Bad, bad, bad !!! The team doesn’t seem to like serving people, they have really bad attitude if you call the receptions, in the dining room, cleaners, bartender etc.. looks like that doing big favor to actually do something for you which is their job. Rooms dirty, plate of food was taking from the room and placed outside our room door by the stuff and left there for 3 days. Beach towel hasn’t been given easily, we needed to sign for them. For the amount we payed we expected to be in a place that will makes us enjoying and relax but it was exactly the opposite, in every single aspect they cause anger. We never understood the concept, it’s literally like a self-service place. Better to find other place.
I stayed here for two days with my mother and brother. I found the reception a very welcoming one. beautiful decor and great food. The property is over a long beach overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The amenities are pretty good and the food excellent. I recommend it very strongly.
My family and I really enjoyed our 4 days at the Pavoreal, however there were some negative aspects, such as: - Recreation crew simply ignored us the 4 days when stopping by each guest to invite for whatever they planned for that day. They literally looked the other side when saw the non-Italian people. We felt bad for it. - No activities for child. Not once we saw the kids area open. - No food, fruit, coffee available between lunch and dinner, which is a very negative aspect for family with small kids - The room was small, not very clean, our shower was not working properly and either too hot or too cold. We could hear the guests next door talking like we were in the same room. Luckily there are more positive aspects which would make me come back: - Great external infrastructure - Clean large pools for adults and kids - Beatufiful beach, full of chairs to rest and enjoy the nice view - Great food and nice staff at the restaurant - Close to nice places to visit such as the Archeological Zone, Grand Cenote, Casa Cenote I would recommend as a nice and non-expensive alternative in Tulum area…
I was a bit worried booking this hotel after reading some negative reviews, and from my experience, it's the negative reviews you can trust the most, thankfully not this time! Hotel is so beautiful, room was comfortable, I loved all the different colours of the bungalows, the location is good, you can either take a taxi or walk 5 min to the main road and take a cheap collectivo. Beach is really large, no issued finding a beach chair, you could choose to seat close to the bar with music, but if you wanted a quiet time, you could move further and it was quiet. People were really nice, I am a vegan so I am always struggling to find a food, but people from a restaurant were really helpful and patient, showing me what I can eat. Definitely the place I would love to come back to for longer…
Nice beach resort, good service. Not too big which is nice. Mostly Italian orientated with Italian animation team. Food is ok, lots of choice, fruit, vegetables. Room is pretty with good bathroom. Swimming pool is nice but music far too loud, day and night. Difficult to have a normal conversation. Unfortunately no sea swimming due to sargassum but beach beds are good. Wifi is only accessible in the lobby area and extremely slow. All round wifi access can be bought (MXP 500). Which for this type of resort is of course ridiculous. Overall good 2 day stay, booked online.
One of the best vacation ever! The resort is fantastic: location is crazy (right in front of the sea, I mean, the Caribbean Sea!!), staff is super friendly and food is delicious! We went there was a couple one week in march and couldn't have been happier!!! Highly recommended for every kind of vacation, the structure is well equipped also for little kids. Also, great trips are offered throughout the week (we picked Chichen-Itza, Coba + Cenote and Coco Bongo, all three recommended!) Thank you Pavo Real for this amazing week! You will be missed!
We just got home from a week stay at Pavo Real. We went for relaxation on the beach which we found. The animation team did not pester you to do anything. They greeted us daily on the beach and before dinner. They went out of their way to speak English as the majority of the guests are Italian and that is the primary language used at the resort. We were aware of that at the time of booking, if not it may have made it an uncomfortable vacation if you wanted to drop kids at kids club or participate in activities. We did not and tend to stay to ourselves on vacations. Snorkeling was poor compared to our usual resort we go to. Food at the buffet was excellent, we did not go to the specialty restaurant, 8:30pm is too late to eat for us. We purchased the Platinum kit which I would not buy again as we did not use it enough for the price. The massages were great that Ignacio provided. He was very professional and knew just where the tired muscles were. I do not understand why he does not have a line at his door, it was better than most I have had at high end spa's in Illinois. Extra special thanks to Ignacio, Rafael, Lara, and Humberto for the kindness that made the trip.…
We book an all-inclusive package, the only one available on Expedia when we booked. At the arrival at the hotel at 5 pm we find out The terrace bar was closed open only in the weekend, the pool bar was also closed the only restaurant open at 730 pm. The only place if you want a drink or food was the snack bar, not all the drinks were included only the cheapest brands. Margarita and Pinacolada were undrinkable. The room is small and not well insulated you can hear your neighbors all the time. Wifi in the room is not free, you must pay additional and in the common area doesn't work properly. The beach is made with reclaim sand, was full of seaweed even if they were cleaning. In the water only rocks no sand. At the check out at 12 pm, they sent to the room the fumigation team to be sure we leave at 12. We didn't try dinner, breakfast only lunch. the lunch was a buffet and the food doesn't taste Mexican either Italian. The restaurant should be Italian. The name resort is not appropriate and the price far too high for what they offered. We will never come back. The conditions of the hotel are different from the one advertised. In my opinion, it is a scam made to attract tourists.…
Ignacio is the person who does the massages, he was great and super nice. ask the front desk to book you a great affordable massage with him! it was out side on a deck and you can feel the breeze of the ocean and his massage was just right.
My fiancee and I booked a stay here for 1 week over the New Year period. We planned to use it as a base to get into Tulum (booked the trip very last minute from the UK, and there was practically no hotels available in Tulum center). This hotel was around a 15 min taxi from Tulum. We consider ourselves very well traveled, having stayed in a huge variety of hotel classes, in many different countries. We would never return to this hotel again. As soon as we arrived to reception we heard very loud music and someone yelling on the microphone coming from an open air auditorium just opposite the reception. This music can easily be heard from the bedroom (which had an open air/thatched type of roof). Luckily the music seemed to stop just past 11pm. The next morning we complained about our room, and to be fair, were moved to a better room (with proper concrete roof), further away from the auditorium. The hotel is as all other reviews suggested, full of Italians. Not a problem for us at all, but as an observation it is definitely true. All subsequent entertainment etc (if you have kids) was also in Italian. The food was terrible. The breakfast was basically a huge array of sugary, poor quality cakes, with even worse quality bacon etc. However the fresh omelette stand was not bad. The coffee machine, given the hotel was occupied with 90% Italians, was HORRIBLE! A large industrial looking machine where you can take a coffee with foam cups. The coffee tasted bitter and cheap. Even the hot water for tea (which came from the same coffee machine) was usually tainted with coffee from the filter, and came out a murky color. One day we got back to our room, and the connection door that led to another room had been fully opened! The other room was empty and prepared for a new guest, however all of our stuff (passports, wallets etc) was in our room and could have been taken by anyone who entered into the other empty room! Our safe was also not working (which we fixed right after this with the hotel), and when we complained to the hotel front desk about the connection door that was left wide open, there was not a hint of concern or any apology. Completely unacceptable! On the second to last night in the hotel, the other empty room got occupied with guests, who put on the loud TV at 6am (the door/walls are paper thin). A few minutes later we could smell thick smoke coming from under the poorly fitted door, i imagine they were smoking in the rooms. All of this before sunrise. We checked out one night earlier, and I complained about the smoke to the reception, and that we are leaving earlier and provided all the reasons. The reception girl's only reply to all of this was "OK please I need the 2 room keys back". And that was it. No apology, nothing. We did not expect money back from our last night as we understood its fully paid in advance which is fine, but would have been nice to at least look like she was concerned or cared about our experience. We were too fed up to bother making a scene. We left and stayed on the central beach of Tulum for our last night, which by the way was the same price as Pavo Real, and much better. This hotel is good if you just want to use the hotel beach everyday, and not worry about food by having their all inclusive option. You need to have, to be very honest, not much desire to eat good quality food for the time that you are here, to be a very deep sleeper, and have an extremely high tolerance to rude and inefficient staff. We never met the lovely manager who we noticed had deflected every single negative comment from other reviewers, but we look forward to what excuses he comes up with for our very honest review.…
