This was our 3rd visit to this hotel. In 2018 and 2019 we came here and it was absolutely faultless. We completely fell in love the place so much so that we came here in 2021 solely for the purpose of arranging our wedding for 2023. Within 2 days we decided to cancel all wedding plans. This hotel no longer has the right to call itself a 5 star resort. It has drastically changed and I would give it 3 stars at best. It’s now turning into an 18-30’s party hotel with noisy, obnoxious arrogant youngsters with very little respect for other guests. The hotel apparently was only built in 2014 but it looks 30 years old. Rooms and surrounding areas are left in desperate disrepair. The communal toilets are disgusting, a urinal in the main plaza bar was blocked for 3 days, despite me reporting it on 3 separate occasions. The concierge claimed to know nothing about it, surely the cleaner would have called maintenance to unblock it, but I don’t think they were cleaned or inspected. The toilet opposite the rodeo grill had urine all over the floor and this is the only toilet the restaurant can use, all communal toilets were not maintained or cleaned. One cubical in the plaza bar toilet was missing the whole seat for the duration of our holiday. The buffet food was cold, our toilet leaked and made a terrible noise, after 6 maintenance visits it still was not fixed, the toilet door was so swollen from water damage that it didn’t close, and on the only occasion I did get it closed I got locked in, despite reporting this 2 days in to our holiday nothing was done. They supply free WiFi that is so slow that they then try to sell you super fast broadband for $18 a week per device, they are desperately understaffed and despite many complaints, not a single follow up call was made to see if things have been resolved. Plates, empty glasses and rubbish was just left for days. Any complaints to staff were just met with a shrug of the shoulders. This place has lost all of its class in such a short space of time. We are desperately disappointed. Needless to say we will not be returning a 4th time nor will we be holding our wedding here. At the time of booking (March 2021) we asked for 3 rooms to be together (3 emails from 3 couples all separate bookings) as our friends were out here also, they could not have split us up further, and were not accommodating at all. The only plus side is the waiters, waitresses, hosts and hostesses who were amazing although very stressed and overwhelmed. Complaints are not dealt with, nor were they apologetic. I have taken pictures of all the areas that are in a real state and are here for you to look at but I’m restricted to only 10 (I have hundreds). I advise that you find somewhere else to go as this place is not fit for purpose. I could go on and on and on…..

Travelled as 3 couples. I was skeptical with some reviews and tried to convince my group prior to going to change resorts. I’m glad we didn’t. The rooms were in great shape. No issues with cleanliness or roaches as I have read in Other posts. Bed was comfortable. We had a swim out. 100% recommended. It was nice to have a change of scenery from the main pool when you needed it. Room service was 100%, always Delicious and loved having my coffee delivered every morning to my room, which I need as soon as I wake up. One recommendation for rooms is more hooks on walls to hang your towels, robes and wet. clothes. The entertainment group do everything they can to make sure you are having a good time. This was a plus. Lots of entertainment in this resort. Been to a neighbouring resort that lacked entertainment and I probably won’t go back there for that reason. White party was a hit. Fire show is a must. Staff are hardworking and always making sure to get you what you need or want. They go the extra mile. The front desk wasn’t sure if our room was ready when we arrived so one the the valet guys…I wish I remembered his name cuz he remembered ours every time he saw us…he went to the building to our rooms confined with housekeeping they were ready and drove us over with our luggage. I have no complaints about the food. I make do no matter where I am. Buffet was great selection every time. Tacos are a must at lunch. Never got to try Aroma as it was closed on nights we tried to. The Tao was a great experience and I’m still craving the fried ice cream. Princess burger from room service is a must. Our group enjoyed room service by the swim up which they deliver right to you. We did try the breakfast buffet next door and were disappointed as it did not compare to the buffet at the PYP. We tried the steak house next door as well, which I enjoyed but not everyone I’m our group did. Adults only is great. We did venture over to look at the grounds of the sister resorts. Which is gorgeous but very large resort. I find the smaller resorts tend to provide a better service based on amount of people. Drinks were great. Every bar is well stocked. Was a plus to have Barcardi White which is our favourite and real Pepsi. Not sure if it was because of low capacity due to Covid but we never waited to be served. Strawberry mojitos were a hit. Maria makes a great Fire Coffee a must. We did a private transfer from airport to hotel and back. Canadian Transfers was a great option. My husband and I will definitely return. Thanks again PYP for a great week, can’t wait to come back.

What a hotel, NOT what we expected. Adults only apparently means Party hotel with no thoughts about Covid19!!!!! Employees very friendly and good service, rooms are OK we tried 3 :-), Swimup is great, but due to you are alone and not together with US party animals who do not care about covid19 :-(. Restaurants are a chapter for it self. In general horrible food with few exceptions TAO and morning buffet. Hot food is simply not available it´s food factory with one kitchen for all restaurants all is prepared in advance and a warm steak is a steak heatened in a microwave. Food was terrible and must be a result of ver very big US guys and girls who just need to eat to survive, absolutelu no proudness in kitchen to deliver well prepared and hot food. Sorry but as a european food is a disaster and therefore we can not recommend this hotel for people who appreciate a well prepared dinner. It's also extremely noisy from 14.00 to around midnight primarly due to drunk people and loud music.

I would like to say first that the grounds were Beautiful and most of the staff was good. One of my complaints is the food on the buffet was always barely warm not hot, I informed the waiter a couple of times and the problem was not fix and then I went to the concierge’s after a couple of days and told him about the problem and also said to him that someone may get sick from the food not being at proper temperature it seemed like they care but I was wrong. Me and my wife was there from November 10 to the 16 and didn’t get one hot meal at the buffet. There is only one place to eat breakfast and it’s at the buffet,no à la cart restaurant to order off the menu for breakfast. The room service menu if you want to call it was very small 6 things for dinner on it and if you like hot food you ant going to get it with that. You get two beer per day in your fridge and some soft drinks, if you want more beer in this all inclusive resort you have to pay $4:00 us each, never heard of this this before and we have been going down to Mexico sense 1996 every year except for the last two years in 5 Star resorts all the time. I would not recommend this resource to anybody and I will never be going back. One more thing and this for all resorts, if they want travers to go to the resorts they should be paying for the Covid-19 Test. we are from Canada and $180 us for two is a bit expensive take in contents of what you had to pay to get down there in the first place.

Let me first start by saying that I wanted to like this resort. We tried everything to like it, but with the price being charged, it’s difficult even to recommend this as a 3-star resort. I also want to say that the people working in the buffet and restaurants are genuinely great workers and are only trying their best with what they’re giving. First, I’ll start by talking about the resort itself. It’s run down and ugly - the entire resort looks like it’s 30 years old, however somehow, it’s only 5/6?? I’m not sure how that could be as the hotel looks like it’s completely falling apart, including inside the rooms. Our bedsheets were gross with holes all over them constantly, along with the towels. The bathrooms and faucets are falling apart, and so are all the fixtures. The pool and chairs look super old and beaten up, and often, the metal parts come apart. Everything in our room was broken, including the ironing board and iron. Upon our arrival, the hot water didn’t work, neither did the internet nor the toilet flush! More on the internet later. The food was horrible - almost every restaurant was disgusting. The food was almost not passable for food in even a 3rd world country. I’m not sure how the heck they think it’s possible or even remotely acceptable to serve the type of food they do. I was shocked at the quality - we often ate at the buffet because it was easier to do quality control. The drinks were also nasty, including the wine. I ended up buying multiple bottles of wine because the ones served were so bad and tasted like salty feet. The premium was never available unless it was the late-night bar - no restaurants had it, and I even paid for proper booze from the booze kart that rolls around. Now onto the internet. Ok, it’s 2021, and people are working all over the world. How come a massive resort of this site does not have proper or acceptable internet for people to do things like work remotely, FaceTime, Netflix, or do video work via teams if they have to? I don’t get it - the internet was faster on my flight to Mexico than at the resort. I even paid for the “premium” 15mbps internet that was 21 dollars for seven days. What a joke - it often didn’t work or was so slow it was unusable, and I had to tether to my phone. I will never book again with a resort that doesn’t have good internet. This doesn’t cost much to invest in, so stop being cheap. PCR testing for Canadians. This was an absolute joke, and they were running a scam! Upon check-in, we were told they would do testing in the lobby, but we had to pay 120$ USD cash. I was a bit confused since the reviews said testing was done at the sister resort for 90$, and they accept credit. We decided to make our appointment on Thursday as we were due to leave on Saturday. I decided to check Wednesday that week if everything was ok - however, upon checking with the concierge, I was told that my appointment had been “canceled,” with no notice nothing. At this point, I’m shocked because the individual just acted like it’s no big deal. However, if I didn’t double-check, we would have missed our tasting grace period since our appointment was at 2 pm - not the regular 9 am at the sister resort. After getting upset and sent to multiple people - another concierge lady came up to me and said she’d take care of us. We filled out some complaint papers, and she instructed us to do our testing at the sister resort the next day and ensure we get help. By this time, I lost all faith and decided to taxi to the playa and got my testing done and had the results by 10 pm that night. It was evident people in the resort lobby were shaking people down with this 120$ covid testing as almost every person we talked to had a different story. I hope management takes this seriously because we could have had massive problems getting onto our flight—shame on them for putting us in jeopardy. People need to reconsider if they should go to platinum Yucatán seriously - there are far better resorts. This place looks old and feels old. The best thing was the friendly servers which I tipped well during my 2-week stay, along with the roaming cats. That tells you something
