A very small and friendly b'n'b and also the islands only restaurant. Small and rustic rooms with hardly any sound isolation. Small bathroom en suite. Friendly staff that can give you good ideas for excursions. I didn't expect that much since there wasn't any alternative but was positively surprised.

As mentioned by other travellers, there are bed bugs at Kristianshus, so we cannot recommend staying there. If you need accommodation at Mykines, try the other B&B/ guesthouse (Yellow house? Gulahusid) instead - however, if you only want a daytrip for watching the puffins, it is perfectly fine to take the morning ferry out to Mykines, trek to the lighthouse... More

I stayed at Kristianshus at Mykines for 4 days as part of a group of photographers and nature lovers. Accommodation is very basic, and you should definitely not expect too much. Food was okay, but lunch was the same all way through (sandwich with egg), evening meal was fine, but we had two different meals twice (fish soup & salmon... More

*****DO NOT STAY HERE***** bed bugs are rampant. The owner spent 3 hours cleaning our room and we had to wait downstairs before it was ready after traveling all day. The owner obviously knew there was bugs in the room but still made that room available. Myself and my traveling companion both now have MANY bites all over our bodies.... More

While the rooms where very basic they were ok except for the bed bugs. When we arrived the owner was cleaning our room and she took about three hours so she MUST have known about the bugs. Inside of arranging a room in the other guesthouse (yellow house) which had rooms , she just kept quiet and let us stay... More

it's simply the perfect accomodation for this kind of place and the spirit you should have in a trip to Faroe islands. Kristianshus is located in one of the few wooden house of the only village of Mykines island. is the only place on the island where you can find something to eat or drink, or anything you would find... When we went they were busy, as the cafe downstairs was full and the rooms upstairs too, all using one tiny toilet. The cafe is a godsend, as there's nowhere else to buy anything on the island. They do coffee for 20 kroner, and sandwiches for 40 kroner and other snacks, and a decent but expensive dinner for 150 kroner.... More

We were recently unfortunate/fortunate enough to get stranded on the island of Mykines as the water was too rough for a boat to reach us. While we drank and ate a little at Kristianshus, we couldn't afford the 400 DKK per person for the small rooms upstairs. There's a hostel across the street for almost half the price (the yellow... The accommodation at Kristianshus is very basic, but the staff is very friendly, and the island and tiny village of Mykines is worth a visit.
