Dear guest, Greetings from The Beach Tulum. We were taken aback to read your review and the list of faults you found in a member of our staff and the way you were treated. I will answer every point in order, based on the Whatsapp exchange you had with our staff and a detailed report. 1) Our beach is 80 metres wide and has 28 beds, apart from each other and none in front of the other. Unfortunately I cannot post any pictures, but they are on our web page. Every beach bed is assigned to its room. The Junior Suites’ private beach beds are closer to the room for privacy, so you do not have other guests in front of your room. But we have a beach boy, Cristobal, who is available to move beds - you requested your bed be moved to the front row, and each morning Cristobal did so, depending on the amount of sun or shade you required. 2) The evening you asked Eloisa if you could extend your stay, you asked to see a Rooftop Jacuzzi as you liked the idea of having an open air jacuzzi. You were shown the room, which you liked. The room you were in was put on hold for you, as you had to check with your husband before confirming either one. The next day you went back to Eloisa and said you might stay for 2 more nights but had to check flights, so Eloisa extended the hold on the room. You asked if there would be a discount and you were told she would have an answer in the morning. Front desk received your confirmation message the following morning but failed to inform the rest of the staff that you were waiting for a price confirmation, so the room you were in was released and sold. When Barbara realized our front desk staff’s mistake, she offered you an extra discount on the other room to apologize for it, but you decided to check out. 3) The next morning, check out day, you messaged front desk at 11.50 saying you had a headache and asked for a late check out at 2 pm. You were offered a late check out at 1 pm, even though check out is at 12 noon, as we needed time to prepare the room for the 3 pm check in, and you confirmed you would be leaving the room at 1 pm. You said you had a headache due to the stress of having to check out, so during your whatsapp chat with Barbara, she offered you another room type where you could stay until 2.30 pm so you could rest, but you did not take up the offer. At 13.04 you messaged front desk that you were still packing and needed 10 to 15 minutes more. At 13.37 you messaged for the bellboy to get your bags and to call a taxi - so in the end you did get the room until approx. 2 pm. If you want, I can forward you your chat so you can double check, in case you deleted the conversation. 4) At 12.30 your husband checked out and asked why we had not confirmed your extended stay in the same room. He was told that you had not wanted to settle the bill until you knew the kind of discount we could offer, and then the room was released by mistake. As an apology for this we told him we did offer you a higher discount on the other room types. Your husband then asked front desk if on your next visit you could get a discount, since you weren’t happy with the service. He was told to email us and we would be happy to do so, and depending on your travel time we could give you a better offer. Apparently, you were looking for a set amount. 5) The reason Barbara came knocking on your door was because you told our bellboy that she was trying to kick you out of the hotel, and she wanted to explain it wasn’t so in person and not through a written chat, as very often there can be misunderstandings. As I said previously, she offered you to use another room so you could rest, even though you decided to leave, at no charge. Barbara is a very guest oriented person with a lot of energy, both in her smile and her voice, usually all our guests love her. I am truly sorry you misinterpreted her attitude; she is never rude and always tries to accommodate all our guest’s requests. Her enthusiasm to be of service was misunderstood. Good morning! Correct, deluxe and junior suites are always filled up and heated in winter. Rooftop jacuzzi are filled up if used and the water is always hot.

Rooms do not have mini fridges. Not sure about pricing/rates. But we had a good deal in November!

A conversation with a staff member told us that the water is crystal clear in November/December period. We couldn’t really go in the water when we went in June. You can email them to make sure. They’re very helpful!
