Mal servicio. Bad service. noise. bulluso. The beach is non existent full of stinky algae. they don't maintain. la playa no existe, es llena al algas que huelen muy mal no le dan mantenimiento. I don't recommend it to anyone. No la recomendamos. Be careful paying ahead of time, read the fine print. Cuidado con pagar adelantado. Lean la letra pequeña antes de firmar. Fue una mala experiencia y no aguantamos solo una noche. We only stay one night. the smell was gross. Aplliances did not work. Save yourself the money don't go there. ahorren un mal momento no se queden all.

Nice apartment/studio with a good sized balcony. It is close to the main areas of Playa del Carmen and at night you cannot hear the noise of the hustle and bustle. A nice small pool to cool off in and right on the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We just got back from this hotel and it's so amazing. I have a fear of contamination so I'm always scared to go in hotels but this was so clean! Breakfast was also amazing. Beach was amazing and the people were amazing.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days. It is exactly what we envisioned. We were in room 301. Right on the beach with a huge terrace and no neighbours in front of us. Our balcony was about 500 square feet with a hammock, table (4 chairs) and two lounging sun chairs with an area/tap to wash our feet. We had sun all day and had the Partially covered area if we wanted shade. We loved it. The room was clean, had a kitchen with all the necessities plus a loft bed if you have a guest. no problems with hot water, wifi was spotty at times and the staff were very warm and friendly. This is a 3 star hotel (in our standards) and exactly what we wanted. Close to 5th avenue, right on the beach, less traffic (on beach), we did not want a big all inclusive place and a bit quieter. We could not hear 5th avenue at night once we closed our patio doors to sleep. We would stay here again in the exact same room. We will be back!

Nothing quite like going to sleep and waking up to the sound of ocean waves, then having your breakfast served by Jorge to you on the balcony overlooking the blue-green Caribbean. After breakfast, lunch, pina coladas and margaritas will be served to you on the beach by the staff from El Taj. The staff at Playa Palms is excellent: Alfredo (Freddie) is very personable and efficient, as is the rest of the office staff. Carlos is excellent at booking dinner reservations, and arranging tours and transportation to cenotes, Mayacoba, Mayan ruins, Tulum, Cancun airport, etc. Despite other reviews we never had any issues with AC or hot water, and Lety and the other housekeeping and maintenance staffs have been at PP for years.

Hotel is real nice. The room was clean and neat. It had everything you need, even a Nespresso coffee machine. The room was very spacious I really liked it. We stayed for 1 night only as we were returning from Cozumel to catch our plane the next day and I wished I could have the chance to stay a little bit longer. Alfredo at the front desk is super nice and helpful. The breakfast was the highlight, it was plenty and super cheap. I really recommend the breakfast sandwich. The only “bad” thing I could complain about is the beach it is small and very rocky but other than that this is a hidden gem. Another thing is we did not hear any music coming from la 5ta ave during the night. Balcony is roomy enough and with a nice view.

Came here for a week with 5 other friends to celebrate my "milestone" birthday. We booked 3 oceanfront rooms. Our room (3 of us) was 101, by far the worst of the three. We were on ground level which was great for access to the beach, but it's not very private - people sitting on deck chairs (on the beach) literally feet from your door. Our other friends were in rooms 201 and 214, both on the 2nd level with their own private balconies overlooking the beach with table, chairs and hammocks. But the problems with room 101 go beyond being on the first floor. In fairness the room was very clean and pretty well appointed, but just a tad dated and "tired." I could deal with that but the worst part was we dealt with water issues all week. On our first day, the shower was literally a trickle and we had to keep it running for 15 minutes for any hot water (no exaggeration). We, of course, brought it up with the front desk and they did come the next morning and literally took the shower head, etc apart and this definitely improved the water pressure. But we continued to have issues with hot water throughout our week and on some mornings when we turned on the water, there was none, or just a trickle. Within a few minutes the water would finally come, but what an annoyance!! The bathroom is tiny too!! Our friends' rooms had much nicer bathrooms. On an another night when returning to our room, none of the electrical outlets in the walls worked which meant no TV, the refrigerator was off (after we had just gone to the grocery store that day for supplies), no cell phone charging, no wall lights, etc. Luckily it didn't impact the AC or the overhead lights. We let the front desk know again and they said no one could come until the next morning to look at it. Luckily we slept ok because the AC was working fine. They did come the next morning and fixed it quickly (it was just a circuit that had tripped). Needless to say, I would never stay in room 101 again. Now as to the positive things. The room had a small kitchen which was very well equipped with a good-sized refrigerator, brand new coffee maker (Nespresso), blender and toaster - and a two burner cooktop. Also complete with dishware, pots/pans, silverware, glasses, coffee cups and even shot glasses. We put them to good use. And although we were disappointed with the room and had ongoing issues throughout our stay, I can't say enough about the staff. They were very friendly and responsive to our requests/issues. Carlos was wonderful helping with us with several excursions. And Alfredo and the woman (can't remember her name) in the office were always pleasant and helpful. As to the beach area, it's small but was very clean (no seaweed), but I didn't really enjoy the water there - it's a but murky - not the crystal clear blue Caribbean waters I'm accustomed to. But that certainly isn't the hotel's fault. They provide nice beach chairs with cushions and the staff is very willing and helpful by the beach too. The pool is beautiful, crystal clear and well maintained. But it's not the type of pool to lounge by if that's what you're looking for. It's a long narrow pool (very pretty) but no space for deck chairs - and there's no sun by the pool anyway except for a short amount of time in the morning. It's all about sitting on the beach, and that's fine. And the property itself is very nice with beautiful trees and tropical foliage - very well maintained. So I gave on overall rating of only 3 stars because of the disappointment in the room. As to service, I'd rate it as 5 stars, but as to the room 2 stars. Avoid room 101....
