Awful bathrooms, sticky floors in all rooms, did change to another room, but just as bad. Restaurant is great and the staff were very sorry about the rooms! If you like to shower don’t stay here.

The beach is beautiful but everything else was a let down. There is no way to lock your door from the inside of your room. There are no outlets in the room. The power went out at night; no ceiling fan. The showers are salt water leaving you sticky and dirty feeling the entire time. There is a busy and... More

We stayed one night. Despite being walk-ins we were not given the highest rate they have on their website (I looked later) - which I appreciate. The beachhut was nice with a view right onto the ocean and the sound of the pounding surf (and the cars as others mention but nothing interrupted our sleep). The bed was comfy and... More

We stayed here for about a week, though looked for other hotels (unsuccessfully) because of the rooms. The GOOD: food was solid, much better or as good as many places within walking distance. staff was very nice, nice private beach w.out too much foot traffic. hammocks outside the room/on the beach were a nice touch. free wi-fi (though spotty). takes... We had a great visit in January 2011. The staff were sweet and helpful, and we dined at least two out of every three meals at the restaurant during our stay, the food was so good. Laura Rodriguez's menu is simple, classic and stocked with fresh, local offerings, as well as a few comforting picks from home (i.e. the Dannyburger... More

We stayed in a garden thatched roof cottage #5. It's set in a coconut grove with views towards the beach. Hammocks on the front porch were great for napping & reading. This hotel is very energy conscious as it is solar powered for the most part - there are no electrical outlets in your cabanas, although if you need to... More

We stayed 3 weeks at Zamas and we loved every single day. Our cabana was romantic and even more perfect that we had thought of. The food was incredible and the staff was very positive and helpfull. The hotel is 5 km from Tulum town, so you can both feel the calm relaxed spirit at Zamas and the everyday life... More

We stayed at Zamas from November 14-29, 2010. Zamas is a little off the beaten path, about an hour and a half from Cancun Airport. You can rent a car or the hotel can arrange a pick-up service from the airport. We were staying for two weeks and knew we didn't want to rent a car for the whole trip,... More

My fiancé and I stayed at be tulum and to work off some of the wonderful dinners and thirst quenching beverages we’d enjoyed in previous days, we decided to walk along the beach. Our destination: Zamas. Our prize: a cocktail or two at their restaurant overlooking the water, watching the sun set. We weren’t wowed by the menu, so decided... More

I can highly recommend a place called Zamas in Tulm if you're looking for a good place to relax next time you are heading to the Yacatan Peninsula in the off-season. It's about 1.5hrs south of Cancun, has good wifi and we were pleasantly surprised to find they also had a cabana with three double beds in it which is... More
