortable environment despite the restaurant part being a little chilly. Food was on the whole good. Really nice chips, very good roast beef and large salads. Bit of an odd black pudding starter consisting of a boiled or steamed full black pudding and what seemed to be... More

This place is fantastic since it's renovation and the staff are really nice and welcoming.the food as a rule is faultless and the menu varied. Today however I got about as much fat as I did roast lamb. Such a shame as everything else was good and it spoilt a nice family lunch. I am not averse to some fat... More

We visited this establishment on recommendation of relatives who reside locally and use the premises regularly. We had a warm welcome and staff recognised my cousin and we were seated immediately at our reserved table. The orders for food and drink were taken and the pub was very busy being Sunday lunchtime, so there was a little delay in food... More

We went today (have been a few times in last couple of months so thought I'd review) and we can't fault it. The food / service / price / beer are excellent. I had the roast beef and its faultless exactly as you'd want from a roast. It was busy but plenty of staff all happy to help and food... More
