Teetotum is a small laid back boutique hotel situated in Tulum, in Mexico's Caribbean Riviera Maya. Because of the design, amenities, and ambiance, Teetotum exists as a unique hotel experience. The modern, sleek space and attention to detail, from the handcrafted bench on your private patio to the fresh squeezed tropical juice at breakfast, create a hip atmosphere of comfort and relaxation. On the road to the beach, Teetotum lies just off Tulum Pueblo's lively main street, and a stones throw from Tulum's magnificent white sand Caribbean beaches.

Teetotum has an cute, eclectic atmosphere complete with plants, fun pops of colour and the lovely dog in residence: Dahli.

The restaurant serves delicious food with an amazing 25 peso taco Tuesday. AND they have a daily happy hour from 5-8pm. It really doesn't get any better than this for value to quality folks! Their house made habanero salsa is so amazing, I am considering asking them to bottle some up for me as a gift. But be warned- it's picante!

They're right on the road to the beach, so whether you're biking or driving, you can park right next to it and fuel up before hitting the waves!

The owner is the sweetest man named Richard and he'll make you feel right at home at his chic little boutique hotel. Make sure you check out the roof spot upstairs and catch some rays before cooling off in the pool.

I can't recommend this spot enough. We'll be back frequently. Maybe even daily!

Large, lush garden courtyard and deck, with plenty of space for social distancing. Great open air restaurant and Mezcal Bar! Spacious, clean rooms. Everything is new! Modern, minimal design. Relaxed, low key atmosphere. Super friendly, helpful staff provides hand sanitizers, public areas are cleaned after use. Best location on the road to the beach and close to town. Free bikes and pool. Best Fish Tacos!

We stayed at a hotel down the road and found oursevles eating at Teetotum most of the time. Lovely staff, great service and great food. Everything is always available (you go tp other restaurants and they say they have run out of items). The food and produce is fresh and so well cooked and presented. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito (should be for two people!) and the tacos - best we had in Tulum! Such a lovely relaxed atmosphere too.

I visited Tulum las week and stayed here at Teetotum, loved the room I took on the second floor, it has a/c. They have a big patio full of plants and hammocks, roof top, free bikes and excellent high speed wifi with comfortable knocks all over. Perfect for digital nomads like myself. Will stay again as they offered 10% off for repeat visits!

We stayed at the Mayan Monkey in Tulum which was a 5 minute walk away from Teetotum and the attached Lola Cafe. We walked to Lola Cafe EVERY DAY for coffee and breakfast. It was SO good. Highly recommend.

We ended up spending a total of five nights at Teetotum due to a change in travel plans caused by Hurricane Zeta. This is a cool little hotel with a great owner and staff. It's conveniently located so you can walk to downtown eating places and shops and it is a quick drive to the beautiful public beach. The room was large, there was plenty of hot water and the AC worked great. The best part of our stay was the people. Richard, the owner, was very helpful and fun to talk to. And the restaurant staff was hardworking and friendly. We were treated to a mini magic show one night by one of the staff. When we checked out to head home I felt like I was leaving family behind! This will be our go to spot whenever we are in Tulum!

This quaint boutique hotel is well located for your Tulum visit. The star rating is appropriate, though some may be way more critical. The staff and proprietor Richard are the best part because they are so warm and helpful. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip. Thank you for the great experience.

This hotel described itself as a "luxury boutique hotel”. ABSOLUTELY FALSE! It was “Economy” at best. We were booked for 4 nights, but left after only 1. There was no water pressure for the shower, and the toilet was disgusting. There was a sewer odor that seeped from the bathroom, and the toilets would not properly flush. The hotel did not even offer hand soap for the sink. The décor of the hotel was nice, but cheaply done (sand paper bed sheets, older towels). We booked all 4 rooms for our family and were looking forward to some privacy and an intimate setting. However, we were extremely disappointed to find the hotel consistently littered by loiters hanging around for the free Wi-Fi, thus making an uncomfortable, non-private environment. The pictures on the website were taken by a great photographer that made this place look great. We were greatly disappointed to see it in person. Teetotum Hotel is not as described. It is only a “luxury boutique hotel” if you are used to staying at cheap Hostels.

The website for this hotel sure gave us a different impression than what we found in reality. Our entire family (8 adults and 4 kids) planned a 4 room 4 night stay in Tulum and we were really looking forward to the hotel that was portrayed on the internet. We had just come from the Barcelo Mayan Palace-which was beautiful-and were looking forward to something more intimate and different-and boy did we get different! The "pool" was about 5'x8' and hardly enough space for the 12 of us. There was no luxury anywhere to be found in the sparse rooms. The toilet and trickle shower shared the same space. The plumbing was such that you had to throw soiled bathroom tissue in the waste basket. The room doors had gaps all around-allowing insects to crawl in. The luxury linens were some well used towels and run of the mill sheets-with some extra pillows that looked like they came off an airline. The free part of breakfast was toast and coffee-you had to pay for the eggs and bacon/sausage.
I had prepaid for 2 nights but we only stayed for one. I was hoping that the owners would offer to refund me the second night-but alas; I had to take the loss. We went to a moderate all inclusive for the remaining 3 nights with a pool for the kids-and were really glad we had. I have staying in many boutique hotels in the US and Europe-and have always enjoyed the attention to detail and the unique atmosphere. The owners seemed nice, but I really think that the website overstates the property-and sets the guests up for disappointment.

We just returned from two full weeks in Tulum/Tankah Bay for our wedding and honeymoon and we chose this hotel based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. It's worth mentioning that we stayed in four different hotels for this trip as we wanted to get a few different types of hotel experiences.
Although Teetotum is lovely, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is oh-so-cool, this just wasn't a great experience for us. The hotel is FAR from the beach but very close to town and even closer to a 7-11. Having chosen Tulum because it is relatively non-commercial, being so close to a U.S. staple was not at all comforting.
We knew we would be "on the road to the beach" but also chose Teetotum because they offered free bikes to ride around town. When we arrived the first day, all of the tires to those free bikes were flat and never repaired over our three night stay so we ended up having to drive around anyway.
The rooms are nice, clean, very hip and well-furnished but just sort of ho-hum. They are exactly as pictured in every shot I've seen so if you are down with the vibe you will certainly be impressed on first glance. Unfortunately, a cockroach flew into our room from our air conditioner on two separate occasions. Not something the owner/staff can really control, but was disturbing for us.
The food is delicious. The drinks are not. The owner is a kick. The staff is very chill (almost too chill, there were times I would have appreciated just a little more "service" like when I was carrying my huge bag to the car in the rain and three staff members passed me.) The design and execution of chill-ness is the best you will find in the area, but just doesn't quite compare to ultra-chic boutique hotels in NY, SF, etc.

hola we often use a local taxi driver who can return you to cancun airport for a reduced rate and we dont take a commission in order to provide the best price to our guests regarding trips from airport to tulum we are not allowed but we urge you to arrange a shuttle with usa transfers, cancun shuttle or tucan kin- look into one way as our taxi man is less costly hope this helps richard

No it's not. A delicious breakfast of fruit, toast, coffee and juice is included in the price. The hotel menu has dishes for dinner that are approximately 180 pesos. You probably wouldn't eat all your meals at this hotel because you'll be out exploring
