The people at the front desk were very helpful. That being said. The air conditioner never really worked, the room was OK because there was a fan. The bed a quite firm and the pillows were not comfortable. The pool area was very tropical but the pool water was cool. Not in the best part of Playa Del Carmen but...

I must admit: I am biased. I have been staying at hotel LunaSol for years, so I really love the place. Still: I find it wonderful. The rooms are simple, clean and sweet - some of them opening to the pool area with little tables to sit and enjoy. The entry area is open and lovely - right on the...

The hotel in the centre of Playa del Carmen is clean but misses most options that travelers (except backpackers) are looking for. There is no breakfast, no drinking, no shampoo and almost no water in the the shower, etc.

Roberto at LunaSol is your go to guy in Playa del Carmine! He is knowledgeable and friendly. Great hotel with a nice pool and courtyard to chill in. Full kitchen is nice and there are many local restaurants close. Romeo Italian for dinner is fabulous with all Italian staff. Tukan for breakfast, lunch or dinner is great too. This hotel...

We stayed at the Hotel LunaSol in early June 2016. The hotel itself was very clean and secure. The wifi was spotty in some places but overall worked well. The rooms have safe deposit boxes, AC, and are very clean. Breakfast was included but you had to take a voucher to a restaurant down the street to claim it. The...

This is a quiet place but the reason you'd stay here is the amenities. My 2nd floor room had a private balcony overlooking the pool. The AC is immediate and very cool. The hot water is immediate and plentiful (nice water pressure). There is a mini-fridge in the room, great for storing leftover food and store bought drinks. The staff...

Small hotel was welcome after all inclusive craziness. The pool and halls always had a breeze. The front desk was caring and helpful!--Mathew and David. The bed, pillows and sheets were excellent. The Air Conditioning was better than the Riu Tequila. Fun easy neighborhood with market and restaurants.

“I like both the pool side rooms as well as the others. If there are many people using the kitchen by the pool (which happens every now and then), the "off rooms" can be quieter. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed outside. For those of us bothered by cigaret smoke, it makes sitting "out" less enjoyable. Still: this is Mexico and not another country. ”

“1. Playa Del Carmen has a Walmart that rivals most Walmart's within the United States. It is within walking distance to the hotel. I highly suggest utilizing it. Buy bottled water and groceries from there. The meats there are of the highest quality in the area. 2. Don't drink the water in Mexico. Don't drink drinks mixed with ice or blended ice from bars in Mexico. Not even if they tell you if the ice is made from filtered water. You will regret it. 3. The food in Mexico is very salty. 4. I highly suggest visiting Tulum and Coba. You can purchase this as a single excursion at the hotel. 5. Exchange your currency in Mexico because they don't charge you for it. There are multiple exchanges within Playa Del Carmen, all within walking distance. There is one within 2 blocks of the hotel. 6. Have tons of fun. Playa Del Carmen is a great place and I hope to be back soon.”

“Rooms are basic, not meant for people who like to spend a lot of time in the hotel room. Double beds with two pillows per double bed. One nice bar of soap. They do have A/C which is great because it is hot in Playa! Bring sunscreen and hats!”
