Cabin is in a great location as base camp for rafting. Had a great Labor Day weekend on the rivers. The staff across the street at the Inn were great. The grill ran out of propane later in the evening and there were no issues getting a refill from the Inn.
Came up for a buddies bachelor party to go white water rafting. The cabins were beautiful, food was incredible and the service was better than all of it. The sumo wrestling was a time had by all. the boys and I can’t wait to come back up
First off, everyone at the Inn by the River was SUPER friendly and helpful. This review is really based on the quality of the cabins, which were very poor. I expected them to be rustic, but I did not expect them to look like they had not been cleaned in 20 years. Also, every bed had springs sticking up into your back when you tried to sleep. They really need to replace all of the beds and furniture. The bathroom had been re-done and was nice and clean. It was beautiful to have a cabin right next to the river and we spent most of our time sitting on the porch. But, there was also lots of trash that folks had thrown off the side of the porch and no one had cleaned up. Perhaps I would feel better about the cabin if it were half the price. For what you are paying, it is not worth it.…
We recently had a reunion in West Forks of older kayakers who had paddled together for over 30 years. The cabin was a prefect fit for the five of us. It is typical "old Maine" rustic but is very clean and has about everything you would need for a family or large group. We pretty much paddled most of the time we were there but the cabin has a great deck overlooking the river and a large fire pit and gas grill.
If your are looking for for a rustic get away, these cottages are equipped with everything necessary. Beautiful placement on the river. In addition there is a lovely restaurant directly across the road. We had a great time!
