Check in is from 14:00. We arrived at 15:45 and no room was available when we arrived. We had to sit and wait until 16:30 to get our room. When we did go to bed one of the beds was in verry poor condition. It was really worn down and was on its last legs
The hotel is really a strange place as you meet no staff at all. Upon arrival, you call the remote reception and receive a six-digit code for your door. Location is superb as it is within 5 minutes walking distance from the airport. Beds are fine and the shower excellent. It is however, very weird that this hotel offers no restaurant. On the whole island of Vagar you can hardly find a café or restaurant, which basically means that you need to visit the supermarket whenever you arrive or leave Faroe Islands. The hotel provides a breakfast but this is available only from 7 in the morning, which means that it is useless for all passengers with outgoing morning flight. Considering that this is the only hotel at Vagar island, I find the lack of service rather frustrating.
Don’t be put off by there being no reception. It all works really smoothly, and there are staff around in the daytime too. Really close to the airport, but with so few flights it doesn’t matter and you are close to Søravagur for all amenities. Get a room at the back of the hotel for views. Decent self-service breakfast, hot and cold food. No provision for other meals so plan ahead. Clean and comfortable, with friendly staff.
I love the location of this Hotel, close to aiport but litturely out in nature My latest stay April 9th. Was a “ NEGATIVE” surprise that the hotel has developed to a no staff Hotel, one cannot bay food, beverage, or anything!! – Google 4 restaurants in 10 km distance was all closed, I ended baying food in a super-marked and prepare in my room – had to bay 1time plates etc. Still the location is close to a marvel’s road taking you from a small harbor to the mountain, its so beautiful and to mee a perfect run. There is no noise in the hotel, and the nature makes your sleep wonderful and then you can enter airport in the morning free of panic. I wirily miss the former restaurant where you could by first class food, when it was available it made it up to be the best experience
The only plus is that you can drop off car and walk to airport in the morning. The outside of the hotel needs work. We were aware that there was no one on site; You press a button outside to gain admittance to hotel by speaking to someone and giving reservation. They assigned us to a room which was not made up from previous guests. Pressed button again and then waited for new room. We appeared to be only people in hotel. At breakfast again saw no one. Very strange.
Inhuman - no reception. No exchange Poor service (breakfast) No communication Breakfast not ready at 6:30 as announced Rooms too hot Very disappointing experience. Too bad because good location, nice dining area and setup (furniture etc) oK
If you expect a 3-star hotel you get very very disappointed. It’s really expensive for what I would call a 1 star motel. There are no staff to check you in, this is done via an I-pad and a code to the door via email. No personal service or interaction. No one to welcome you. The I-pad thing did not work, and we had to call several times. No staff visible at all. Anywhere. Breakfast is more fresh and welcoming at the gas stations so do that instead. Avoid it at the hotel. Coffee is not fresh. Is was almost cold and tasted like being brewed several hours earlier. It’s really bad. First time we have stayed in a hotel without seeing any staff at all. And then the heat in the hotel and in the room! We slept with window open to the parking lot to try and cool down, and even then the heat came from somewhere else. The lobby area is like a sauna. Really warm and really really bad air quality. This hotel is so bad and so weird that we had to laugh. A shame that we have paid quite a lot though. Worst experience ever on our road trip around Faroe island. Never ever again. Cannot recommend. Find somewhere else. …
As other reviews will confirm, the hotel is adjacent to the airport and is a 5 or 10 min walk from the main terminal building. I used the hotel on the first and last night of my visit which meant I could reduce the time I had a hire car. The hire car centre at the airport is between the hotel and the terminal building. The rooms are clean and light, but slightly basic. The airport isn't busy so there aren't too many flights per day. Buffet breakfast included in the price. There is also a restaurant which wasn't busy on my first night but on the last night the restaurant was full and it took a while to be served, although, I was warned that this would be the case.
We stayed overnight for early morning flight. Room was small, clean, nice. Bathroom close to bed and after shower there was a lot of steam and ventilation didn't do job so we opened bathroom door and window and it was just fine. Bed was super cozy and amazing pillows, just very hard to find cozy pillows in hotels so this is very big plus. Stuff was hard to find but when girl came she was very kind and gave me extra shampoo and towel. because I've had long hair and there they have super small bottles of shampoo which at first we had one for two persons for one night it should be enough if you have short hair. Breakfast was excellent, we had to hurry to airport and again couldn't find receptionist so we have left key/card to the kitchen stuff. I would come here again because bed and breakfast are excellent and that's very important to me and my husband. 3 mite walks to the airport, very nice. …
Stayed for one night to join a Christmas party. I was given my room key by intercom, which was ok, but when I returned during the night the door was closed. I tried the intercom but he didn’t know how to open the door. I waited at least ½ hour to get the door opened. Very bad service :-(
