Many travelers are charmed by Villa Pescadores, finding its jungle-adjacent location idyllic and its proximity to pristine beaches a highlight. While some guests consider the pricing to be on par with Tulum's upscale market, the value is often recognized through the attentive service and exclusive amenities like private beach access and cultural experiences. The welcoming atmosphere, replete with live music and unique décor, resonates with guests, as does the cleanliness of the accommodations and grounds. However, a few find the room lighting to be suboptimal.

From the moment I found this small boutique hotel online, I fell in love. We like to travel a lot & whenever we can. We've tried all inclusives, but smaller individualized services we tend to enjoy more. We originally arrived to Playa Aventuras at the Hard Rock Hotel for a wedding. Knowing we were going to be there, we thought we would stay a few extra days after the wedding, about 1 hour south in Tulum.

This was our first time visiting Tulum, and we can now say- we can't wait to come back. From the moment of booking, staff contacted me, letting me know they were available to us should we need anything prior to arrival, such as transportation. By chance, we actually needed transportation from the Hard Rock to VP, and would later need it from VP to Cancun Airport. They arranged this and let me know the prices ahead of time. They booked this for us, so all we had to do was pay upon arrival.

On the pick up day from Hard Rock, our drive was swift and not too much traffic. However, the wedding was the night before, so I wasn't feeling too swell. As we arrived, Jamie & Alejandra greeted us, and asked if it was too early for welcome drinks? Of course we accepted, and they tasted incredible, however, I think this only made my hangover worse. After talking with Jamie & Alejandra, ensuring all arrangements were finalized, Jamie took us to our room (thankfully it was ready, as we arrived about 12pm, normally check in isn't until 3pm). In addition, there are multiple things that this hotel, along with most others in Tulum, do in order to align with ecofriendly measures. (which we love). One of them being hours that the AC stays on. Normally, it is cut on from 6pm-9am, and with special requests. I believe Jamie could tell I wasn't feeling well, and had our AC cut on at arrival. I posted up in our nice little room, and we ordered some room service from the beach club. Fries & tacos..... Delicioso.

The room is equipped with your own water container, filled daily with clean/purified water. Should you need more, all you have to do is ask. The bathrooms also had handmade shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, insect repellent, and lotion! They smelt great and were a nice touch to the room amenities. The toilet is also eco friendly, so it was somewhat difficult to remember to throw your used toilet paper, into the trash instead of the toilet (but ironically by time we got home, we were catching ourselves still doing it hahah).

I must say, this is the cutest, laid back hotel in Tulum. I realized at booking, there are other hotels that are also part of the Ahau collection, where we actually ended up visiting a couple (Ahau & Alaya: more on this below). You can tell they are all sister properties, with each having their own specialty that made them different.

The first night, we had dinner at the beach club restaurant. Moises, was our server and we ended up getting to talk to him throughout the evening. To our surprised, the catch of the day wasn't cut up and filet, it was the whole roasted fish! This is only something we've experience a couple of times, but it was a special part of our stay. That night, we asked about some of the experiences the collection offered. We ended up deciding on the sound healing, and Jamie/Alejandra ensured this was booked for us at Alaya. They also were able to book us a scooter that night, had had it delivered to us the next morning! On the day of the sound healing, we rode the scooter on the main hotel strip from VP to Alaya. This is where the sound healing was set up, which was probably the best place because Alaya is specifically a property that promotes healing/wellness/relaxation. We ended up loving this special experience, and felt great afterwards. If you want more information on it, please ask reception! After the sound healing, we left from Alaya, and went to visit Ahau (which was on the way back towards VP). This was a little more upbeat, but we had the best servers. We had dinner at Le Zebra, which was also good & recommended by the local servers. By time we got back to VP, we stopped by to check in with reception, and ended up staying and talking for awhile with Jesus. He was very nice, and seems to be a sweet soul. We hope to see him again when we return :)

Overall, we want to thank each and every staff at VP, because each made our experience that much better. Every staff member had their own personality, and at the same time remained professional throughout. We enjoy getting to talk to the locals during our trips, and truly is part of why enjoy traveling. I believe the staff at any property can make or break an experience. Here, we weren't treated as a number. They remembered us at lunch, or when they brought our morning coffee (which, btw, is the perfect little touch; even bringing me almond milk to go with it every morning!).

My dream vacation is to sit calmly with the sound of the ocean, laid back, with the perfect margarita in hand. For some reason, it's difficult for me to get the perfect marg, not too sweet, not too sour. I have to take a moment here to just rave about the bartender, Irving. He only knew little english, but boy- did he make my vacation perfect with his margs. I watched him make them a couple of times, but decided I would never be able to make a better marg than Irving & that we would just have to return to VP. He, along with every other staff we encountered (Moises, Jose Luis, Irving, Elias, Andres, Juan, Ivan, Fernando, Angel, Adele,Jorge, Netali, Alejandro, & Angelia), were all very attentive & we're lucky to have met them. If you were by the pool or at the beach, or sitting at the chairs, they would come to greet you and ensure your needs were met. Villa Pescadores, do not change a bit. We will be back! For those who are contemplating on booking this as your next stay, rest assured, you will love it!

My friend and I recently spent 6 nights at Villa Pescadores and to say we had a fabulous time would be an understatement.

I would be remiss if I didn’t start this review off by crediting our fabulous stay to the staff at Villa Pescadores who seamlessly provided us and all other guests with 5 star service. We were greeted upon arrival by Quique who is professional and his attention to detail is immaculate! Victoria, Russel and Joel working in the hotel and beach restaurant always greeted us with a smile and had quick and attentive service. They truly enhanced our experience and always made us feel welcome. The house cleaners were amazing, thorough and so kind! There is also a lot of security guards roaming the property, which made us feel safe. And the landscapers constantly weeding, sifting sand, shaping plants, etc, etc from sun up to sun down, thank you for maintaining so a beautiful and zenful place to be!

Mocshina and Jojo were the resident dogs on the property and we loved every minute they came around. Very calm and sweet dogs living the good life on the beach.

The property is absolutely stunning. The paths around the property are paved by the softest white sand you’ve ever seen or touched. There are tropical trees and plants weaved throughout the property. The beach club, beach and sea are picturesque and to the east you can see the Tulum Ruins. Every room and the entry to the pool has a bucket of water to rinse your feet in before walking onto the deck or into your room. I absolutely loved this touch because while I love the sand, I hate bringing it inside!!

The location of Villa Pescadores is ideal for anyone looking to stay beach front but outside of the hotel zone, which can be chaotic and loud. The hotel is located in the National Park and we were told turtles lay eggs there, so if you’re lucky you may spot a baby turtle! Tulum ruins is a 10-15 minute walk away. You can also walk about 30 mins to the main road in Tulum to take the collective to nearby places such as Akumal and Tulum center.

We stayed in two rooms - the Deluxe garden room with two beds and the suite ocean view king. Both gorgeous, well kept and clean. The deluxe garden room (room 7) was in a newer built bungalow on the lower lever beautifully designed with high floor to ceiling windows. The suite (room 22) was in one of the older bungalows ocean front with a deck and chairs, two hammocks, tons of inside space, seating and double sinks in the bathroom. The bed, bedding and pillows were comfy in both.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you are looking for something romantic or with friends, quiet but close enough to the party, beachfront with a pool, with great staff and service, do yourself a favor and book now!

Gracias a todos 🤍

Worry free from the time of arrival all the way to check out. Our initial driver Luis Ramos Cruz was very accommodating in letting us use the restroom and making pit stops up to the point we arrived. Raquel was helpful every step of the way from renting bikes to restaurant recommendations. Entire staff was welcoming as well. Would definitely stay again!

I have to say that Villa Pescadores was a wonderful place. Let’s start off with all the positives; The staff and service was five stars!!! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating as if you had always known them. Miguel and Eduardo were amazing! And there were a couple others as well and I apologize that I forgot their names.

We had the Premier king with the ocean view which was better than I expected it was semi private had a great space B line directly to the bar and ocean. The room was very comfortable and had that beach feel and vibe to it which was perfect. Just be careful not to leave any food out or you’ll have ants very quickly. Sitting on the porch in the mornings having coffee looking out on the ocean was exactly what We needed.

We got to know Eduardo very quickly and enjoyed drinks (sea moss is outstanding) with him and great conversations and laughs. He also recommended the lobster wish they had just caught that day and introduced us to the chef Paul. We visited the restaurant that night for dinner and I have to say that was the best lobster I’ve ever had in my life!!!

The food at Village pescadoras was number one by far. The breakfast was so amazing beautifully prepared and so tasty I still can’t stop thinking about it weeks later.

Short walk away from the Ruins and we were able to go up and down the beach to other locations.

Only negative, the red sea moss covered the beach and shore. Avoid JulyAugust months when it is bad, Cant go in water during this time.

If you’re looking for a nice little spot with no fuss or frills this quaint little place is where you should go. It’s very close to the Tulum ruins, and a quick taxi ride to the city, feel free to rent a bike from the hotel and go for a ride, it’s pretty safe. We took our girlfriend there to celebrate her 50th birthday and she was very excited and enjoyed her stay very much. Everyone there is very sweet and attentive. The rooms are clean, bathrooms have a little odor at nights, just keep the AC cold, that helps to keep the scent down. Every meal that we ate was very delicious, we tried ceviche for the first time and we enjoyed it. Raquel, had the room decorated with balloons and left a beautiful card on my girlfriends bed, which I thought was a very nice gesture. The beach is beautiful and we enjoyed the boat pool. Eduardo Olazo is king of the jungle. 🤣He made us feel super special every time he saw us, and made sure we were ok. Thank you guys for treating us royally. We will be back. Can’t wait to have coffee between the jungle and the sea again.❤️

My husband and I just got back from a week long stay at Villa Pescadores. It is a beautiful, intimate property where you don't get lost in the shuffle of a big all inclusive resort experience. We tend to shy away from those and look for the boutique experience. The reservation process was pretty easy, even with a mixup where they did not initially charge my credit card. Once i contacted them, it was rectified immediately. We upgraded to the Suite (room 18) and it was worth the investment. You are front and center to the beach and waking up to the beautiful sunrises. Housekeeping was efficient and did a great job. Villa Pescadores is outside of town - closer to two of the best beaches in Tulum. We loved the fact that after dark, the crowds dispersed, no club thumping music and stars for miles. Very quiet and the air conditioning worked great. Front desk staff was very responsive to us for the most part. The servers at the beach club and the restaurant were very accommodating as well. Overall I would highly recommend staying here.

I spent two weeks with my daughter at Villa Pescadores.
I travel a lot and never write reviews, but was so impressed with the care at this hotel, that I decided to do so this time From the moment I booked with Villa Pescadores, they started communication with me to insure my safe arrival. They took care of my transfer, and there was no problem getting there smoothly, even though we were very late meeting our driver. They were quick to communicate with our driver to let him know we were delayed. Front desk calls you family, and treats you as nothing less. I was really amazed at the attention to details where our needs were concerned when we arrived at the hotel. I loved the decor in our room, and it was neat and clean. Front desk was always quick to address any needs we had. I must say that the food was awesome. Lunch was usually on the beach, and there was a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from. Dinner was always a cozy setting in the dining room. Again, I must talk about the attention to detail. From the way your food was presented to the way our room was cleaned daily. Attention to detail seemed to be the theme at Villa Pescadores. When the hurricane came, we were quickly moved to safety until it passed. When we were checking in at the airport to leave, we got a text from them asking if we were ok. I have made some great memories this summer with my daughter, and I want to thank them for that. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Tulum. You will have an amazing experience.

The good - Rooms were super clean, staff was accommodating, food was good and fresh.

The disappointment - per their policy they would tell us in advance which room we got. It would not have mattered much, but we asked specifically to be close to our friends. We were only one place away from the very farthest they could have possibly put us. This wasn’t a huge deal for us but it would have been great if they could have been a little more accommodating.

Day one we asked if there was any issue with us bringing our own beverages on the beach chairs. We are paying for usage with our room. They also allow public to use the beach club as long as they buy drinks and food. They told us it was no issue. Next day a young man came and told us we could not have our own drinks and that the hotel and beach club is separate. This was not what we were told the day before and was not written in their policy. We asked him to have his Manager come speak with us. The Manager never came to speak with us.

We were oddly questioned. Security asked what we were doing on our friends porch and did not let up until I showed him my own room key. Not sure if his issue was that he thought they were sneaking people in the room or what. It was obvious our friends were there and the doors were open. Then we were leaving to go to town for dinner and we got questioned again on where we were going. I thought this was that they thought we should have dinner there?!? Not sure.

The hotel consists of 18 cabins in the national park but on the beach side not jungle side. The cabins are clean and rustic and the staff could not be friendlier and do everything to ensure your stay is enjoyable. You are called Family Surname and they treat you as such. The location is amazing 100m to the most beautiful beach and warm seas. Both the lunch menus and dinner menus are excellent , extensive and the presentation was incredible. Eduardo the food and beverage manager was always on site ensuring quality of food and service. The front desk were extremely helpful and accommodating. It is quieter than the Hotel Zone area of Tulum but if that's what you're looking for the Villa Pescadores is for you .

Relaxing beachfront villas away from the hustle & bustle. Great bang for your buck. Love the chill vibe, great food, & convenience of being able to walk to the ruins (only 10 min easy & safe) & snorkel right off the beach.

No need to pay a middleman for tours when you’re here! The snorkeling is fantastic with tons of sting rays, colorful fish & sea turtles and you can see the mesoamerican reef. Snorkeling & fishing tour operators are just a few steps away on the beach - no need to book in advance.

Currently as of June 2021, Tulum has a ridiculous rule of only 2 guests per taxi & taxi trips can get expensive. I highly recommend getting a rental car (only $85/day) & the hotel lets you park for free. It’s an easy drive to go cenote hopping or into town. I would not recommend driving down beach road into the hotel zone because parking is nearly impossible.

All the staff and very friendly and helpful.

The rooms have a lovely natural vibe & beds so comfy. Love to hear the sounds of all the birds & ocean waves. WiFi in our room worked great.

Upon booking, you can add breakfast for $15/day. I do not recommend this. It limits you to a menu of 3 items. It costs about the same to just order exactly what you want off their breakfast menu.

I recommend this place for friends, couples & nature lovers. It’s not the place for the party crowd or kids.
