Great staff, good food, but here's what shut down: no daycare, no kids pirate buffet, no casino, no sports bar. only 1 buffet is open, platinum side is completley closed, only gift shop is 1 on beach, no ice cream shop, outdoor night shows are held outside. Here's what's good: outside street taco grill, beach bar, beach food stand, outdoor shows, steak house, Italian restaurant, all staff, clean grounds, beach girl employees(they play with your kids doing activities while you hangout on beach, beach volleyball..overall still best beach resort and great place to get away.

Decided to book here because we wanted a 5 star relaxing holiday. We knew the hotel would only be partially open due to the Covid situation and of course it had been also hit with recent hurricanes that had caused a lot of damage. Whilst the number of guests were limited we found the hotel to be Party Central with many Mexican visitors who were taking advantage of special offers and staying up until the early hours and keeping us and many other people awake as all the guests were roomed in one area of the hotel. We had to change rooms several times and despite asking for a quiet room it wasn't until the last night of our stay that they eventually moved us to a quiet part of the hotel. Security at this hotel is non existent and when we complained to the senior management we were informed that they couldn't do anything about the guests who had come here to party! If you don't mind noise through the night this is the place for you unless you have young children who need their sleep!!

My second time at this resort. Just back from 2 weeks (Nov 1st to 15, 2020) of great vacation, just after Zeta had hit and getting the remaining rain of ETA. So the first week was rain, wind and beach closed for swimming. The hotel had a 10% occupation, with area completely closed for repairs and clean up. Things improved a lot for our second week. The main buffets were also closed, only some of the restaurants were available. We knew this coming in, so this was not a surprise. Yet the staff was fantastic, making sure we had everything we needed, really concerned about our well being and making us as comfortable as possible. Excursions to Tulum and Xcaret (you MUST do Xcaret with VIP supper / show) were really worth it. Covid Safety? Mask for all the staff at all times and by most of the guests; hands and shoes disinfectant everywhere, even disinfected the shuttle tires when they enter the resort. We really appreciated all the efforts and personal touch of so many of the staff, but I have to specially thank Roberto Madrigal for the great care and attention we got. Muchas gracias, amigo. ;-) We shall return ... !

After experiencing diminishing guest services at a major luxury resort in Cancun, we decided to try this resort and we were not disappointed. Quality guest services is an integral part of the culture at this resort. The totality of amenities and focus on guest services make it a great tropical beach getaway to unwind and recharge. It’s a large beautiful resort that offers boundless allure for guests. The picturesque entrance opens to an expansive lobby and plaza that includes a multitude of shops, specialty restaurants, a large entertainment venue, as well as a labyrinth of guest suites with interlocking pools nestled among carefully manicured landscapes, and beachfront offering a myriad of activities. From the moment we arrived, we found the entire staff from the valet, concierge and front desk, to housekeeping personnel, restaurant hostesses, waiters and waitresses uniquely courteous and hospitable. My husband and I stayed in a Junior Deluxe Suite, which was sumptuously comfortable, spacious, quiet and clean with ample seating, and nice bathroom amenities. It was located steps away from the nearest restaurant and pool, and a short walk to both the plaza and beach. The walkability of the resort is amazingly pleasant. Finally, we’d like to recognize Claudia, Javier and Eddy, of the Concierge Desk, whose attention to quality customer service ranks among the highest we’ve ever encountered at other top resorts. Thank you for going out of your way to make us feel very special.

Before I go into details, I don’t normally write reviews. I stayed in the resort before so I was a returning guest family of 5. The resort is only open on one side as the SUNSET side is closed and no activity areas are open. There are 2 bars open for drinks. People are still always wonderful and I love Mexican folks. I can’t stress enough when I say I get the whole shutting down of the resort as there under capacity and cautious with Corona but there is no excuse for negligence! I just arrived today and have 5 days to go. I was expecting something much nicer than what I am currently seeing. They told me the hotel is only booked to 10% so there’s not many people here. I booked two rooms in the platinum section of the Resort. Three days before I arrive I got an email stating that the platinum is not open and that they were moving me to a nicer room which had access directly to the pool. I was OK with the idea giving the whole corona situation. As we are walking around the grounds I see lots of damage and debris all over. I am assuming this is from the hurricane that just past but not sure why they haven’t cleaned it. We get to the room and my kids wanna go swimming so we open up the back glass doors to enter into the pool but it’s full of debris, the filters aren’t even on (in any pool) and it smells like donkey. There is a brown line around the pool as it’s the water mark from it sitting. I’m actually more afraid of a bacteria infection at this point then catching Corona virus. So as we are all laying in bed I look up and see two hand prints followed by chest prints on the wood head board above the bed. The light hit this just right so I was able to see the greasy residue left from those before me that had some fun in the same bed. I called the resort to complain and they said someone would be by to speak with me but after 4 calls back and waiting 2 hrs, no one showed up. Later that night at dinner I get a visit from the manager of the hotel. I addressed my concerns with him and he assured me someone will be out in the morning to clean the pool. I woke up at 07:00 to find the pool in the same condition as last night with no one cleaning it. I don’t expect to see anyone working on it today as I don’t see many workers here. No grounds keepers or maintenance workers. FYI, if you are concerned about the mask policy, there is none. The workers are mandated to wear them at all times. Customers do not but are recommended to wear them while not eating, drinking or swimming. I would say about 10% of the guests are wearing masks. Bottom line here, I would not travel at this time to this hotel or any others due to many government restrictions keeping them from operating. I was expecting much more then this and knew it would not be operating at 100%. I work for a major airline and have been to 13 countries and many hotels around the world. I know a little about the expectations one should have while staying in hotels around the world.
