Great location, walkable into town and to the mountain in nice weather. Friendly staff. Nice lobby area. Convenient that they have a Starbucks and small shop on the property. Didn’t eat the restaurant, but it looked nice enough. Good spot for summer or winter given the ski lift on site.

Hotel's Favorite
The Westin in Avon was one of our favorite Starwood properties and did not dissapoint us on a recent return visit, as a Marriott property. We are seniors and love the ease of skiing the ski valet provides us, gondola located out the door, shuttle to Vail, great breakfasts, Maya restaurant (although we heard it is changing), spa, cookie madhouse at 5, and especially the upgrade we were provided for being platinum members. Our room was immaculate and well appointed. Service (esp. the fun waitstaff) was great. We had a ball and hope to return next year for a three-peat.

Our overall experience was 60/40. While the property is lovely and presents well in most areas, it came up short for us in sleep quality and on-site dining satisfaction. We certainly do not discourage other patrons from staying at this property. It is unfortunate that our experience gave us the impression of purposefully shaving the product while simultaneously increasing the price. MISSES: 1) Unbeknownst to us this property does not recognize available upgrades through our gold member status with an on-line booking venue, thus our reserved suite was on a lower floor with view channel of unsightly construction next door. To secure the same room with decent view we needed to pay an up-charge by joining Marriott program. 2) King mattress had deep wide crevices which caused poor sleep quality…it should have been replaced long ago. Perhaps we should have changed rooms but didn’t want the anxiety of wondering if there would be another set of challenges. 3) The Lobby Bar meal was minimal in portion and presentation…we don’t eat huge meals as we are height/weight proportionate. Martinis served in short bar glass half full. This underwhelming experience dampened our enthusiasm in trying the Stoke & Rye even though it appears to be very nice. We chose to dine at the local restaurants and were quite satisfied. HITS: Beautiful contemporary resort with pool, hot tubs, gym, spa, public fireplaces and fire pits, area views. Standard studio suite provides comfortable floor plan, king bed, fireplace, small patio, kitchenette, ample quantity of linens for multi-night stay.

We had a good time at this hotel, and it had everything you need for a beautiful place to explore Beaver Creek & Vail! The on-site ski service is amazing and super convenient, and the hotel has plenty of open spaces for relaxing and socialising with friends & colleagues. Additionally, the outside hot tubs are brilliant and have amazing views of the mountains & surrounding landscape. The ski lift is super convenient for access to the resort and the real definition of "ski-in, ski-out". The rooms were perfect, very spacious and comfortable - mine had a fire which was a really nice touch. A great all-round stay!

We reserved for our daughters birthday. We have made several trips to the Westin and have always enjoyed our visits. From the food, to the rooms, to the service. has always been excellent This time service was lacking. The restaurant was closed so we had to eat in the main common area, with one waiter who was all by himself. Food was absolutely awful. Limited hours for pool service. Housekeeping just ok. I completely understand the staffing shortages, but you could be fair in reflecting the lack of service and amenities in the hotel rates. Why would you still charge outrageous prices for sub par service and experience? It was sad to see how downhill it went. Hopefully as staff increases you will be able to build it back up again

SO... My purpose of being there was to be close to where I was having surgery (in Vail). I was so looking forward to being in a luxurious hotel where I could enjoy the views and have a nurturing place to return to post surgery to start healing and doing Physical therapy. I was told that it was "15 minutes to Vail and my clinic" - which was not the most comfortable way to get there - in a shuttle bus with many steps and cramped seating. Our room (I travelled with one of my dearest lifelong friends who also was my caregiver) was nice enough -one bedroom suite. It had 1 bathroom we shared - again that was OK. However, the room was the furthest (distance wise) room from the front of the hotel ! There would have been no way that I could have walked post surgery the distance. Also while we were there the elevators were down and only 1 was working. Between the large dogs running around and mothers with double-wide strollers - there was absolute craziness ! My special diet was not handled properly - instead of a "Cauliflower steak" they served me STEAK with cauliflower. I basically could not eat for 2 days - not good for pre surgery. (they had heads up too!). That was pretty much the last straw - sealed by getting slammed in the foot by an aggressive mom who said as she got into the elevator " I am coming in no matter what - room or not!" At that point, I had to get another hotel and move to a much better match for the remainder of my trip. I could not take a chance of someone running into me post joint replacement !!! Seems to be the place to be with your large dogs and children - not for a calm environment. Anyway, that was my experience. Hope y'all have a better time!

This was our 10th stay at the hotel. The service was terrible all around. The bartender at the pool was incompetent and unaware. There was bo staff to take drink/food orders, and the bar line was always 10+ people long. The drinks were very bad, and we had to send many back for missing/wrong ingredients (he put orange juice in a bloody mary and no triple sec or simple syrup in a margarita). The service at the lobby bar was no better. The bartender told us she didn’t know how to make basic drinks, and she was rude and unfriendly. We ordered pretzel bites at the lobby bar. The looked like chicken nuggets and tasted like salty biscuits. Our dinner at the hotel’s new restaurant Stoke & Rye was a mess. The wait staff continuously brought the wrong dishes to the wrong table, food was subpar, dishes were delivered entirely out of order (dinner rolls came at the end of the meal, kids finished their mains before I got my salad). We heard several people complaining about issues at the front desk. My husband complained when we checked out and the response he got was “We know.”

Room Tip: Don’t eat at Stoke & Rye. Take your own drinks to the pool (we saw many people that did this)

We live in Colorado and have had our fair share of nice stays at hotels throughout the different mountain towns. This one fell shockingly below our expectations. The service from the start was terrible, from valet to front desk to food. They are extremely short staffed and it has greatly affected the experience. The market has very little options, is missing essentials, and is not open the hours stated online. Starbucks is closed. The new restaurant has no availability. Room service is very limited and food is so so. If you want to eat, plan on walking somewhere else. Location is the only thing this place has going for it right now. Having spent as much as we have, I would have preferred to stay at The Four Seasons in Vail or paid a little more for The Ritz. Will not be back and will definitely not recommend this place to anyone else.

This review is for a March stay. I called and emailed to handle this privately and received no response. The room rate and service/experience absolutely do not match up. I am sympathetic to the labor shortage but highly disappointed my original correspondence was not answered and just overall disappointed in the experience this hotel is offering. I assisted my in-laws with booking an 8-night stay at the Westin Riverfront Resort in March. The total stay was around $14,000 for the 8 nights. They thought the room was nice and comfortable, view lovely, construction not a problem. However, the service experience of the entire stay left a lot to be desired. A few examples.... ~The most egregious shortcoming was the lack of housekeeping. My father in law inquired about this after 3 days of no housekeeping and was told, very matter of factly, "well did you purchase the housekeeping package?" We booked this with an agent using my bonvoy account and no housekeeping package was mentioned. For $14,000 one expects their bed to be made daily, at a minimum. The kitchenette trash was piling up and the lack of housekeeping was very disappointing to my in laws. They only had housekeeping 2 or 3 times for their entire stay. ~The kitchen light didn't work. My father in law made several mentions of this. It was not fixed until halfway through the stay when my father in law happened to see a maintenance man in the hallway and he directly asked for it to be fixed. That day, the maintenance man took care of it. ~The TV did not work correctly the entire stay. They could get a couple channels but it wasn't really working and no one ever fixed it even with numerous requests. ~There was no communication of what was going on at the hotel. One would expect a paper in the room with some general info RE live music, weather, etc. This is common practice. Maybe this information would have been provided on the TV that wasn't functioning properly. There is obviously a breakdown in communication and a lowering of service standards at this hotel. The rate does not reflect that. I believe that if you can't offer the standard of service that is to be expected, you should not charge for it.

Hello Molly C, Hello courtney12340, Thank you for providing feedback from your recent stay at the resort. I regret to read of your overall experience and invite you to reach out to our management team if you would like to discuss further at 970-790-6000. All guests staying at the hotel side of our property receive housekeeping the third day of the stay, followed by every other day. I understand how housekeeping is a basic expectation, however, staffing challenges have required our team to offer more limited services, this being reflected in a lesser nightly room price point from what we would have normally offered in our peak season. This was communicated through our guest pre-arrival letter and upon check-in. This letter also provides all events offered by or through the resort, as well in the local community. We also offer a full sized calendar of events at our front desk or a printed copy by either our front desk or concierge team upon request. Again, we appreciate your feedback.

Visited lobby bar on Saturday evening. We were very disappointed by quality of service. Our espresso martini was served in a small plastic cup and we were charged $18 for it. Really!? Tourist rip off.
