Casa Amor Del Sol is a hidden gem on a quiet beach road about 10 minutes from the main town of Tulum. The house is situated across from the beach, in a beautifully manicured jungle setting. Our room was tastefully decorated with local textiles and art, had a fridge, satellite tv, and cd player with a large library of cds. Whether lounging by the pool, upstairs in the jacuzzi or on your private terrace, there are towels for your use and lots of places to relax. Flora and fauna abound, and being a bird watcher, I spent a lot of time outside photographing birds. The real highlight is the lovingly prepared, lavish breakfasts that Diane the proprietress will make for you every day. From the table linens to the flowers and herbs picked from her garden, every detail is meant to please the eye. Her passion for cooking comes through with every bite of her creations, artful fruit trays followed by delicious quiche, waffles, crepes -no two days are the same. Freshly baked breads and goodies will delight you. We took a few pieces of almond cake home on the plane, it was a treat! Definitely rent a car so you can follow Diane’s suggestions for outings such as the Coba ruins, a much cooler setting than Tulum because of the jungle setting. And Caleta Tankah, a wonderful beach club with lounge chairs food & drink plus a fresh water caleta that creates a clean lagoon on the ocean for swimming & snorkeling. We went there twice because it was so nice. We hope to return to this paradise! Thanks Diane💗

We returned this year for 11 days at Diane/Phils wonderful B&B. Totally want to reaffirm our 5 star review - this remains a beautiful, relaxing gem. Diane made delicious and very filling breakfasts. (We never had same thing twice - see photo collage of most of the main dishes.) Colorful table setting and always served on a wide variety of her beautiful Mexican / Telavera dishes (we liked so much that she pointed us to the best Tulum family store where her name was enough to obtain a discount). The folk art and decoration thru-out the rooms and house are truly beautiful and everything is super clean and very comfortable king bed. We've been coming to the Cancun/Tulum area for 15 years and now use Casa Amor del Sol to avoid the big crowds and resort like crunch. Diane has a wealth of information of information pointing us to local beaches and Beach Clubs as well as new restaurants in the area. She also arranged for our massage(s) at the house - which we set up on the patio by the pool in the back - amazing afternoon breezes thru the palms. (Big note - Diane does not take a commission to do this so the cost is even less) Some real pluses staying here - We feel like Casa Amor del Sol is our home - with private entrance and room patios and shared rooftop, hot tub, porches, pool and patio (although no one was really around so it was like having it all to ourselves). Another plus is nearby walk-to-restaurants - we didn't even have to drive out half the days. Some considerations - I would recommend having a car if you intend on getting out of Tankah Bay area during the day. We love the privacy and no crowds 80% of the time, but when you do want to get out for beach clubs or touring or do a shopping/supermarket run you probably want the flexibility of a car. BTW - Diane has beach chairs, coolers, boards and picnic supplies to use as needed. You are not directly on the beach - but a 1 minute walk across the road. You can see/hear the beach from the rooftop (which is a wonderful for daytime sunning/shade and happy hour sunset place) - and always a steady refreshing breeze. This is a true B&B with only 2 rooms - it is not a resort type experience - so if comfort, peacefulness, amazing food and relaxation are key for you - this is a fabulous stay.

Spent two nights here. Pretty avid TA reader and I have found that when you see a near perfect rating on a place that has a substantial number of reviews you can take that to the bank. Easy decision to stay here given the past reviews and the fact that the current cost is in line. If you are looking for a very quiet and relaxing base for exploring the area this is it. Do yourself a favor though and come here in a rental car; I can't imagine not having one. This is a B and B in the traditional sense so you are pretty much on your own after breakfast and room cleaning. Rooftop area alone is worth the stay. Breakfast was different each of two days we were there. Diana and Phil are great of course as everyone else has mentioned. In the interest of not just repeating everyone else, I will try and mention the only possible negatives I can think of : There are some stairs to deal with and no luggage assistance really so you need to be able to handle your own luggage generally speaking. The pool fountain is currently broken and may take a while to fix. The pool is on a once a week cleaning cycle and we caught it on the last day and it was actually too messy for us to use; twice a week might be a better plan. Would definitely stay here again. Feel fee to private message me with any questions.

Stayed for 5 wonderful days. Diane and Phil have created a paradise in paradise and are great hosts. It is a 10-15 minute drive from the center of Tulum, about 300 pesos. This house was built 10 years ago to be a BnB, with just 2 guest rooms, pool, front and back porches and a hot tub on the roof, overlooking the ocean. It is across the street from a nice beach but you do need water shoes(provided) since the ocean floor is a bit rocky. Watching the sun set, or star gazing from the beds on the roof are very romantic. There are 5 very good restaurants in walking distance - no more than 15 minutes for the farthest. Cabs are available (no Uber) but I f you want to do lots of site seeing or hit nightclubs in Tulum at night you might want to rent a car. Diane is a gourmet cook so the breakfasts are wonderful, you only need 2 meals a day.

My Husband and I stayed at this B&B while on our honeymoon for a few nights in October. After staying in the city of Tulum last year amongst the hustle and bustle we chose this quaint little hideaway not too far from Tulum. We absolutely enjoyed every bit of our stay here! Diane was always there to answer any questions we had and made the best breakfast and even changed up the table settings each morning. We really enjoyed hearing her stories about how they ended up in Tankah and where they've been to. There dog Feebee was very friendly as well which reminded us of our dog staying back home. We got lucky in that we had the whole upstairs to ourselves since no one had rented the other room. It was also nice to go up on the rooftop in the evenings and relax in the Jacuzzi and watch the sunset go down. While staying there we rented a car to visit Tulum and take a trip to Xcaret during the Dia de los muertos which was really interesting to see and learn about the culture more.Diane and Phil run an excellent business and were such great hosts. I would definitely recommend this place to others and hope to return again.
