Azucar is the most heartwarming beautiful place to live in when you´re in Tulum <3 The team that works there Alejandro in reception together with Martha, Roberto and Mario are fantastic people seeing to your every need and they are so friendly and professional. The beach in front of the cabanas is the most looked after of all the beachfronts...

We spent 5 nights in the Azucar Hotel early February 2015. It was wonderful to be in such a great position on this beautiful coastline. We loved that it was rustic but meticulously cleaned each day with the best quality bath towels. We had the upstairs room- perfect for my family of 4.We loved that it isn't a very big...

We spent part of spring break at Azucar Hotel, I always wanted to stay in a thatched cabana on the beach, and they delivered! The cabana was rustic, very clean, had everything we needed, Alejandro, the manager, was so friendly and helpful, excellent english, french as well, and a super nice guy. The beach is clean, not crowded, unspoiled! You...

I don´t understand complaints about staff - Alex is very friendly, helpful and attentive as other personnel. Azucar has cleaner beach, than more expensive resorts nearby. We stayed in garden cabana, generator worked, but was not so disturbing as posted. Would recommend this hotel.

Nice bungalow, really friendly staff, but the hotel next door has a diesel generator running the whole night, which is as loud as a truck right next to the bed and makes sleeping almost impossible. Don't book the "garden view" as long as you are not hearing impaired. The toilet flush was working only intermediatly.

I spend a week in this little hotel with my wife and our 3 kids (age 9,7 and 5) .. we are very happy with it. it was clean and small (meaning never crowded). Alejandro at the front reception was always helpful and he speaks good English. the deluxe cabana we rented is the biggest they have and was perfect...

Having read some of the other reviews, I too was anxious to find out what awaited us at Azucar. The impression one gets is that you either end up with a pleasant stay or some shambolic "Fawlty Towers" experience! But I am delighted to say that we had an ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC 4 nights stay at Azucar in the Lunamielera cabin!...

My review cannot clash more strongly with some of the recent negative postings of Azucar. Having twice stayed at Azucar, the praiseworthy attention of the people operating Azucar (with special recognition of Alejandro in reception, Martha with room cleaning, and Monica in scheduling) is exceeded only by the iconic view of the Caribbean from the hammock swing of the Lunamielera...

I visited Tulum a few years back and after travelling since then, no matter where I go I still always compare it to Tulum. It was such a beautiful experience. The bungalows were perfect they had an awesome balcony facing the most amazing white sand and blue water. I don't advise staying any longer than 4 nights within your travels...
