Pros and Cons on this newer green infused Airbnb style hotel. The layout of the rooms and hotel area are incredible. Plently of lush greenery to invite you into an idea of serene jungle paradise. The restraunt is nice with good food also. I stayed in one of the rooftop rooms with a private pool which was beautiful. I love the smell of the copal resin throughout the property. There are two pools which close at 9pm. So no need to worry about community noises from the pool area at night. For COVID testing at check-in, I mentioned the day I would need a test, and the front desk associate advised to a time the doctor would be on-site to administer my test. The doctor came to my room on time, and I had my results same day. Results were sent to my email and also via Whatsapp. My cons were: There was no iron or ironing board in the room. After readimg a few reviews prior to my stay, I decided to bring my own. Maybe you can ask the front desk, but I didnt bother. The room walls are really thin, and my room had an adjoining door to the next room and I heard everything. Luckily after going down to the front desk and complaining my neighbor kept the noise down. You'll have to either go to the front desk for everything or contact them via whatsapp. There are no in room phones to request service of any kind. There were only 4 Netflix accounts, so during a certain time of day you may not be able to access it. I used my own account with screen mirroring from my phone. This wasn't a total deal breaker, but worth mentioning.

We have fallen in love with this place since the beginning, the kindness of the guys frontdesk, the magical garden and the beautiful sense of peace. They have a special spot on the roof, with infinity pool and an open bar where they play music by night , wow..delicious drinks with authentic mezcal . Thanks Claudia, our super host !

Copal tulum was beautiful hotel! It looks exactly like the photos and maybe even better. We stayed 2 night during our honeymoon and got a free upgrade. It was the penthouse 2 bedroom, with a full kitchen, 2 full bathroom and an extra toilet near the living room. So glad we got the upgrade. It came with a private rooftop pool. Really glad we had the rooftop pool because we originally booked a ground floor pool and it wasn’t as nice or very private. There was an ac unit in every room and a tv in the living room and in the bedroom. The walls were kinda thin walking up the stairs, we could hear to people next door blasting music at 7am, but we couldn’t hear them from the bedroom. I used the gym one morning. It was small, but had everything I needed for a short work out. We didn’t use the infinity pool or check out the restaurant though. The only thing I wished they had was a full length mirror, other than that, the hotel was perfect. Thank you! We definitely will return, probably with a group of friends. Absolutely would recommend to anyone going to Tulum.

Overall the rooms (buildings) were poorly designed and we couldn't wait to leave. Others seemed to have similar issues with their rooms while we were there. The "Hotel" is more like a managed AirBNB style setup in a newish "fancy" designed residential building. It is in a new residential estate with a lot of vacant land around and construction going on. It is about a 10 min drive to the beach or double that on a bike. Same again into Tulum town. Firstly, when you walk into the rooms for the first time you'll notice a distinct mouldy/musty smell straight away and it doesn't leave. I think it is indicative of a lack of ventilation; lack of cleaning of the aircon units and poorly designed rain showers, with water going everyone. They had a rooftop pool in the same building so it may have had some major leak in the past. The one window in the room (bathroom) didn't have a fly screen so if you leave it open for some fresh air, you'll be joined by a few mosquitos. Secondly, lots of noise. The connecting room doors are not well insulated so you get to hear everything going on next door and the music around the pool started early, so you dont come here for peace and quiet. The rooms all face into the internal courtyard with the pool in the centre, so you get to hear everything. Probably more of a cheap party style of hotel. The experience was in contrast to the "Quiet Zone" signs around the place. Thirdly, the onsite restaurant was terrible and we couldn't wait to leave. Don't go there if you haven't been vaccinated. Its been a long time since I've seen people smoking at a table in a restaurant, bar staff mixing drinks without a mask and no social distancing there. The tables were maybe 80cm apart and everyone was jammed in. The Cenote at the back of the hotel, is certainly nothing to wish for. It is on public land, wasn't big, it was crowded and after one look we did a u turn back to to the "hotel". If you want to try a couple of nice Cenotes in the area - Dos Ojos and the Gran Cenote were both about a ten min drive away. The TV in the room seemed like it wasn't connected to any outside channels, only the hotels marketing channels. The internet wasn't good enough for working from "home" arrangements. If you havent been to Tulum before, I'd go somewhere else, either one of the large resorts to the north or one of the smaller hotels down at Tulum beach. If you're looking for a cheap party (and a dose of COVID) - this is the place for you. The one star is for the front desk staff, who were doing an admirable job to deal with the complaints. Well done to them.

Eco-chic accommodations with good wi-fi for working abroad. Great amenities including the pools and restaurants. The only slight would be the gym which is pretty small but there are solid gyms within walking distance. The highlight of it all is the service led by Yolennys (aka Yoli) ... She is one of the main reason's why I am booking again for a week in July... Gracias Yoli!!!
