El Pez evokes the feeling of a private villa on the beach, with all the amenities of a small boutique hotel. Featuring six Luxury Cabanas, four Sea Front King Rooms and Two Sea View King Rooms, suitable for solo travelers, couples and families, El Pez is situated at picturesque Turtle Cove, where the Mayan fisherman and pelicans create a visually stunning seascape from the hotel balconies and around the hotel grounds. The setting is both intimate and romantic and a stunning backdrop for family gatherings & romantic getaways.

Let’s start with the warm welcome of dear Gil, he and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was decorated very well and had everything that we needed. Close to everything. Until next time :)

Hotel's Favorite
This treasure is just what I wanted to celebrate a wedding anniversary and birthday. Large beautiful and tranquil room just steps from the beach: we literally opened the door and walked to the chaise lounges with umbrellas where we stayed all day. I could not have asked for more. Delicious juice concoctions available along with other goodies on the menu. Service was superb and it was easy to either have dinner on site or close by. This place is for those of you looking for a quieter, more peaceful experience in the Colibri family. I would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommended!! .

By far the best, most relaxing place to stay in Tulum. The seaweed was unfortunate, but they did their best to clean it t everyday. They were very attentive, very polite and the food was delicious. Peaceful

This is potentially a very nice place, nice location and most of the employees are good. However there are serious issues that lead me say that as an owner of a boutique hotel, the manager should be fired. The issues: A) Maintenance 1) Ut was raining and for the price you pay you would expect that you will not face small lakes in the room after a heavy rain. 2) Doors run not very well, so if you want to keep doors open with the mosquito net, you need a lot of efforts to make sure that you are able to close. B) Sargassum See attached photo. Yes it is not the fault of the owners that nature brings that unpleasant present to your doorstep. However it depends on the actitud of the management what you do about it. El Pez actitud: ignore it! Not explain, minimal efforts with mostly one person cleaning the beach. Definition of sisyphus could not be better. In our hotel we would provide some courtesies or try to please the guests in other way... C) Flexibility policy: ZERO One of the 8 days we were there my wife had a stomach issue and just asked for chicken with some potatoes. Policy of the owners: charge for the potatos as the chicken usually does not come with potatoes. D) Employee face mask: In covid times a requierment for the staff should be face masks all the time covering mouth and nose. Well management does not enforce this as often the facemast is covering if anything a bit the mouth leaving the protection to zero. Kitchen people do not wear facemask. In Peru, where our hotel is, the authorities would close the hotel for this. I see that this is Tulum and you pay for the location, but honestly next time will definitively not stay at this place. A pity, lot of potential with the right maintenance and management atitude.

To sum this place up in one word: BLISS My boyfriend and I stayed at El Pez for 6 nights and loved every moment of it. The staff is SO nice and accommodating. We stayed in the beachfront superior suite and boy was it incredible. Arturo up at the concierge desk helped us out so much and always asked what our plans for that day were and how they could help. David, one of the bartenders, was so fun and had great conversations with us. As much as we loved everyone there, Armando one of the servers was our favorite. He was so nice and excited to see us come around just as much as we were to see him. We were not only sad to leave that beautiful place but sad to leave the people we met and bonded with who worked there! I have recommended this outstanding place to probably 8-10 people since I’ve been back. I hope Arturo, David and Armando see this! We miss you guys -Hannah and Daniel
