Let’s start with the positive. The grounds and hotel are pretty. The shuttles across this spansive resort are consistent and nice. The higher end restaurants are very good ( make your reservations the day you arrive or you will not get in). They use a falconer on the beach to keep pesky grackles away from the outdoor areas (Vela Sur buffet mostly). My children really liked the kids club, obstacle course and churro place. Kayak and paddle board rentals were nice. The pools are like bath water. I suppose this could be a negative for some. So, the negatives: No pools are ever cool or in the shade until evening. Pool towels are not replenished. If we didn’t get pool towels in the morning, we were not able to get them. Housekeeping was pretty much non existent and hallways are not up-kept. We received stained bedding and towels in our room which was kinda gross. Had to ask multiple times for new bedding. Did not receive new bedding until our third day! Rooms were not cleaned to the Hilton standards we have stateside. An animal got into a room service tray left outside in the hallway and food was scattered all down the hall. Despite putting in a request, no one cleaned this up and there were smeared tomatoes on the floor for days. The buffets and room service food were consistent but nothing special. If you do a buffet only get the items being made specifically for you like the omelettes or personal pasta. Another draw back to this hotel is the persistent low tide smell ocean-side due to the loads seaweed on the beach and then there is the sewage smell on the garden view side. It was intense. The beach area to swim in is cleared of seaweed and smells fine however it is very rocky so wear beach shoes. I would not stay here again.

As far as the service it was an excellent experience. Our room was spacious and overall extremely clean. We stayed at casa 4 first floor. Although we were on the first floor our view was still amazing. We were able to see the ocean. Absolutely gorgeous!! The best part of our trip was the service. All staff was helpful and catered to the max. I highly recommend.

worst resort I have ever been to, do not attempt to even think about staying here. we were warned many times to stay away fro this hotel but we gave it a chance I really regret doing it. First they are short on staff, we talked to different workers and they all said they are really short on staff, that is way you will have slow service everywhere, you will need to complain so they do your room cleaning, there evens seems to be no service at the restaurants, you have to wait hours till someone helps you second the service is terrible, the bellboys are really rude, when we arrive there was this bellboy called arturo (a young looking guy with glasses), and Hector a bald guy, man these two guys are extremly rude and have zero knoledge of costumer service. We even wanted to leave as soon as we arrive because of their attitude, Butler serice isn't any close to be an actual butler service, if you're planning or are told to be upgraded to Enclave just don't do it, it's a rip off, it's not worth it whatsoever. They tell you that they wont clean your room the following day of your check in because of "environmental impact", they wouldn't just clean it because they have no people (and you can guess why no one wants to work at this hotel) room service will take hours to arrive and that is because they have no staff to deliver the food. Workers seem to be really tired and not happy there, that also makes you not want to stay there with this bad vibe. third: we asked to speak to Mr Felix, (the manager of the property) but they refused in a very rude way, instead they wanted us to speak with the "chief concierge" i think his name is Jorge, We asked to do so but he never showed up, they kept telling us that he was busy, but the reality is that they do not even care once you are staying there. the beach is very rocky, i mean there are so many and trust me so many other better places to stay with a great beach, DO NOT come here to waste your time and money, go somewhere else. Also this hotel is very very far from the airport at least 90 minutes to get to the hotel, taxis are soooo expensive to get to the closest town. I write this review not expecting the hotel to contact me but to prevent others from staying here, JUST LISTEN TO THESE ONE STAR REVIEWS

The resort property was very nice, rooms were great with rainfall showerheads, however you had to reserve your dinner reservations in advance for all your nights once you get there and your breakfast Buffet was limited.. way too many families with children running around and the resort is in the middle of nowhere… much different than Cancun where everything is centrally located. Wow the property was beautiful. The pools were way too hot and the beach was horrible to Rocky. He literally had like a 20 foot strip of sand will you could walk into the ocean and even that was Rocky… The property was so spread out. You do a lot of walking. You do have these shuttles that will take you back-and-forth from your building to the main building area where all the restaurants are. I probably wouldn’t go back.

We came with 3 young children including 1 infant as a family vacation. We came here knowing the beach is rocky and might not be as nice. I will review things I did not know before coming. First of all, this is a very nice facility. Also most of the staffs are amazing. Food/restaurants are decent, however if you compare to other 5 star all inclusive hotels, you might be slightly disappointed in some places. So far our favorite restaurants are Lobby bar and Vela restaurant (between Casa 5&6). Amazing staffs and service! Pool area/splash pads/kids club are nice - highly recommend Casa 6 for families with young children. We also like the food truck and mini snack bar close to it. I feel like Hilton needs to have more staffs available throughout the facility. Existing staffs are amazing but it seems like they are over worked. 1. There is only one coffee shop in this big resort, and there is only 1 staff for making coffee & 1 staff for icecream bar. There is almost always people lining up and waiting. It would have been nice if there is a coffee machine close to Casa 5/6. 2. Check in line is very long. When we came to check in around 4pm, our room was not ready and was told to wait for 30-60min. 3. When you ask concierge something, concierge promised things with no action. For example, it was difficult to get room cleaning service on time. On our day 2, our room was not provided cleaning service. Next day, we had to call multiple times to get the cleaning done - we were able to get a quick clean up after 8pm. (When the staff (Roque) came, he was super quick and nice to clean our room.) 4. Dinner reservations - it seems like only time slots available is either 5:30pm or 9pm.

We currently stay at this resort but their service is extremely horrible. (1) Our room has not been provided cleaning service for two days. First day, we just let go. Second day, we called 7am in the morning to book the cleaning service to come. Concierge promised the service at 9am. We came back to the room at 7pm, still not cleaned. It is definitely more frustrating when younger kids need to go to bed early and can’t wait for cleaning to be done so late. (2) when we checked in, our key fobs (4 of them) never worked. We had to visit the reception for three times (back and forth) and still not working. They got one key fob working but the remaining three still not working. Wasted almost 2-3 hours on this (3) we made dinner reservations but it all got mixed up. We went to the one we thought we made a reservation but the system said we had a reservation at the other restaurant. I feel like this facility is nice but maybe Hilton needs to have more staffs available. There’s only one coffee shop here, and they have only one staff making coffee at a time - so always expect to be in a line waiting for your coffee. Overall, it is extremely frustrating as we expected to have a nice family vacation (celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary and our daughter’s 1st birthday). Extremely disappointed.

SHAME ON HILTON !!! I am a diamond member, and have been staying at Hilton all around but this his was the most horrible experience. Food below average Service:: they didn’t clean the room till 10 pm. to get our room clean I had to call them at least 10 times between 3pm and 10 pm. And even when they did clean it, all did it was made the bed. Be aware of the time I’ll check out. They will definitely try to add more money to your bill and scam you. It’s a rip off!!!! Shame on Hilton

Not impressed at all. No variety of food at the buffet. You would think at a resort in Mexico they would have chefs grilling fish but there was no fish. Service was terrible. If you don’t tip, the waiters take forever to come by. The entertainment staff was very scarce during the day. With the exception of water aerobics there was not much entertainment. The entertainment at night was not organized or well thought of. We were in back in our hotel room by 9:00 pm. Our rooms were not cleaned every day either.

Hotel itself was nice. View was great but the beach was extremely rocky. Food in the main buffet was not as big as most of the resorts and was mediocre. Mexican, Italian and Japanese were 3.5 out of 5. Alcohol was watered down. Why I really wanted to comment was about the entertainment. It is great for children but my 22 and 26-year-olds were bored out of their minds. If you are in this age range, I suggest going to Playa del Carmen for your stay. Tulum is to relax but not for a younger crowd. Also, good luck trying to get good customer service from Hilton. It isn't what it use to be. Lastly and a tip, save yourself the $60 to go downtown (which is not that great) and take "la combi" (which you catch across the road) for 40 (don't pay more than 50) pesos each.

We made the mistake of not staying at our usual Marriot hotel chain. But Amex platinum gave me gold Hilton status, so I thought I’d give it a go. Travelling with two small kids. Our check in was meant to be 3pm. Didn’t get a room till 5:30pm. They kept telling me from 2pm that room was being prepared and cleaned. Just constant excuses. I eventually had to go to reception and complain to get our room. No apology was ever made. Our bags took a further 2 hours to get to room. Again constant excuses. “Will be a few minutes” but I had to go to reception to get them myself. Food hygiene and safety was the main issue. Barmen were sweating from their faces. Standing over the ice bin and dripping sweat into the ice. Dirty fingers on cut limes etc. Dirty blue gloves touching every surface then touching bread or plates and food. You would hand a cook your plate and it would come back to you all greasy and dirty. At the pasta station at lunch, the cook used the same cloth from wiping the table, the same cloth he used to hold the hot pan, he used the same cloth to wipe some sauce off the side of my plate. Absolutely disgusting. This was probably one of the many reasons why my wife and 5yo daughter were deathly sick with fever and food poisoning for 4 days. (They are still sick here back at home) My daughter had to be taken to the emergency room for treatment. Costing me over USD$500!!! Again. No apology or help from the hotel. We even requested that we get access to the Enclave lounge for a few days so that they could eat there. Because we were so scared of the food safety. We didn’t even want to upgrade or change rooms. Just wanted them to eat somewhere a bit “safer” than the usual buffet. But they couldn’t even accommodate such a simple request. Overall. This place needs new management. They can’t handle any type of crowd or capacity at the hotel. Food was below average. Steak house doesn’t know how to cook a steak. It was like someone boiled it. No crust on the steak. It was beige and bland. On two occasions our clean room sign was put on the door at 8am. And at 7pm the room was still not cleaned. We had to wait till at least noon the next day to get cleaned and receive dry towels etc. One time they ran out of large bath towels and we were simply told to use the small face towels to dry ourselves after a shower. The chamber maid came to our room and used her miming skills to act out how we can use a small towel on our bodies. It was pure comedy. The only amazing thing about the place was the team at the Kids Club. They were incredible. We loved them and they genuinely loved their jobs and playing with all the kids. They deserve a raise. Anyway. 9 nights in this hell hole and we are glad to be home. I would stay well away until they re-train everyone. This is my first even review of any hotel because I couldn’t let this one slide. Everyday was hell. Go with Marriot. I’ve never had anything close to this type of disaster staying at a Marriot chain.
