We had an amazing vacation at one of the most romantic and exclusive beach front hotels in Mexico. The attention to detail is an experience by itself. The rooms, private pool, and common area are all kept immaculate. The restaurant, room service and concierge are all very responsive and easily accessible via whatsapp texts. The beach area is kept prestine and the ambulatory vendors are kept away. Concierge staff reserved limo service from the airport in advance, assisted in creating a memorable restaurant experienced with decorations and special menue including an award winning photographer. (My girfriend said Yes!) We cannot wait to be back.

Hotel's Favorite
We have vacationed in Tulum the last four years, and this was our second stay at Cabañas Tulum. For people looking for a more chill and relaxing environment, I can think of no better place to stay! The property is immaculate. Our beachfront room was so comfortable, clean and well-appointed. It is amazing to step off your front patio and be right on the beach! The new plunge pools on the beachfront rooms are great additions, allowing us to cool off throughout the day and evening. The beach is simply amazing, and we enjoyed hanging out and reading, soaking up the rays, and listening to the ocean on our beach bed. Antonio from Fresco’s provided excellent service bringing us drinks and food, while we relaxed on the beach. The new pool is quaint and picturesque, and we spent several afternoons pool side escaping the winds from the beach. The hotel also has a new gym, which has some basic equipment- bench press, free weights, treadmill, bikes, and elliptical- which is nice for those looking for a quick workout, as many hotels in Tulum do not have gyms. What sets this hotel apart from others is the exceptional staff. Barbara, Tania, and Antonio are are so very caring and were very attentive to our every need. We are happy to see them year after year (previously we had seen them at the Beach Tulum, Cabaña’s sister hotel). The staff at Fresco’s is also super attentive and friendly. We enjoyed talking with Paula while sitting at the bar. The food is fresh, delicious and differentiated, while the drinks are top-notch as well. We enjoyed breakfasts at both Ziggy’s and Fresco’s, which were amazing! We had a perfect vacation, and we look forward to coming back next year to our home away from home!

We recently stayed in Cabanas Tulum and loved the experience overall! The staff was so nice and helpful from the moment we got there. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and was comfortable and very clean and the staff surprised us with a bottle of champagne and rose petals when we arrived. We especially loved being so close to the beach and having the jacuzzi tub on the roof deck (we used it almost every night of our stay). The service was amazing throughout our stay there, whether we were ordering room service via whatsapp, booking our excursions and tours through the front desk, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make sure we were having a good time. The ladies working the front desk were so helpful and informative and helped us book an awesome cenote tour and recommended we take the bikes out to the ruins, which we loved. The breakfast at both Ziggy's and Fresco's were delicious and I loved starting my morning off with the fresh juices and iced lattes. The property itself was immaculate, with a beautiful pool and an amazing beach with so many areas for us to lounge and relax. Overall, this hotel was beautiful, the rooms were very comfortable, but the customer service here is what really brings it to the next level. 100% would recommend to anyone traveling to Tulum.

See below review from my friend, Kat as well. We stayed in room 122 from Nov 11-17th. Our friends had room 222. We immediately had the hotel change our bedsheets as there were dead bugs in them. There were also a lot of mosquitos and other insects flying around the room so we asked for Raid. They did change the sheets and they did spray the room with insect repellent. So that was good. However, both rooms had money go missing. I locked most of my money in my suitcase and that money was safe. Thank goodness. But i did leave $140ish worth of pesos in a closed toiletries bag. I checked to see it was still there and it seemed ok. But it was only until we were ready to checkout that I noticed someone had taken the larger bills and left only small bills (a couple 50s and a couple 100s which was about $20USD left only). Our friends also had $600USD missing from the LOCKED safe. As per the hotels response on TripAdvisor to my friend Kat: - yes, our friends did have a few (literally 3) additional guests over on the night of Nov 14th. Everyone is on vacation and it was the Saturday of a popular festival. Sorry we were loud. We know those 3 guests very well, and they would never and have never stolen from us before. Let alone from a locked safe. - IF the hotel security actually came to the room 3x to stop the music, we never knew. You tell us to use WhatsApp for everything. You could have sent us a WhatsApp message. - As is standard procedure, we did fill out your forms. I admit, we should have filled them out sooner. We were on vacation for a short time with a packed schedule, and we wanted to submit them together with the general manager of the hotel. * *you cannot press charges against us for ‘public slander’ when we have pictures of us communicating with you on WhatsApp about bed bugs. And also about stolen money with no response. We did select the option to have breakfast included which was either from Ziggys or Frescos. Both are delicious. But for $500 a night, you shouldn’t have to worry about checking your bedsheets consistently or if money will be stolen from your suitcase or safe. And stolen money aside, this place still isn’t worth $500 a night. There are many other hotels here on the beach that are way more luxurious and much nicer rooms.

Dear Guest, We still haven’t received a call from you to come by the hotel to submit a formal police statement. The days you stayed the whole of Tulum had insects; we just had 2 hurricanes and 1 tropical storm. Tulum is jungle, and heavy rains and subsequent heat attract insects and mosquitoes. That is why we provide guests with repellent and clean rooms more than once a day if requested. So they were mosquitoes on a bed, not bed bugs as you say. What you are stating on Trip Advisor is contradicting, opposite to what you told us verbally and signed at the hotel. The report of room 122 you signed and handed in at check out says the missing money was locked in your suitcase, and yet here you declare that the money in your suitcase was safe. So we are at a loss as to what you are referring to. The report of room 222 signed by your friend does not mention that their room safe was broken into, so this is yet another version. The report your friend signed says the cash was in a purse and in the closet, so again you are contradicting yourself. There is no sign of breaking in, both the safe and doors are fine. Unfortunately Trip Advisor does not allows us to upload photos reports, but I am happy to send them to you so you can check they contradict what you publish here. The manager of the hotel waited for you, as per your request, at 11.30 am on the day of your check out. You showed up at 1 pm and left in a hurry. Again, as you are still in Tulum, please come over as we are waiting for you at the hotel so you can press charges with the police, without which nothing can be done. I hope you understand the seriousness of your public statements. You are accusing hard working, honest people of a “theft” you are not even willing to formalize in front of the police. We stayed here during art with me festival last week. Both our rooms our Money was stolen. Our two friends had $600 stolen and we had $100 stolen from our room. They gave us a report to fill out but nothing has been done. They are even ignoring my WhatsApp messages. Also, our room had bedbugs and weird bugs everywhere in the room. For $500/night? This place is a joke. Go elsewhere. I plan to contact the police and inform them of the thievery that happened.

Dear Guest, We are very surprised to read your review here. For many days now we have been asking you, on WhatsApp, to contact us by email to follow up formally. As you are slandering the hotel publicly, we feel it’s necessary to clarify what happened. On the first night of your stay, we had to send our security 3 times to your rooms as late as 4.20 am to ask you to please stop the music, and we found you had invited outside guests to party in your room. The following day, Monday, your friend came to front desk to say 40 usd was missing, then 20 usd. Then another 200 pesos were reported; our front desk staff and security went to the room with you and you found the 200 pesos. You then said it was two 400 pesos notes, which do not even exist. You had people come in and out of your room which we had no control over. As your declarations were very confused and contradictory, in order for us to call the police and submit a report, we asked you and your friend to fill in the forms with every detail of what you were missing and when, as is standard procedure. You refused to do so until your check out 4 days later. As agreed by you, on the day of your check out our Operation Manager was waiting for you at 11.30 to receive the forms, which were handed in and signed quickly, and you left the hotel in a hurry, saying you would be in contact through WhatsApp. We cannot ask for a formal investigation without you on the premises or through WhatsApp. All rooms have a safe, free to use, to keep valuables. It highly recommended you use it, especially if you invite unregistered guests. We are waiting for you at the hotel to submit the formal police statement. Hoping this matter will end soon, we hope it won’t be necessary to press charges against you for public slandering. We did not receive any report of bed bugs during your stay or at check out. When you sent the message, housekeeping came to your room to check and found mosquitoes. We are in the tropics and although we spray regularly, we just had heavy rains then heat so there were more. Housekeeping cleaned your room and left you spray and mosquito repellent. Your Cabañas Tulum Team
