At about $40 US during the high season, this hotel is a little overpriced. The best thing about the hotel is the beautiful lawn overlooking the river and the restaurant's great view of the bridge. The walls of the duplexes are thin, but the rooms are spacious. AC works fine, hot water showers work well, the bathrooms are clean and large...

It was a long walk from where the boat dropped us onto the island, but it was worth it. Our bungalow is right on the river and I am sitting in a wicker armchair on the porch as I write this. The people are lovely who work here, and our lunch yesterday was excellent. Only downside is that the walls...

Stayed for 3 days over Christmas. The location is right next to the bridge to Don Det (which makes for fantastic people watching from the hotel restaurant). The bungalows are like duplexes, and the walls are thin. Expect to hear noise from your neighbors. The condition of everything inside the room (bed, AC, fan, furniture, wifi, etc) was good. You...

Pro Bungalows are ok with a great view. Mattresses where good. Ac works good breakfast and service Cons Only the quality of the bungalows does not fit the price. Bathroom needs some maintenance and renovation. Everything is a little bit worn out. If you get them for a cheap price they could be ok. If you prebook, look for something...

Don Khon is a laid back island where we extended our stay to while away even more nights. We moved to this hotel because it had air conditioning and good wifi (for Laos). While significantly more expensive than our previous accomodation the free breakfast and feeling of security offset the difference considerably. The owner and team here are friendly and...

Due to another bad experience (see The Sunset Paradise - now closed), our guide booked for us in this resort. The price seemed very high (USD 33) but perfect accomodation was promised. In fact, location is great, on the river, bugalows correct and equipment almost luxury (bathroom with shower and hot water, air cond ...). But maintenance and cleaning too...

Lovely setting! We didn't stay here but visited the restaurant. Staff are super friendly. Is a lovely place for a tranquil meal. Photo is of the view of the Mekong and a small island with a hut. Located just after the French rail bridge.

We stayed at the Seng Aloung from 8-10 December. One of the more pricier places in Don Khone but totally worth it. We had a great view of the bridge in the morning, a nice terrace to drink morning coffee, continuous hot water and good A/C and fan. Drinking coffee ( waterboiler in the room) with the relaxing sounds of...

Located by the Frenchman's Bridge A row of wooden lodges, some larger than the others with verandas that look over a small strip of grass and the Mekong River, a nice setting. Our room (12) was large, had efficient Air. con. and a modern ceiling fan, enough stowage space, a massive fridge, TV, no safe but tea and coffee. The...

Basic room with a uncomfortable bathroom. Good position and a nice garden out of the room. Low service, they can make a little effort to value this accommodation. For example: breakfast is included but they serve us stale bread, a cup of heated tea and they said that it wasn't possible to have some fruit.
