Very well located in the center of the island, they have different types of accommodation, all nice (the house is cooler, bungalows have a nice view). simple breakfast but good. I did not try the restaurant.

Sala Don Khone offers a great view over the river which is perfect for sunset. However be advised here are lots of mosquitos!! The Staff are more interested in watching videos on their phone and you have to shout at them to get their attention. The menu is varied however it offers very few vegetarian options. These few vegetarian options... More

The idea does sound magnificent but the floating bungalows shook so bad that my husband felt a little bit nauseous. The pool was simply of an acceptable standard and should not be advertised as a pool. It was green and uninviting and looked like it hadn't been maintained for quite some while. We hesitate to give bad reviews but in... More

We stayed three nights altogether at Sala Don Khone and were satisfied. maybe the price is a little bit too high for what you get, but I was happy all along. I had booked a French Suite, which means we had the pleasure by staying in the old French hospital by 1896. The room insidewas furnished in full retro style... More

We stayed at the floating bungalows for 3 nights and wish that we'd seen more of their reviews. The original idea of a floating bungalow was great and well thought out, but it looked like they hadn't been maintained in a long time, and the toilet was leaky and we were a little fearful that we'd end up sinking with... We really loved our stay at Sala Don Khone; we stayed in one of the floating cabins and it was spectacular sitting on the balcony with the Mekong rushing past just inches away. The pool was great, you looked out over the river as you swam; and apparently it's one of only pools on the islands. However the Sala is... More

Having read previous reviews, I went into this place with an open mind. We arrived by boat and was staying in one of the rooms on land, not the floating bungalows. Arriving at lunch, we ate here first and the food was very disappointing almost devoid of flavour. The room itself was fine, decent size beds, good air con and... More

First the positive things: it's definitely one of the nicer hotels on the island if you do not prefer to sleep in a wooden shack. That much for variety on Don Khone. The French Residence we stayed in is huge, clean and comes with a nice little terrace for a beer after a long day cycling. It's a heritage building... More

We visited the 4000 islands as part of our honeymoon round South East Asia - we stayed in room 1 - the best floating bungalow! Great food, really great service, clean rooms, lovely pool -a perfect stay for 2 nights. All the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - they arranged a wonderful sunset private boat trip,... More
