We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights, which is far too long for this type of hotel. The positives for the hotel are that it's clean; the bed is fairly comfortable; the rooms are a nice size; and, it is close and walking distance to the downtown area. The front desk and housekeeping staff are very helpful and friendly!! The disadvantages of this hotel are that it is in a very NOISY area; there is no food service or restaurant on premises; the pool is small and not ideally designed for relaxing comfort (which will cause you to stay out of the hotel for the day); the rooms don't have an electric tea pot; and, the hotel didn't provide water, tea or coffee!! The street noise is very loud, and in Saturday night there was a club/restaurant close by that had very loud music that went on until after 12 a.m. Finally, I would recommend to the hotel group that they install wash lines in the showers, particularly given that Tulum is a beach resort community!! Not a bad stay, just not ideal for a long-term stay!!…
The positive: - location of me the main crowd and road (see later on the negative what undermines that) yet still walking distance - Spacious nicely designed room - More or less clean from what we can tell - Free bicycles (that are not maintained but did their job. Mine had a defective break. Just go slow...) - Staff Negative: - Noisy. We had room 302 which is directly under the breakfast terrace and every morning early someone up there moves chairs and prepares and it’s impossible to sleep. Free alarm clock. - Party music. Just close to the hotel there is an event place that can be hired and last night there was a wedding. Cool for them. But impossible to sleep with their super loud music. It was just the night from Saturday to Sunday (we stayed 3 nights). In combination with the point above sleeping is only possible with ear plugs. Windows dint isolate well in Mexico. - Pool does not really invite as you are on display more than what is ok - Breakfast choice super limited. - Slippery floors. Design is nice. But a little water and it’s like ice skating. That’s dangerous. And other hotels do that better - No gym - One day we had a lot of rain. There is nothing you can do in the hotel in a tee as big day. It’s small and has not even a little coffee etc - cleaning staff in the morning are noisy early - some other guests have not heard about the fact that door handles can also be used to close doors. No need smashing them. - The police in Tulum was really aggressive. We witnessed them patrolling all day long when we were in town and go after everything. We saw them twice settling for cash and a couple of give me fives. We travelled a lot in Yucatán and only seen that here. Disturbing and they lack pride. Not the hotels fault. And only a problem if you have a car. The biggest disappointment we have is pricing. We booked this hotel in advanced and upon arrival saw their current price list in the lobby a realised that we had paid more than 2 times that rate. We booked via hotels.com. We understand that prices can vary given demand. But the hotel is not worth the amount we paid and we feel naive and stupid and hoped to be better protected especially having booked via the platform. We would come back to this hotel but not for that price we paid nor room 302 with the roof noise (well - we normally don’t come back to the same place anyway but if we would). Our case is still pending with the agent. We hope for a fair resolution. My rating would not change irrespective given the many negative points of which many can be improved for a future visit and other guests. …
Very clean, well designed and as a solo female traveler I felt safe at all times. The hotel staff were so friendly and patient with me as I was quite indecisive with booking a tour and was quite late for my airport shuttle (oops!). Thank you Rosy- you are the best! The location is just off the main street so it can be a little dark at times if you are by yourself but didn't feel unsafe at all. They offer free bike rentals so if you use this during the day and at night it feels much safer going back to the hotel if you are solo. The breakfast incl, tea/coffee/juice, fresh fruits, toast, cereal, some meats+cheeses and a selection of hot foods that they change up each day. As a gluten/lactose intolerant traveler I had no issues with their selection. Usually the hot food includes some variation of eggs/vegetables/beans and this was very filling. There is a water cooler in the reception so you can fill up your bottle which is very convenient as it is not recommended to drink tap water. The power/water did go out on my last morning there which was a bit inconvenient but it's not out of the ordinary for something like that to happen. The staff were very accommodating and offered to taxi people to their affiliated hotel (Zenses) if they wanted to shower/clean up. The power/water was back on within a few hours. Room (ground floor opening up to pool) was very clean, spacious with a locker, hanging shelf for clothes, luggage rack, desk and complimentary bottled water (x2). The bathroom was clean and spacious too with small toiletries provided (shampoo/conditioner/body wash/bar soap). Overall a great experience, i would definitely stay here again!…
Great small hotel within walking distance of the downtown area. Bikes provided if you want to cycle to the beach or the Tulum site. Rooms are big, well appointed and clean. Shower had the best water pressure we experienced in mexico. Pool is on the chilly side, but perfectly fine for taking a quick dip after a hot day in the sun. Staff was very courteous. Breakfast was at the roof, basic but adequate.
We only stayed 3 nights but we loved this pretty hotel. Super clean and very well put together! Staff were friendly and helpful! Pool closed early which was the only disappointment. Close to town and shops. Very quiet as well. Nice breakfast included.
